"American interest in Palestine, outwardly expressed in sympathy for the Zionist cause, actually only means that American capital is expecting to become rooted in the economy of Palestine by interfering in Palestinian affairs. The choice of a Palestinian port as one of the terminal points of the American oil pipeline explains a lot about American foreign policy on the issue of Palestine."
"The colossal growth of expenditures for the Army and Navy, comprising $13 billion in the 1946-1947 budget (about 40% of the entire budget of $36 billion) and is more than 10 times the corresponding expenditures in the 1938 budget, when it did not even reach $1 billion. These enormous budget sums are being spent along with the maintenance of a large Army, Navy, and Air Force and also the creation of a vast system of naval and air bases... The majority of these bases and support bases are located outside the United States."
Soviet Ambassador to the US, Nikolai Novikov, 27 September 1946

"The ungodly Arch-Villain, Voltaire, has died like a dog. I have always had God before my eyes...friends who have no religion cannot long be my friends."

Boudicca (died 61 CE) was the Celtic Queen of the Iceni tribe who led a revolt against Roman occupation of what is now East Anglia, England. So charismatic was Boudicca that ancient sources record tribes joining her revolt which would not normally have supported an Iceni-led objective. Boudicca was the wife of the Iceni King Prasutagus who ruled his lands as an independent ally of Rome and who, therefore, left his estate divided between Emperor Nero of Rome and Prasutagus' wife and two daughters. Upon his death, however, the Iceni lands were usurped by Rome, Boudicca was flogged and her daughters were raped by the Romans for daring to presume they had rights which should be recognized by Rome.

A Cossack is a representative of an ancient warlike people with a rich history and its own culture. More than 90% of this people were destroyed by the Soviet government. The entire ethnicity of Ukraine was changed. The surviving Cossacks in their homeland were forcibly recorded as Russians or Ukrainians.
Therefore, many ethnic Cossacks now consider themselves representatives of other peoples. But there is another kind of "Cossack", this is the so-called "Cossacks". This is a costumed multinational, rattling medals, shoulder straps and chevrons. Not to be confused: a Cossack is a nationality (very different from a Russian). However these people who many of their own population see as bullies, marching around in uniforms are not ethnic Cossacks, but Russians, or something else.

Were the Corinthians Roman colonists?
When modern Christians think of the people to whom Paul wrote his letters, normally they think of the Greeks. "Corinth is no longer inhabited by any of the old Corinthians, but by colonists sent out by the Romans. This change is due to the Achaean League. The Corinthians, being members of it, joined in the war against the Romans, which Critolaus, when appointed general of the Achaeans, brought about by persuading to revolt both the Achaeans and the majority of the Greeks outside the Peloponnesus. When the Romans won the war, they carried out a general disarmament of the Greeks and dismantled the walls of such cities as were fortified. Corinth was laid waste by Mummius, who at that time commanded the Romans in the field, and it is said that it was afterwards refounded by Caesar, who was the author of the present constitution of Rome." Lucius Mummius was praetor and proconsul around 153–152BC. Julius Caesar: lived around 100BC–44BC.

Expedition on the airship "Italia"
It took place in 1928 under the leadership of the Italian explorer Umberto Nobile. The airship with a crew of 16 people took off from Ny-Ålesund on Svalbard on May 23, flew over the North Pole, but crashed on the way back. Part of the crew died, the rest spent about a month on the ice in the camp, which became known as the "red tent". Several expeditions were organized to rescue survivors in different countries. The last members of the Nobile expedition were taken by the Soviet icebreaker Krasin on July 12.

Sustainable Forward Operating Bases 2012.pdf

The presentation aims to show a suggested solution for more sustainable UK FOBs. "Forward Operating Bases" (FOBs) are those UK military bases in the lands of other nations. The typical UK requirement for military personnel in an FOB is 17 kW per 100 men, and according to US guidelines a full company-size FOB require 1000kWh of electric energy per day. The suggestion is to achieve better thermal efficiencies, reducing water waste, etc. A substantial investment would be required on replacement. The university also observed some ridiculous considerations such as jealousy among Afghans because of the improved facilities. The estimated decrease in Annual Operating Cost of 54% and Annual Fuel Cost by 44%.

"Under the old regime, only three years ago, if you ever met a Kuban it was only as a Cossack of the escort. If you have ever been in St Petersburg you are sure to remember these tall, well-built figures in dark blue Circassian dress, with enamelled bullets on the breast, yellow garments and big black lambskin bonnets with red tops (papakha). The Kubans formed the greater part of the very best detachment of Cossacks, who bore the name of His Majesty's Own Escort." 'Cossack' means - in the regions of the Don, Kuban and Terek - 'the first settlers', as opposed to the later colonists, who are called 'Aliens'. During the old regime the Cossacks of each of these regions enjoyed self-determination in military affairs as distinct from the 'aliens'.... After the Revolution, which brought about the abolition of all privileges, the land was supposed to be divided equally... the Cossacks, however, think otherwise, and have not the smallest desire to give their land up to the aliens..."

The Mos Maiorum was the moral code of Ancient Rome meaning the way of the elders or ancestors.
Mos Maiorum functioned as the moral and ethical code of Ancient Rome.
Although it was never written down, the moral principles of the Mos Maiorum influenced all aspects of Roman life and contributed to the rise and fall of the Roman Empire.
It has been suggested that the rise and fall of the Roman Empire can be explained by examining to what extent the Romans kept or strayed away from the moral principles of the Mos Maiorum.
The core moral principles of the Mos Maiorum were:
i) Fides;
ii) Pietas;
iii) Religio;
iv) Cultus;
v) Disciplina;
vi) Virtus;
vii) Dignitas;
viii) Auctoritas.
