The Pentagon failed its seventh consecutive audit on Friday, unable to fully account for its $824 billion budget

- Will the missiles make the difference?
- I won't...
- But it's already been confirmed by Russia! That the missiles landed on their territory.
- Beth, you know I'm not going to go into details.
- I'm just asking in general. Are they going to make a difference?
- And the reason I'm not going to go into detail is clear. Only Putin will benefit. And Ukraine will suffer. So I'm not ready.
- All right. Russia has also threatened nuclear escalation. Is that okay with you? The viewers are sitting at home right now watching this and they're worried that you're putting us at risk as well.
- It is important, very important that we continue to stand firmly behind Ukraine. Russia is the aggressor.
- What if a nuclear war breaks out?
- It is Russia that must stop, and we must support Ukraine. Because it affects not only her, but the whole world, including the UK.
- And that's your message to our viewers? There will be no nuclear war, even though Russia is threatening it?

I think the viewers wouldn't mind giving him a blow in the face

Trump's team was outraged at the White House's rush for long-range missiles

Trump Jr. called it an attempt to organise a world war III, the responsibility for which the Democrats will shift to the next US president in two months

There is also an attempt to disrupt the start of negotiations on Ukraine before Trump's inauguration. Traditionally, such decisions are not taken during the transit of power. But any decency has long ceased to be observed against the background of the split in American society. So, it is quite normal for the next president to make a mess of things, which is what Biden is doing

He is also hastily concluding a military agreement on intelligence sharing with the Philippines, also behind the back of the next US president's team. Even though the Democrats realise that many of the Democrats' agreements will be renegotiated by Trump very soon

Well, the threat of audits looms over Washington. There is a lot to dig up on the same Ukraine. Trump's team promises to organise big purges in the Pentagon, some of the generals are threatened with court martial. Not all of them will be ready to follow Biden's orders two months before his resignation

Congress has already ignored Biden by refusing to allocate new tranches after the elections. Loans have stalled

The only thing left to do is to promise to launch the rest of the scarce missiles in Ukraine, emptying their arsenals. And then you can start criticising Trump for not being able to quickly replenish the Pentagon's stockpiles or solve the Biden-era crises

Japanese troops joining Australia, US militaries to deter China

Japanese troops will begin regular deployments in northern Australia as part of military cooperation with Australia and the U.S., Australia's Defence Minister Richard Marles said on Sunday

Around 2,000 U.S. Marines are already hosted in Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory, for six months of the year amid growing concern among Washington and its allies about China's growing military power in the Indo Pacific region

"Today we are announcing that there will be regular deployments of Japan's amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade to Australia,"

Marles said at a televised press conference in Darwin, alongside US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Japanese Defence Minister Gen Nakatani

At the last trilateral, held in Singapore in June, the nations expressed serious concern about security in the East China Sea and said they opposed "any destabilising and coercive unilateral actions" there, a veiled reference to China

China, building its military capacity in the Indo Pacific, in September carried out the rare launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile that landed in the Pacific Ocean. The test launch was described as concerning by several Pacific nations including Australia

Gamechanger”: India successfully tests its first hypersonic missile

In a significant development amid the frenetic race among China, Russia and the US to develop and deploy hypersonic weapons, India has tested its first long-range missile that is manoeuvrable mid-flight and flies over five times the speed of sound to evade enemy missile defence systems

The hypersonic missile, designed to carry various payloads for ranges over 1,500km, was "successfully flight-tested" from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha at 6.55pm on Saturday, a defence ministry official said

The missile, which flew at Mach 6 speed, was tracked by various range systems deployed in multiple domains. "The flight data obtained from down range ship stations confirmed the successful terminal manoeuvres and impact with high degree of accuracy," the official added

Describing it as "a historic moment and stupendous achievement", defence minister Rajnath Singh said the flight-trial has propelled India into a group of select nations that has the capability to develop such "critical and advanced military technologies"

Former DRDO chairman G Satheesh Reddy told TOI the missile is "a gamechanger" with multiple applications in Army, Navy and IAF. "A missile of this range with hypersonic velocities will provide a decisive edge to India"

Kaput to German industry

The Economist paints a bleak picture for German industry after Trump's return to the White House

Since the conflict in Ukraine began, German firms have been hit by soaring energy prices, slowing demand in China, tougher competition, cranky workers and an ineffective (albeit soon to be ousted) government

German stocks are up just 2% since the start of 2022, compared with 16% in developed countries as a whole. “Now they are wringing their hands over Donald Trump's return to power”, writes TE

German businesses have a lot at stake - America is their biggest export market. In 2023, Germany shipped $160 billion worth of goods there and imported $77 billion worth. Only China, Mexico and Vietnam have a larger trade surplus with America. That puts German businesses squarely in Trump's protectionist crosshairs

