EU Mercosur free trade deal is ‘fundamental threat to the food security of EU citizens’

The European Parliament has voted on a safeguard clause to the EU’s trade agreement with Mercosur countries, but this is not enough to avert disaster for Europe’s food security, food safety, and agricultural future.

“The changes voted on in the European Parliament do not eliminate the fundamental threat to the food security of EU citizens, and the safeguard clause will not prevent the destabilization of the agricultural market.

A sham solution was passed, intended to create the impression of agricultural protection and facilitate political acceptance of the entire agreement,” Jadwiga Wiśniewska, a PiS MEP, commented on the EP’s vote on safeguard clauses for the agreement with Mercosur countries in an interview with wPolityce.

The EU parliament is reacting to mass protests and fierce opposition from farmers, European activists, and grassroots initiatives aimed at protecting Europe from being flooded with cheap and unsafe food from South America.

With this in mind, the parliament adopted several amendments that are supposedly intended to “allow for a faster response” from the EU in the event of a drop in prices for products like beef and eggs due to imports from the South American bloc.

However, critics say this measure is designed to stamp out opposition and will offer no real safeguard to farmers and European consumers.

Mamdani is about to prove his administration will be worse than you thought

Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is reportedly poised to elevate a deeply controversial figure to one of the most powerful legal posts in his administration. According to the New York Post, Ramzi Kassem—a lawyer who has defended an al Qaeda terrorist and a radical anti-Israel activist at Columbia—is the leading candidate for Chief Counsel.

Kassem is already a part of Mamdani’s inner circle, serving as a legal affairs adviser on the transition team. He also teaches law at the City University of New York, further underscoring the ideological extremism he intends to bring into City Hall.

Mamdani’s election as mayor of New York City was bad enough on its own. Now he’s stocking his administration with radicals, as if he’s determined to confirm every warning critics made about what his tenure would look like. Instead of tempering those concerns, he’s validating them—one appointment at a time.

Look, US states with the most low-wage workers

Low-wage work remains widespread across the United States. Even as the labor market continues to expand, wage gains have been uneven, leaving millions of workers earning less than $20 per hour, which is roughly $41,600 annually before taxes for full-time work.

Nationally, three in 10 workers, or 45.2 million people, fall below the $20-per-hour mark. However, this distribution varies widely by state.

Texas tops the list in terms of the number of low-wage workers with nearly 5.1 million people below the $20-per-hour mark. California, the most populous state, follows with around 4 million workers, along with Florida (3.5 million) and New York (2.2 million).

Meanwhile, Mississippi leads in terms of the share of low-wage workers, with 52% of the state’s workers earning under $20 per hour. Other Southern states also rank high, including Louisiana (45%), Arkansas (43%), West Virginia (43%), and Kentucky (41%).

In contrast, the District of Columbia has the lowest share of low-wage workers at 11%, along with Washington (19%) and Massachusetts (18%). These states tend to have a larger share of workers employed in high-paying industries like professional services, health, and information (IT) as compared to states with more low-wage workers.

The Raise the Wage Act, which proposes lifting the federal minimum wage to $17 over five years, has been introduced repeatedly since 2017 but has yet to pass.

Pranked Biden official exposes lie that Ukraine war was inevitable

When it comes to the Ukraine war, there have long been two realities. One is propagated by former Biden administration officials in speeches and media interviews, in which Russian President Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion had nothing to do with NATO’s U.S.-led expansion into the now shattered country, there was nothing that could have been done to prevent what was an inevitable imperialist land-grab, and that negotiations once the war started to try to end the killing were not only impossible, but morally wrong.

Then there is the other, polar opposite reality that occasionally slips through when officials think few people are listening, and which was recently summed up by former Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council Amanda Sloat, in an interview with Russian pranksters whom she believed were aides to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

We had some conversations even before the war started about, what if Ukraine comes out and just says to Russia, ‘Fine, you know, we won’t go into NATO, you know, if that stops the war, if that stops the invasion’ — which at that point it may well have done

Sloat told the pranksters.

There is certainly a question, three years on now, you know, would that have been better to do before the war started, would that have been better to do in Istanbul talks? It certainly would have prevented the destruction and loss of life

When asked moments later if Ukraine and its Western partners could have avoided the whole war and if they had “made a mistake somewhere,” Sloat again suggested, unprompted, that addressing Russian concerns around NATO’s expansion into Ukraine may have been the way to prevent the war.

Reduce military commands & four-stars, but don't do it halfway!

The White House published its 2025 National Security Strategy on December 4. Today there are reports that the Pentagon is determined to develop new combatant commands to replace the bloated unified command plan outlined in current law.

