You are officially informed that from Saturday, August 3, 2024, all users of the SRID Wi-Fi network will be authenticated using your institutional email and password before gaining access to the network.

This authentication mechanism is intended to assist the ICT Unit in managing internet connectivity and bandwidth on campus. Kindly follow the steps listed below to register.

UMaT NETWORK AUTHENTICATION STEPS
1. Create a UMaT Network Account (Phone/Computer)
• Open your browser.
• In the address bar, enter:
https://selfservice.umat.edu.gh/realms/umat/account
• Click on Sign In at the upper-right corner of your screen.
• From the page that appears, click on Google to sign in
with your UMaT Email address.
• Sign in with your UMaT email and the password to that
email address to create a UMaT Network account (e.g.,
el-jkumi2024@st.umat.edu.gh).
NB: This platform accepts UMaT email addresses only.

2. When joining the UMaT Network (NB: first follow step 1
above before proceeding)
• Launch your browser (e.g. Edge, Firefox, Chrome, etc)
• From the popup login page that appears, log in using:
 Username: Your Institutional Email Address (e.g.
el-jkumi2024@st.umat.edu.gh)
 Password: The password from Step 1

UMaT SRC Elections Hang in the Balance as IMC EC Remains Silent

The UMaT SRC General Elections, scheduled for February 7th and 14th for SRID and Tarkwa Campus respectively, have been marred by uncertainty and confusion.

In a shocking turn of events, the SRID elections failed to take place on the scheduled date, with no official communication from the Interim Management Committee (IMC) Electoral Commission (EC) to explain the reason for the cancellation.

As the Tarkwa Campus elections approach, students and aspirants are growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of updates from the IMC EC. With only two days left before the scheduled election date, the silence from the IMC EC is deafening.

Students are demanding answers to the following questions:

1. When will the SRC Elections be organized, or does the IMC intend to take over fully?
2. Why is the IMC EC failing to update students on the elections?
