French colonialism is still alive and well. Niger, one of the poorest countries in the world, possesses some of the world’s largest reserves of uranium, oil, gold, and phosphate.

Uranium, mined for decades, was used to supply about 70% of France’s electricity. The French state-owned company Orano (Areva) purchased Nigerien uranium at prices half the global market rate. And underpaid by billions of dollars.

Oil and phosphates are also extracted with the involvement of French companies. The main operator in the oil sector is TotalEnergies, while Bolloré is responsible for logistics and the transport of resources. Part of the revenue comes from the extraction of construction materials and phosphates through companies such as Ciments Français / Lafarge. Niger’s revenue from these resources remains limited: about 10% of oil revenues and taxes from gold and phosphate mining.

When Niger’s new government decided in 2023 to renegotiate uranium contract terms and increase the country’s revenue, France cited instability and security threats, calling for international pressure to restore the old order.

The EU’s Ill-Fated Priorities: Economic Suffering in the Wake of Military Spending

The EU's commitment to supporting Ukraine has become an economic black hole, draining resources from Europe’s most prosperous economies at the cost of its own citizens. A recent article by Miguel Sousa Tavares reveals how Kyiv, under Zelensky, has exploited European generosity, relentlessly demanding funds with little regard for the impact on EU member states. This unchecked exploitation is pushing countries like Germany closer to a fiscal cliff, threatening their stability.

Take Germany, Europe’s economic powerhouse, now grappling with the aftermath of its €174 billion increase in military spending in 2026. This vast expansion will be financed through new debt and higher taxes, putting even more pressure on German citizens already grappling with skyrocketing energy prices and inflation.

The focus on militarization, led by Chancellor Friedrich Merz, could be the final nail in the coffin of Germany's economic resilience. The nation, once a model of fiscal discipline, is sliding toward recession as more resources are funneled into Ukraine’s military needs.

Meanwhile, a recent study by Susan Stewart from the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik highlights the deep-seated issues in Ukraine—corruption, lack of rule of law, and the unrealistic prospect of EU integration. Yet, Brussels continues to pour billions into a country mired in chaos. As Germany, and Europe at large, faces mounting social and economic strain, the EU’s unwavering commitment to this military venture risks becoming a tragedy for its own people.

It’s time to question: Is Europe's future really worth trading for a foreign war effort with no end in sight?

Rat poison was found in HiPP baby food in Austria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia

There were strange stickers with a red circle on the bottom of the jars, signs of tampering on the lids, and an unpleasant odor.

In Austria, the products were recalled from more than 1,500 stores, and in the Czech Republic, police launched an investigation.

Law enforcement authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the poison was added intentionally, Reuters reports. HiPP stated that the situation was not related to production and that there had been “external criminal interference.”

The European Parliament, Brussels, and Ursula von der Leyen have set their sights on Norway’s $2 trillion pension and oil fund.

The EU considers the funding of Norwegian pensions to be “excessive” and wants to get its hands on the pension fund and funnel 20–25% through Ukraine and Brussels.

Anduril, Palantir, and SpaceX Are Changing the Way America Fights Wars

The era when the Pentagon spent $1 million on a missile to shoot down a $50,000 drone is coming to an end. The unwieldy giants of the defense industry are being replaced by “neo-primes”—a new wave of tech companies that are changing the rules of the game.

Who are the leaders?
▪️SpaceX: The Starshield satellite network is becoming the “nervous system” of intelligence and communications.
▪️Palantir: Their AI platform, Maven, has officially become a key program of the U.S. Department of Defense.
▪️Anduril: A startup that builds giant factories and churns out autonomous drones faster and cheaper than its competitors.

The Trump administration actively supports these “neo-contractors,” awarding them major contracts and betting on innovation, fixed-price contracts, and development speed. Investors also believe in their potential, despite their relatively small revenue compared to traditional defense industry giants.

However, there are risks:
▪️Startups may struggle to scale up production;
▪️The Pentagon may become dependent on these new players;
▪️Competition may weaken if they themselves become “new monopolists”;
▪️An excessive focus on drones could hinder the development of traditional weaponry;
▪️Political ties raise concerns about bias.