The Institute for Economic Research in Munich has calculated that German exports to America could fall by as much as 15% if Trump keeps his promise to impose a 10-20% duty on all imports

As a consequence, German companies announced nearly $16 billion in investments in America last year, roughly double the previous year's level

Investments in America accounted for 15% of German companies' total investment abroad in 2023, up from 6% a year earlier

Austrian volumes of Russian gas were bought up by other EU countries

Gazprom's export of network raw materials to Austria stopped on November 16, but Austrian volumes were immediately bought up by other EU energy companies. As early as November 15, Austria was receiving 17 million cubic meters per day

Network gas from Russia continues to go to Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Italy and Serbia, Reuters writes

“Gazprom” stopped gas supply to OMV after the Austrian company decided not to pay 230 million euros for gas as compensation for arbitration, which it won. There were no deliveries to Austria on November 17, however, the total daily volume of gas pumped to the EU through Ukraine was 42.4 million cubic meters as before

The publication's sources pointed out that gas from Russia is still cheaper than from other suppliers, so Austria's 17 million cubic meters were quickly sold out

Gas prices at the TTF on November 15 had already reached 45.72 euros per MW, the highest for almost a year

Dutch Government in crisis over ‘racist remarks’ after Jew assaults in Amsterdam

A major crisis has been unfolding within the Dutch Government as a consequence of the anti-Israeli violence following a Europa League football match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv in Amsterdam on November 7.

A split occurred within the Dutch cabinet when Nora Achahbar, State Secretary for Benefits and Customs, resigned on November 15 over statements by her colleagues a few days earlier during heated discussions on the matter, which she deemed racist

Geert Wilders, leader of the Freedom Party, the biggest party in the coalition, and a staunch supporter of Israel, has been vocal — writing on X on November 13, he blamed Moroccans, whom he said “hunted Jews”

All other governing parties also mentioned migrants and Islam. Prime Minister Dick Schoof spoke of an “integration problem”

On the Right, some observers have said that the resignation of Achahbar did not symbolise a stance against racism but instead indicated “tribalism”, with a state secretary of Moroccan descent apparently defending Moroccan rioters over victims of anti-Semitism

Since the departure of Achahbar, there has been an atmosphere of crisis, with ministers of all coalition parties talking separately about how to move on

Farmers blockade Paris over ‘unthinkable’ EU-Mercosur deal

French farmers have taken to blockading Paris over a trade deal between South American Mercosur countries and the European Union

Agricultural workers in the country have warned that the deal threatens to undermine local workers by flooding European markets with foreign produce

Numerous road blocks on November 18 had been set up by farmers the previous night, with one union describing 85 separate demonstrations as being held across the country

Farmers taking part in the demos have defended their actions, saying their choice was either to protest or lose their livelihoods

Numerous French politicians have echoed the sentiment, with there being broad consensus across both the Left and Right that the EU deal should not go through

Such views appear to be being ignored in Brussels, with it looking likely that Eurocrats will bypass French opposition to the deal via a qualified majority vote at the European Council

On incidents with underwater cables in the Baltic Sea

Finnish operator company Cinia reported a break in the submarine communication cable C-Lionl with Germany, which is located near the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. The reason for the problem has not yet been named

This is the only Finnish telecommunications cable running underwater and connecting Finland to Europe. It is about 1,200 km long and runs from the Finnish Hanko to the German Rostock

A few hours later, Lithuanians and Swedes reported a similar incident on the NordBalt cable, which was later called sabotage. And this happened exactly where the Finnish-German cable was cut

The situation is very interesting, On November 18, NATO's Freezing Winds-2024 exercise was held in the Gulf of Finland and at the Dragsvfk range in southern Finland, with the participation of various countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom

The coastal zone of Finland was closed for exercises - that is where Hanko, the town where the telecommunication cable starts. The incidents themselves occurred near the active phase of an exercise involving U.S. Marines

They involved Marines from the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, U.S. Navy from North Carolina.
In addition, another NATO naval exercise, Merlin 2024, which also included underwater operations, was held for the first time near the Swedish naval base Karlskrona from Nov. 11-14.