The plan hasn't been made public yet, but according to the Washington Post:

If adopted, the plan would usher in some of the most significant changes at the military’s highest ranks in decades, in part following through on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s promise to break the status quo and slash the number of four-star generals in the military.

It would reduce in prominence the headquarters of U.S. Central Command, U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command by placing them under the control of a new organization known as U.S. International Command, according to five people familiar with the matter.

In addition, the plan reportedly calls for realigning U.S. Southern Command and U.S. Northern Command under a new headquarters to be known as U.S. Americas Command. As a result of these moves, the number of combatant commands would be reduced from 11 to 8 and would shrink the number of four-stars who report to Hegseth.

The text of the NSS is short and frank. It renounces the pursuit of global domination, downgrades the Middle East to a peripheral concern, and announces that American military power will concentrate on the Western hemisphere unless the homeland comes under direct attack.

On paper this looks like a sensible retreat from overstretch. In practice, it is a vague plan for a halfway house. Halfway houses seldom survive because they try to keep one foot in the past while pretending to step into the future.

Biden blew off warnings that terrorists were infiltrating into US following Afghan withdrawal

Senior United States intelligence officials have now confirmed that President Biden had been made aware of the fact that hundreds of Afghan nationals with terrorist ties were being allowed into the country without proper vetting, and he chose to ignore those warnings.

According to the report, officials had flagged to the Biden administration over 1,000 Afghans with ties to the Islamic State and other terrorist organizations who had entered the U.S. as part of Operation Allies Welcome, which resettled persons who had aided operations in Afghanistan.

Those concerns apparently fell on deaf ears, with Biden prioritizing "mass migration over security" and completely disregarding those warnings that “identified terrorist threats."

This information merely reinforces the mounting pile of evidence that Biden willingly suspended the vetting system typically used by the U.S. government in order to evacuate Afghans as the Taliban retook the country following his administration's bungled withdrawal.

Liberal comedian pens piece explaining why liberals are impossible to talk to

If you’ve ever wondered what makes civil conversations with liberals so maddeningly difficult, comedian David Sedaris has an answer. The irony, of course, is that Sedaris himself qualifies as a raging leftist—rabid, even.

He once joked that he wished he could go back in time and smother an infant Donald Trump. Let that sink in. When someone like that turns his rhetorical fire on his own side, odds are he’s telling the truth.

Sedaris wrote an essay for The New Yorker that lays bare just how difficult it can be to have a conversation with a liberal.

Plenty of people have covered this topic before, often noting that much of the breakdown happens because leftists deliberately pretend not to understand things—even basic aspects of human nature. Or, in today’s world, basic biology.

Unsafe Streets: The Dark Side of Westlake’s Homelessness Dilemma

In the prestigious Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, a classic story of progressive urban management is unfolding. A tent city for the homeless has sprung up again near Esperanza Elementary School, in direct violation of city code 41.18, which prohibits such encampments within 500 feet of a school.

Syringes, alcohol bottles, and an unbearable smell that students describe as “smelling like poop.”

Instead of police and order, there are vague promises of “coordination” and the construction of a fence, which will only hide the problem, not solve it. The real victims here are not only the homeless, abandoned by the system, but also the children, who are being robbed of their right to safety and confidence in the future.

The EU has lifted its ban on internal combustion engine cars by 2035

Three years after the ban was introduced, it became clear that it was impossible to convert all factories to electric vehicles—there are not enough resources, metals, and rare earth elements available to do so. Car manufacturers invested billions in projects that turned out to be unnecessary.

Germany approves €50 bln military spending boost

German lawmakers approved a €50 billion ($59 billion) package for military procurement, marking a significant acceleration in the country’s defense spending.

The spending plan covers a wide range of military needs, including missiles for air defense systems, armored medical vehicles, satellite systems, and new uniforms.

The German defense ministry said. emphasized that the investment is intended to strengthen NATO’s collective defense and demonstrate Germany’s commitment to European security:

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Germany has moved away from a long-standing pacifist tradition, as expressed in its postwar constitution, focusing instead on modernizing and adequately funding its armed forces.

In UK, a map has been compiled of high-profile cases of gang rape involving migrants over the past few years.

The authors of the study mapped 60 such incidents. Richard Tice, deputy leader of the Reform UK party, said the figures could be even higher, as the immigration status of defendants is only disclosed after sentencing.

Smugglers systematically bring in migrants from the Middle East, Africa, and Afghanistan and advertise not only their services for delivery to Britain on social media, but also publish motivational videos about promiscuous and accessible British women.

