The song was written by the Silesian songwriter and youth leader Erich Scholz. There has never been a Russian version of this song. It was a song for the German youth movement.

The song is about the defeated West Russian Volunteer Army, which fought against the Bolshevists in the Western Baltic in 1919. The West Russian Volunteer Army was a White Army made up of various German Freikorps, among others, and consisted of 40,000 Imperial Germans and Baltic Germans and 10,000 to 15,000 Russians.

Ian Smith, the Prime Minister of Rhodesia was denounced by the British upon declaring independence. The country soon faced severe economic sanctions and a weapons embargo that seriously crippled the military. Mugabe took power in 1987. Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) was once called the bread basket of Africa and they were especially famous for their quality beef. They also had an exemplary education system. The nation was destroyed and the white farmers kicked off their land at gun point. Many Rhodesian white people scattered, they are English by language and ethnicity.