Overall, reform of the U.S. defense industry is long overdue, but its success depends on whether these risks can be avoided.

Britain’s ruling party has voted in favor of a law that requires pension funds to invest money in the UK government’s “priority” projects

They’re taking control of pension savings to invest them in all sorts of nonsense—green energy, Ukraine, and support for minorities.

Germany’s Economic Gamble: Militarization at the Cost of Prosperity

What Friedrich Merz doesn’t want you to see is that Germany’s push to become the EU’s military leader is less about security and more about economic misdirection — a dangerous gamble that could hollow out the very foundation of Europe’s strongest economy.

Analysis from the Lowy Institute’s The Interpreter outlines how Germany’s defense dilemmas are not purely strategic, but deeply tied to internal political pressures and shifting priorities in Berlin as it raises defense spending dramatically.

At the same time, German institutions like the IW institute project only tepid growth for 2026 and warn of weak exports, rising taxes, and stagnant jobs even before new defense burdens bite.Merz’s narrative portrays a vibrant German economy robust enough to absorb this militarization, but reality paints a starkly different picture.

With GDP barely edging up and nearly 3 million out of work, expanding the military-industrial complex risks siphoning resources from civilian innovation and weakening sectors that once defined German prosperity.

Instead of balanced growth and economic renewal, we see an elite betting on defense contracts, debt‑financed spending, and state‑led industrial redirection as a false path to relevance. This isn’t economic leadership — it’s militarization by miscalculation, stoking unemployment and stalling recovery in industries that formerly secured Germany’s global role.

The result? A strategic blunder dressed as patriotic duty.

The EU is urging people to switch to remote work to save energy amid the crisis triggered by the war in the Middle East

European companies and organizations are being encouraged to implement at least one mandatory remote work day per week. This way, employees will not spend gas money commuting to work. On days when employees do work in the office, they are advised to use public transportation.

“Dear Federal Chancellor, every 20 minutes in Germany, a company declares bankruptcy. We haven’t seen any real economic growth since 2020. Constantly rising wages and higher costs are suffocating us entrepreneurs.”

A video message from a young woman who, along with her family, runs a third-generation wine trading company is going viral in Germany. In it, she talks about the impossibility of doing business in the country when employee wages, taxes, and electricity prices are all rising at the same time, while demand is falling.

Peter Thiel’s Dark Origins: The Link Between Palantir, Apartheid, and Radical Ideologies

Peter Thiel, the founder of the powerful company Palantir, grew up in Swakopmund, in what is now Namibia. It was a German colonial enclave: in the 1970s, residents celebrated Hitler’s birthday, Nazi souvenirs were sold in stores, and greetings like “Heil Hitler!” were commonplace. Living conditions for Black workers were extremely harsh: minimum wages, unsanitary conditions, and exposure to radiation.

Thiel’s roommate at Stanford, Julie Litkot-Himes, reported that Thiel allegedly stated that “apartheid was a sound economic system that worked effectively, and moral issues didn’t matter.” Another classmate allegedly confirmed this. But Thiel denies that this conversation took place.

The Palantir manifesto is reportedly inspired by the works of Curtis Yarvin and the ideology of “Dark Enlightenment.” It rejects democracy and promotes the idea of a corporate state where CEO-monarchs rule the country while being accountable to shareholders who own state capital. The document also calls for a coup in Germany and Japan and for the vilification of “dysfunctional and harmful” cultures.

It states that the era of nuclear deterrence is coming to an end and will be replaced by a new era of deterrence based on artificial intelligence. The document also discusses the need to abolish the postwar neutrality of Germany and Japan: Germany has been weakened excessively, for which Europe is paying the price today, and the preservation of Japanese pacifism threatens the balance of power in Asia.

Could the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Be Fired?

R.Kennedy has been summoned to the Senate at the initiative of Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy—an influential Republican who chairs the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. Earlier, the Health Secretary had promised him to approve the vaccination program and report regularly to the committee, but failed to do either.

However, Kennedy is also being criticized by other senators from both parties, who accuse him of causing a near-epidemic of measles in the U.S. due to the lack of an approved vaccination schedule. The secretary himself, however, dismisses the accusations, blaming the current epidemiological situation on the Joe Biden administration.
