On Cossack Women

"When we say that the Cossacks had once mastered the huge open spaces of the Don, Kuban, Terek, a primary matter to remember is that it was largely done by female hands. Men were constantly on campaigns, in cordons. In the houses remained old men, children and - Cossack women. They cultivated fields, the gardens, the vineyards, it went beyond the cattle, they raised the lush gardens for which the villages were famed. The Cossack woman was not only a tireless worker, but also the organizer - if needed, she hired workers and led them. When attacking enemies, she removed the man's saber and gun from the wall and fought to death, defending children or giving them the opportunity to escape... Cossack women did not give up, but fought to the end." (On Cossack Nationality)

Quote: Tertullian (210 AD)

"Show me your authority. If you are a prophet, foretell us a thing; if you are an apostle, open your message in public; if a follower of apostles, side with the apostles in thought; if you are only a (private) Christian, believe what has been handed down to us: If however, you are nothing of all this, then (as I have the best reason to say) cease to live. For indeed you are already dead, since you are no Christian, because you do not believe that which by being believed makes men Christian."