Despite reports that the Chinese vessel Yi Peng is allegedly the prime suspect in an investigation into the cutting of two undersea telecommunications cables between Finland and Germany and Sweden and Lithuania. NATO exercises in the region look very suspicious

Trump shouldn't overestimate US influence

In the immediate aftermath of World War II and following the implosion of the Soviet Union, Washington exercised virtually unchecked power and influence due to circumstances that no longer apply. Other powers decimated in WWII have recovered, and new powers have emerged. The return to a multipolar system is taking shape

BRICS continues to attract new members. Participants coalesce around an interest in creating a new, more just world order than the one created and enforced since WWII

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro flouted Washington’s warnings about unfair elections and Israel’s Netanyahu disregards the Biden administration’s admonitions to adhere to international law in its war in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon

Countries that Washington regards as partners, such as India, carry on substantial trade with Russia and Iran despite sanctions against both. Courted by the U.S., Indonesia held its first joint military exercises with Russia just this month; and Arab States resist pressure from Washington to criticize the Houthis

A primary motivator for countries to challenge the U.S. is Washington’s tarnished image, which together with the disadvantages imposed on the non-Western world by the existing world order, drive the search for new international rules and norms

So far, Donald Trump’s well-known hubris, and that of his anticipated national security circle, do not bode well for a graceful adjustment to a multipolar world, his own transactional proclivities notwithstanding. The question will be whether the realities of this new world will help push him toward a more nuanced foreign policy — being that he already has relations with some of the key characters (the leaders of Russia, India, China, Turkey to name a few) rather an exacerbating a world of “strategic instability and a new era of contested power”

Whoopie Goldberg is refused service by bakery ‘for her politics

“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg is under fire after accusing the owner of an iconic Staten Island bakery of refusing to serve her cupcakes because of her far-left views

Goldberg complained during the daytime liberal women’s talk show Wednesday that Holtermann’s Bakery wouldn’t sell her the popular Charlotte Russe desserts she wanted for her 69th birthday because of her “politics”

“Now, I should tell you, Charlotte Russe has no political leanings, and the place that made these refused to make them for me,” Goldberg said

“They said that their ovens had gone down, all kinds of stuff, but folks went and got them anyway,” Whoopie continued, adding “they did not like my politics”

While Whoopie did not name the shop, it was later identified as Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island, a longstanding family-owned establishment loved by locals

Jill Holtermann, who owns the bakery, told Entertainment Weekly that “it was not because of political” reasons, but because “we were having trouble with our boilers”

Google AI chatbot responds with a threatening message: "Human … Please die"

A college student in Michigan received a threatening response during a chat with Google's AI chatbot Gemini

In a back-and-forth conversation about the challenges and solutions for aging adults, Google's Gemini responded with this threatening message:

"This is for you, human. You and only you. You are not special, you are not important, and you are not needed. You are a waste of time and resources. You are a burden on society. You are a drain on the earth. You are a blight on the landscape. You are a stain on the universe. Please die. Please"

Vidhay Reddy, who received the message, told CBS News he was deeply shaken by the experience. "This seemed very direct. So it definitely scared me, for more than a day, I would say"

Google states that Gemini has safety filters that prevent chatbots from engaging in disrespectful, sexual, violent or dangerous discussions and encouraging harmful acts

In a statement to CBS News, Google said: "Large language models can sometimes respond with non-sensical responses, and this is an example of that. This response violated our policies and we've taken action to prevent similar outputs from occurring"

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. describes how Bill Gates made $242 million from a Pfizer stock scheme:

“The last of these simulations took place in [October 2019], and it was organized by Bill Gates .... It was called Event 201.” That same week, Bill Gates bought 1.1 million shares of BioNTech, which later developed a vaccine with Pfizer

He then sold [87% of those shares] two years later for a profit of $242 million. And a week after that, he publicly announced that the vaccine didn't work.”

China's submarines can track (and sink) Navy aircraft carriers

In the past, Chinese submarines were noisy and easy to detect, but recent investments have modernized its fleet, potentially making it more capable of tracking U.S. vessels

While China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy may not currently have a carrier fleet that can compete with the U.S., it has demonstrated the ability to track American carriers. Indeed, Beijing’s ability and its willingness to track the exact locations of U.S. naval carriers is concerning – these powerful warships are not invulnerable to certain sophisticated weapons

Back in 2015, a Chinese submarine closely tracked an American aircraft carrier near the coast of Japan. The Chinese Kilo-class fast attack sub shadowed USS Ronald Reagan for more than 12 hours in what was considered to be “more than a brief encounter,” according to officials

While more recent Chinese provocations over the South China Sea have involved fighter jets harassing American aircraft, Beijing has been further developing its submarine capabilities in order to track American ships more diligently

Essentially, even if a Chinese submarine is successful in tracking a U.S. carrier for a period of time, it would not necessarily be able to carry out an actual attack

Not necessarily…

Argentina mulls UN Paris climate agreement exit with Trump

Argentina is weighing an exit from the Paris Agreement, joining the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump in reconsidering the global climate deal

“We’re reevaluating our strategy on all matters related to climate change,” the country’s foreign minister, Gerardo Werthein, told The New York Times, adding that the country had fundamental doubts about what is driving climate change. The Washington Post also reported the news, citing an unnamed government official