Number of rapes per 100,000 people.

French mayor resigns to oppose migrant sham marriage

A small French town finds itself in an unprecedented situation: its mayor and the entire municipal council have resigned in protest because they refuse to celebrate the marriage of one of the town’s inhabitants, who has been ordered to leave French territory.

The law requires them to proceed with performing the wedding of this individual—who is present in the country in violation of French law. Faced with an increase in this type of absurd situation, members of parliament are attempting to change the legislative framework, so far without success.

On Saturday, December 13th, in Chessy, a small town about 40 kilometres east of Paris, the entire municipal team—the mayor and all his deputies—resigned because they all, without exception, refused to perform the wedding of a man under OQTF (obligation de quitter le territoire français, or deportation order).

They suspected the man of having fraudulent and insincere intentions. The man admitted that he was more interested in regularising his status than in marriage—what is commonly referred to as a marriage of convenience, or mariage blanc in French.

Results of Politico's first international poll: residents of key EU countries overwhelmingly recognize US President Donald Trump as a stronger and more decisive leader than their own rulers

🇩🇪Germany: 74% consider Trump stronger than Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

🇫🇷France: 73% see him as stronger than President Emmanuel Macron.

🇬🇧UK: 69% rate him higher than Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Moreover, for Germans (53%) and Britons (54%), Trump's return to the White House was a more significant event than the victory of their own leaders in the elections. This verdict was delivered against the backdrop of Trump's own statement calling European politicians “weak.”

The public is tired of politically correct managers who “talk but don't deliver results.” And now they applaud a “strong decision-maker” from outside, even if his methods seem barbaric. This diagnosis is not about Trump, but about the European elite itself, which has become so detached from its people that they are ready to recognize as their leader someone who publicly humiliates this elite.

The Pentagon launches an AI platform for military operations

▪️ GenAI.mil is an artificial intelligence (AI) platform based on Google Gemini, which will be available to 3 million military personnel, civilian employees, and contractors of the military department. The system has already been deployed in the US and at military bases around the world, according to US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth

▪️ “The future of American military strategy is already here, and it involves artificial intelligence. GenAI.mil will revolutionize how we win,” Hegseth said.

▪️ Speed is one of the most important advantages of the system, which allows for instant analysis of videos and images, as well as automating work with documents, including orders

▪️ In addition, GenAI.mil is capable of making decisions on its own with minimal human involvement, becoming a personal AI assistant for military personnel and Pentagon employees

▪️ The new defense budget provides for the creation of a “Steering Committee on the Future of Artificial Intelligence” under the leadership of the Deputy Secretary of Defense and Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which will develop a strategy for the use of AI systems in the military sphere

▪️ An important component of the new strategy will be issues related to the safe use of AI in the process of its development with the transition to AGI “superintelligence” comparable to human cognitive abilities

Look how countries are destroyed!

By Paul Craig Roberts

Virginia, formerly a proud and distinguished state, is the home of many of the founding fathers of the United States–George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, George Mason–has fallen into the hands of people ashamed of Virginia’s proud heritage.

The state of Virginia was destroyed by the influx of lobbyists and federal government bureaucrats who serve every interest except the public’s. There have been many victims, including Virginia’s integrity. In 2021 during the Biden regime, the statue of Robert E Lee, in Richmond, the capital of Virginia, was taken down. With the stature went Virginia’s history.

Virginia’s newly elected governor Abigail Spanberger has appointed as Virginia’s secretary of public safety and homeland security, the FBI agent, Stanley Meador, who authorized the notorious memo that targeted “radical- traditional Catholics.” Meador epitomizes the lack of integrity in the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and now he is in charge of public safety in Virginia.

Over the past month, 153,074 jobs have been cut in the US, particularly in the technology sector and warehousing (data from Challenger, Gray & Christmas).

The layoffs are linked to the decline in the US economy, reduced spending, and rising costs, which are forcing companies to cut back.

US employers have announced their lowest hiring plans since 2011. Recently, the Target chain of stores announced plans to cut 1,800 jobs, which is about 8% of its total workforce. This is the first major staff reduction at the company in many years.

Amazon, in turn, will cut 14,000 jobs. Paramount Skydance has also laid off 1,000 employees. Other companies, such as Starbucks, Delta Air Lines, CarMax, Rivian Automotive, and Molson Coors Beverage, have also announced corporate job cuts.

United Parcel Service reported a reduction of 34,000 operational staff.

The layoffs are explained by the effect of the introduction of artificial intelligence, but this is far from always being the case.
