Alebel Desta Consulting Architects and Engineers has been selected as the winner of an international competition for the design of ET Flight 302 Crash Site Memorial Monument and Park Design Competition. Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Ethiopia's Bole International Airport to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft that operated the flight crashed six minutes after takeoff near the town of Bishoftu, Gimbichu Woreda on March 10, 2019, killing all 157 people on board.
