The bot is not working because I can't make a payment for my server.

I'm from Russia and Visa, MasterCard and PayPal suspended their services here, my server provider doesn't support UnionPay and I don't want to host my bot on russians servers.

Also, due to the exchange rate of the ruble to dollar, the cost of services has doubled. Right now I have no way to pay for servers.

Trying to figure out what to do.

I've updated dependecies that the bot uses and moved to new telegram bot framework.

If the bot not working as intended please reply in comments or dm me.

I've moved the bot to new article parser. If anything is wrong feel free to reach me out in the comments.

I've added ability to screenshot full page in PNG format.

To screenshot full page you need to send command /full and url you want to screenshot.

Example:
/full https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chatbot

Then the bot will send you a screenshot, see attached file.

The command is not added yet in command menu and not documented in /help. I'm testing the new feature and if everything is ok, it will be added.

I've changed png format to pdf.
It's more convenient because you can now click the links or select a text inside a pdf file.

Someone spammed the bot with more 100 same links and the bot got stuck.

I have cleared queue and restarted the bot, it is working now.

Please, don't abuse the bot, or I will just add your telegram id in a ban list.

Update: I changed my mind.

I decided to shut the bot down because I don't have time or resources to maintain it

I will open source it and make a readme on how to run the bot

If someone decides to launch their own version of the bot, I can help with its launch by answering some questions

Hello everyone! Thank you for being here for so long and continuing to use the bot @html_to_pdf_bot!

I haven’t maintained it for years since my last post here, but for the last three months I’ve been working to update all the infrastructure and dependencies, and fix some critical bugs that were crashing the bot constantly and forcing me to manually reboot it.

And today I finally cleared all the technical debt!

So if the bot starts acting differently, please describe any issues in the comments below.

As always, I will keep the bot free for everyone forever, but please don’t abuse it. Thanks!

As you already expect, I appear here once a year with some news.

A lot has changed in my life and I found again some time to develop the bot.
Since the last post I've tried to make the bot more reliable and faster, most changes were done in the last month. As always, if something is wrong you can send a private message or leave a comment.

Most of the changes were technical and were done under the hood. But on the user side I removed the /full command because it makes more trouble than convenience and was used maybe only by two users. So I am not sure if I will ever add the ability to make full screenshots of web pages.

If you ever wished the bot to have any functionality, feel free to leave a comment. If it fits the concept of the bot, be sure that I will make it a feature.

Oh, forgot to say. I also made a new bot: @anydoc_to_md_bot.

It can convert any office document to markdown.

UPD: The bots are working now.

The bots are not working currently because my hosting provider is experiencing network equipment issues. The estimated resolution time is unknown. But I hope they restore it as quickly as possible.

I have three Telegram bots already and decided to keep them in one place. It will be this channel. I wanted to connect them by having some "organization" and came up with the name Unary Bots.

So from now on all (rare) news about all my bots will be here in this channel, and the channel will be renamed to @unary_bots.

Current active bots under the Unary Bots organization are:

• Webpage to PDF (@html_to_pdf_bot) — send a link and get a clean PDF
• Any Doc to Markdown (@anydoc_to_md_bot) — send a document and get a markdown file
• Oblique Strategies (@ObliqueStrategiesOfBrianEnoBot) — a bot based on the self-titled set of cards by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt

If you have any ideas for a new bot or some feature for the current bots, feel free to leave a comment! I could make it if it's a good fit for Unary Bots.

Small update about @html_to_pdf_bot:
• you can now send not only links but .html and .txt files also and the bot wil generate pdf
• if the bot can't extract meaningfull content it will try to send whole page (also cleaned) in pdf and says this in caption
• and some small invisble fixes and more obvious error messages