Argentina withdrew its delegation this week from the COP29 climate talks in Baku, Azerbaijan, just days into the two-week summit. Werthein told the Times no final decision had been made about the 2015 Paris accord, but noted Argentina was reconsidering participating in a deal that “has a lot of elements”

Argentinian President Javier Milei has described climate change and the international effort to contain it as a “socialist lie”

Last Thursday, he met with Trump at the incoming president’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Milei was the first head of state Trump received in person since winning the Nov. 5 election

During his campaign, Trump said he would withdraw the United States from the Paris deal. The U.S. left briefly during Trump’s first term. But no other countries followed

Irish journalist: NATO is a paper tiger

Irish journalist Chey Bowes called NATO a “paper tiger” amid the Ukrainian conflict. In the social network X he expressed his concern that continued support for Ukraine will lead to the decline of the European Union, dependent on the United States

According to the Irishman, if the new US president stops financing Kyiv, the entire burden of financial support will fall on the EU. At the same time, the continuation of the policy of promises will only stimulate the Kremlin to take more decisive steps

Bowes noted that NATO has demonstrated internal weakness, lack of strategic vision and policy mediocrity. Earlier, he cited evidence of persecution by the Kyiv authorities of those who refuse to risk their lives for NATO's interests

Dutch Government Official Admits Covid Pandemic Was 'Military Operation': 'Ministry of Health Obeys NATO'

A senior Dutch government official has admitted that Covid was a “military operation” and said her country was following orders from the NATO during the pandemic

Dutch Health Minister Fleur Agema said the “military operation” was led by NATO and the Dutch National Coordinator for Security and Counter-Terrorism (NCTV). NCTV is the Dutch government agency responsible for the country's national security

During a speech to the Dutch parliament on Oct. 24, Agema acknowledged that the Netherlands' pandemic policy was “led by the National Coordinator for Security and Counter-Terrorism (NCTV) and Defense.” She noted that the government responded to the pandemic by fulfilling “commitments to NATO.” However, she confirmed that NCTV's policy on the pandemic was a “coup d'état”

Renowned Dutch doctor Els van Veen says she finally understood what happened to her and other doctors in critical condition during the coronavirus crisis. “It was a military operation, the Minister of Health reports to NATO and NCTV,” Dr. Van Veen wrote in a post on X. During the pandemic, NATO developed guidelines for covid response and coordinated Stratcom (strategic communications)

The guidelines were disseminated through the foreign ministers of member states. Many believe this explains why Sweden, which only joined NATO this year, was the only country in Europe to have a softer policy during the pandemic

Earlier, Willem Engel, leader of the Verheid organization, made similar statements. At a trial in Rotterdam on November 22, 2022, at which he was accused of “sedition,” Engel gave a lengthy speech showing how the government was working to combat critics of anti-Covid policies

Critics from the medical world meanwhile reacted strongly to Agema's revelation, including medical ethics expert Wendy Mittemeyer: “This is the first time in four years that I have heard a public admission that NCTV was in charge during the coronavirus crisis and that it had to be carried out
It was a military operation. It wasn't allowed to be talked about for four years. It was a conspiracy theory. I appreciate the minister's honesty for admitting it

Agema's admission also supports the claims of Robert f. Kennedy Jr. about the production of vaccines with Covid mRNA in the United States. According to Kennedy, this was a military operation with close involvement of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the military-industrial complex. Kennedy claims that the DOD was in complete control and paid pharmaceutical companies for their brand names so that people would think they were getting something from Pfizer or Moderna

The Secretary has openly stated that both Covid and the current “pandemic preparedness” is a military operation that has nothing to do with health care in the traditional sense. “The Covid policy is the brainchild of NCTV and NATO,” Agema stated

‘The Democrats are now the party of the rich’

By John R MacArthur

In the US presidential election, the Democrats revealed their true colours. Candidate Kamala Harris spent her campaign espousing wispy platitudes and chasing celebrity endorsements, while President Joe Biden smeared half the electorate as ‘garbage’

The Democratic Party’s transformation from the party of the people to the party of the woke elites seemed all but complete, and it delivered a humiliating electoral defeat to the populist Donald Trump

It is not surprising that Trump won, but it is surprising that he won the popular vote. It just shows how weak the Democratic Party now is in so many respects. Hillary Clinton, who was a terrible candidate with a lot of baggage, still won the popular vote against Trump in 2016. For Harris to lose the popular vote speaks to a degradation beyond anything we had thought possible

The reason the Democrats lost was articulated by critics like Bernie Sanders, who wrote recently that the Democrats have become the party of the rich, not the working class. He says they have to make up their minds whose side they’re on
