✅Total Milk Processing Capacity: 4,855 thousand litres per day distributed across 20 locations in Bihar.

✅Major Centres (Capacity in TLPD):

🔸Samastipur: 835

🔸Barauni: 500

🔸Dehri-on-Sone: 500

🔸Sitamarhi: 400

🔸Other Notable Centres: Patna (275), Muzaffarpur (290), Arrah (300), Bhagalpur & Purnia (200 each).

✅ The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying is implementing the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) across India since 2014-15, aiming to boost rural livelihoods and build robust dairy infrastructure.

♻️ Major Components of NPDD:

🔹 Component A

✅ Focuses on building/strengthening infrastructure for:

🧪 Milk quality testing equipment

❄️ Primary chilling facilities

👥 Implemented through State Cooperative Dairy Federations, District Milk Unions, SHGs, Milk Producer Companies & FPOs.

🔹 Component B – "Dairying Through Cooperatives"

✅ Aims at:

📈 Enhancing milk sales & market accessibility for farmers

🏭 Upgrading dairy processing & marketing infrastructure

🧑🌾 Strengthening producer-owned institutions

♻️ Key Achievements Under NPDD (Till Date):

✅ Infrastructure Installed at Primary/Village Level Dairy Cooperatives:

🧊 5,707 Bulk Milk Coolers (Chilling capacity: 140.65 lakh litres)

🔢 47,785 Automatic Milk Collection & Data Processing Units

🧪 7,840 Milk Analysers

🚫 7,550 Electronic Milk Adulteration Testing Equipment

♻️ Special Focus: Gujarat Projects

✅ 8 projects approved in Gujarat under NPDD

💰 Total Outlay: ₹552.82 crore

📦 Funds Released So Far: ₹246.10 crore

✅ Approved Amount: ₹66.89 crore (Central Share: ₹39.96 crore)

🔆Launch of ICGS ATAL Fast Patrol Vessel – Goa Shipyard Ltd., 29 July 2025

✅ Reinforcing India’s indigenous shipbuilding and maritime capability, Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) launched the ICGS ATAL Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) at Vasco-da-Gama, Goa on 29 July 2025. This forms part of their nation’s ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) drive in defence manufacturing.

🛳️ ICGS ATAL is the sixth in a series of eight state-of-the-art, indigenously designed FPVs built by GSL for the ICG.

📏 Specifications: 52m length, 8m beam, 320-tonne displacement.

🛡️ Role: Coastal patrols, island security, offshore asset protection, anti-smuggling, anti-piracy, and search & rescue missions.
