🌍 The EUT+ Simulation Game has officially entered its in-person phase!
Before heading to Darmstadt, our international group of students from Hochschule Darmstadt, Université de Technologie de Troyes and Cyprus University of Technology made an inspiring first stop in Strasbourg 🇪🇺 — visiting the European Parliament and diving straight into the heart of EU democracy.
🗓️ The next few days in Darmstadt are all about preparation: students will work within their parliamentary groups to refine positions, draft amendments, and rehearse their arguments on the European Green Deal 🌱 — one of the EU’s most ambitious policy initiatives.
🗣️ Then, on Thursday, it’s time for the highlight of the week: the full-day Simulation Game, where students will take on the roles of MEPs in a mock parliamentary session — complete with political negotiations, debates, and voting.

ABSTRACT: Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), with their connection to terrestrialnetworks, pose new challenges from different points of view also in terms of reliability, vulnerability and therefore of security. Even today it is still to be understood whether the NTN network can be assimilated, for telecommunication aspects, to terrestrialsegments, and therefore, whether it can be sufficient to apply the criteria required by the various standardization bodies in terms of security for 5G networks. But many other aspects must be taken into consideration that specifically concern the characteristics of these flying objects as their entire life cycle from construction, to launch up to their decommissioning. This tutorial will try to examine all these aspects by quickly describing the architectures of NTN networks with their possible vulnerabilities, reviewing the main standardizations and certifications in terms of cybersecurity, and how instead the topic of the life cycle of the satellite is being approached.
SPEAKER: Francesco Matera was born in Rome, Italy, on May 1, 1961. He received the Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome, Italy, in 1985. In 1986, he was granted a fellowship at Fondazione Ugo Bordoni on optical fibers. Since 1988, he has been Researcher at Fondazione Ugo Bordoni where he worked on optical fiber systems, optical networks and fiber nonlinearities. He participated in different European Projects and he was the scientific coordinator of European IST ATLAS project for soliton WDM systems. He was a contract professor at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering of Bari and Cassino, where he taught optical communications.
Currently he works on 5G&6G networks. He is Author of about 150 publications and 150 Conference papers and of a book: “Nonlinear Optical Communication Networks” Wiley 1996.
He is the scientific responsible for FUB in RESTART.

Glad to share that our latest paper, "A comprehensive control architecture for semi-autonomous dual-arm robots in agriculture settings," has been published in Control Engineering Practice!
We present a novel control architecture designed for complex tasks in precision agriculture, such as robotized grape harvesting. Our approach utilizes Hierarchical Quadratic Programming (HQP) to enable a 16-DOF dual-arm mobile robot to manage multiple tasks and constraints effectively. This work received funding from the H2020 European project Canopies and from PRIN project CONCERTO-A
