✅Gajraj Suraksha senses pressure waves generated by the movement of elephants along the tracks.
✅As elephants move, the optical fibres detect vibrations caused by their footsteps.
✅These vibrations trigger signals within the optical fibre network, enabling the system to identify the presence of elephants up to 200 metres ahead of their arrival on the track.
✅The OFC-based Intrusion Detection System works by sending alarms to station masters whenever movement is detected along the tracks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announces 'Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana', a scheme aiming to electrify one crore households with solar electricity. The announcement was made on the occasion of consecration in Ayodhya.
The initiative will target the installation of rooftop solar systems on one crore houses. It is meant to reduce electricity bills for the poor and middle class and also circles around the aim of making India self-reliant in the field of energy.
As of July 31, 2023, only 2.2 GW worth of rooftop installations were reportedly installed in Indian homes.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman affirmed the government's commitment to electrify one crore households with rooftop solar installations, delivering up to 300 units of free electricity monthly, saving households ₹15,000-18,000 annually.
Subsidizing the surplus electricity supplied back to the grid through net-metering, the initiative could significantly offset electricity bills for consumers.
Current rooftop solar capacity in India stands at approximately 11 GW, with only 2.7 GW in residential units, highlighting the scope for expansion under the new scheme.
Viability gap funding for the offshore wind sector was also announced, indicating support for up to 1 GW capacity to stimulate private investment.

🔆One stop centre scheme
✅Recently, the union Minister for Women and Child Development said that One Stop Centres to help women who have faced violence have been established in over 700 districts across the country.
✅It is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme formulated under the union Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD).
📍Objectives
✅To provide integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence, both in private and public spaces under one roof.
✅To facilitate immediate, emergency and non-emergency access to a range of services including medical, legal, psychological and counselling support under one roof to fight against any forms of violence against women.
📍 Target group
✅It supports all women including girls below 18 years of age affected by violence, irrespective of caste, class, religion, region, sexual orientation or marital status.
✅For girls below 18 years of age, institutions and authorities established under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 linked with the OSC
✅Funding: The Scheme will be funded through Nirbhaya Fund. The Central Government will provide 100% financial assistance under the Scheme.
✅Administration: The day to day implementation and
administrative matters would be the responsibility of the District Collector/District Magistrate.
✅The OSC will facilitate access to: Emergency Response and Rescue Services, Medical assistance, assistance to women in lodging FIR/ NCR/DIR, psycho-social support/ counseling, legal aid and counseling, shelter and Video Conferencing Facility.

✅At its core, the project seeks to amalgamate ancient insights with modern military practices, creating a comprehensive approach to tackle present-day security challenges.
