How "Red 8", the last surviving ME262-B ended up in South Africa
Together with other aircraft of the unit, Red 8 was surrendered at Schleswig. The two-seater aircraft were considered a prized booty by the British, who collected three flyable machines for evaluation purposes. The other two were Red 12, werknummer 111980, (later destroyed in a gale in 1947) and Red 10, werknummer 110635 (scrapped already later the same year). On 18 May 1945 Red 8 was ferried to Gilze-Rijen and then to RAF Farnborough in the UK for evaluation. It was subsequently used for radar and tactical trials starting from July the same year. It carried the RAF serial VH519. After completed trials, Red 8 was shipped to South Africa on 23 February 1947, arriving at Cape Town on 17 March. Amazingly, it survived in storage until the late-1960s when it was taken over by the museum. This important aircraft was restored for display in South Africa in 1971 and has been a crown exhibit of the Johannesburg military museum since 1972.

"...the revolutionary movement headed by the Katipunan, [was] the bastard child of Filipino freemasonry. Freemasonry in the Philippines was but a pretext: under this pretext the enemies of Spain, in days of Spanish rule, and the enemies of the U.S. in these days of American rule, put themselves into close and secret communion, to earn out plans of revolt. This Filipino masonry cast its net far and wide, and in its meshes were caught many fish of all classes and conditions... Masonry was imported into the Archipelago, shortly after the Spanish Revolution, and was, during the first years of its life, confined to Spaniards; but later on it opened its doors to half-castes and Indians... Entering the fold of freemasonry, they threw off the bridle of religion which restrained them; loosing respect for Almighty God and for their faith they soon lost respect for others and for themselves. The result is well known."

"The History of Ancient America" by George Jones, published in 1843, explores intriguing theories about the origins of Native Americans. Jones suggests that Native Americans have their roots in two ancient civilizations. First, he proposes that they are descendants of the Phoenicians (Tyrians), who allegedly built temples, pyramids, and cities in Central America around 332 BC. Second, Jones connects some Native American populations to the lost tribes of Israelites. The book delves into these captivating connections, drawing from historical works and Humboldt's views.

Dr. G. E. Neumann's address to the Lutheran Australian congregation of Dugandan, Queensland regarding Germany and Hitler (1939)
"Then a miracle happened," continued the speaker. "That was the advent of Hitler." In the name of National Socialism he had united those who were rich and those who were poor- all who believed in a united Germany... Hitler worked for a united Germany, saying "Let us take down not only the boundaries of the German States, but the boundaries which divide the German people." People frequently talked of the militaristic spirit of Germany, but the Germans were no more militaristic than other people. That belief was due to a misunderstanding of the attitude of mind of the German people, which was a resolute determination to face the task put before them- and to face their responsibilities like soldiers... A great Frenchman had said after the World War, that there were 20,000,000 of Germans too many, and that the only way of getting rid of them was by continuing a gospel of hate. Germany, between 1918 and 1932, seemed to be doomed... However, in the darkest hour of the nation there arose an unknown soldier who, in effect said, "There is no help for us from outside, but if you will believe in yourselves - in the strength of will that is within you - a strength which the history of more than a thousand years of struggle and fighting has proved, we will unite for the sake of our nation"... In the name of National Socialism he had united those who were rich and those who were poor-all who believed in a united Germany. There was a national awakening among those who had and those who had not... Hitler was not against the Church, added Dr. Neumann, but it was found that some pulpits had been made the ways and means of expressing opposition to the State, and opposition to the State was not to be suffered, because the nation was striving to build up a new and greater Germany... "We don't want to make you national socialists." said Dr. Neumann, in conclusion. "You are Australian citizens, but if you do not respect us how can we expect foreigners to do so?" He appealed to his hearers to think of Germany, not as an aggressive nation, but one that was striving and building in the interests of its people and for a better understanding which would enable peace to reign among all nations."

"World war would mean a war between the US and the Soviet Union... If the US attacks China, there will be no world war⦠maybe just a local war. Even if the US attacks us, we will not ask the Soviet Union to take part in this war... I also met with the president of an organization seeking the release of Palestinian Arabs. All held the opinion that the U.S., through Israel, exercises great pressure on Arab countries. They expressed their desire that our country [China] lure the Americans into the Far East, to relieve the pressure on the Middle East. I told them that Vietnam represents a very good example, that many American forces were lured there. They said that they agree with me and that as soon as they go back home they will tell their governments to support the Vietnamese people... With regard to Israel, it is the USA that encourages West Germany to establish diplomatic relations with Israel and arm the Israeli..."

"Various studies show a father spending twenty to sixty minutes daily with their kids. Even worse, another study indicated that the average teenager growing up in a Christian home spends just two minutes per day in conversation with his or her father... Patriarchy comes from two Latin words: patria (βfrom fatherβ) and arche (βto ruleβ). It literally means a βfamily ruler,β the mere uttering of which sounds offensive to modern ears. Our culture β and a surprising number of people in the church β believe that a manβs leadership role in the family has nefarious implications. βMale-ledβ automatically means βmale-dominated"... As a result of this backlash, many men simply retreat into their own private world. They become Provider Dads, relegating the responsibility of leading their families to their wives. Someone else is best equipped to teach a manβs children. The concept of a βteaching fatherβ is almost unheard of within the church and larger society."

"Earrings on a man usually look unnatural, but they were the absolute norm among the Don Cossacks and had a serious symbolic meaning. The earring on the left ear meant that this Donets was the only son of a single mother, on the right β that he was the last man in the family. This element was considered a talisman, because during the battle the commanders tried to protect such fighters. The Cossacks felt a special piety for the headdress, which they wore not for warmth, but for honor. The Astrakhan cap, which, due to its specific cut, did not allow the fighter to walk with his head down, reflected the traditional worldview of the Cossacks who did not bend their backs in front of anyone. It was an important attribute of their self-determination, and therefore, when knocking it off a head, the opponent inflicted a deep insult to the enemy."

"Men desire above all things to be free and say that freedom is the greatest of blessings, while slavery is the most shameful and wretched of states; and yet they have no knowledge of the essential nature of this freedom and this slavery of which they speak. And, what is more, they do practically nothing whatever to escape the shameful and grievous thing, which is slavery, and to gain what they consider to be valuable, that is, freedom; but on the contrary, they do the things which result in their continuing in slavery all their lives and never attaining to freedom."
