The Goethe-Institut in Addis Abeba invites interested and eligible photographers based in Ethiopia to apply to a photography workshop organized under the broad theme “Water in Ethiopia”.
The workshop brings together interested photographers from different backgrounds to communicate via photographs a range of issues associated with “water”, learn new skills about storytelling and co-produce new stories that surprise, delight, inform and facilitate the exchange of ideas.
Twelve (12) photographers will be selected by renowned photographers Andy Spyra (Germany) and Michael Tsegaye (Ethiopia) until 13 March 2022. The selection will be based on the quality of the photographs submitted as well as the persuasive power of the personal motivation-letter. The twelve workshop-participants will be invited to a free, mentored photography workshop from 11–15 April 2022 at the Goethe-Institut in Addis Abeba.
The photographers will receive guidance to allow them to produce their own photographic stories in Addis Abeba revolving around “water” as the core issue. The photographic results of the workshop will be published on the Goethe-Institut’s website and at a showcase event later in the year.
Information on how to participate in the workshop can be found in the link below.
