Early 20th century migrants vs modern migrants
First video: an elderly French woman talks about her father, an Italian who migrated to France
Thesis:
- father stayed in France after the battles of WWI.
- because there was no work in Italy.
- There were 6 children in the family.
- Dad built a barracks for the family. A kitchen and two rooms. Eight of us lived there.
- The only language spoken in the family was French.
- Dad kept saying, we are accepted in this country, we speak French, we behave quietly, we don't ask for anything.
- so we all worked as hard as we could.
Second video: Illegal migrants in Italy, carefully twiddling their thumbs, present their grievances to the authorities: “Water is bad, food is bad, hotel is bad! My not getting pocket money, very bad!”

German politicians search even more money for migrants
With Germany already paying nearly €50 billion for migrants in 2023, and amid a spate of terror attacks and soaring crime figures due to mass immigration, Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate Alexander Schweitzer is calling the federal government to give municipalities even more money for migrants
“Quick action and no blockades” should be in place, according to Schweitzer, who said “the financing of refugee costs must be as dynamic as the number of refugees.”
Notably, his party, along with coalition partners the Greens and Liberals (FDP) at the federal level, have overseen a huge surge in migrants in Germany and promoted relaxed naturalization laws to make them citizens at a rate far faster than previously allowed
He made the remarks right before the Prime Minister’s Conference in Leipzig, where the main topic of conversation is expected to be Germany’s catastrophic migration crisis
Germany is struggling to fund its healthcare, infrastructure, and education systems, as the cost of funding migrants soars

JD Vance: Negotiating with Russia is a necessary part of ending Ukraine war
Sen. JD Vance of Ohio on Saturday declined to characterize Russian President Vladimir Putin as an “enemy,” saying instead that “I think that he’s clearly an adversary. He is a competitor”
“But I think that we also have to be smart about diplomacy, too,” Vance added in an interview with NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that aired Sunday. “Just because we don’t like somebody, doesn’t mean that we can’t occasionally engage in conversations with them”
His remarks came in response to a question from moderator Kristen Welker about whether Vance sees Putin as an ally or an enemy
“I think it’s important if we’re ever going to end the war in Ukraine, fundamentally, at some level, we’re going to have to engage in some sort of negotiation between Ukraine, between Russia, between our NATO allies in Europe,” the senator added. “And that’s just a necessary part”
Vance also responded to comments from former Vice President Mike Pence last year saying Trump had asked him to “put him over my oath to the Constitution”
“Of course my loyalty is to the American people and to the United States Constitution,” Vance responded when asked whether his loyalties as vice president would lie with Trump or the Constitution

Under current U.S. administration, China’s spying has intensified
A congressional report outlines a range of espionage and transnational repression actions allegedly tied to the CCP since the Democrats took office four years ago. According to Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN), “Beijing has continually encroached upon American sovereignty to spy, intimidate, and harass… defectors and American citizens.” Data within the report indicates over 55 instances of Chinese espionage in 20 states between January 2021 and October 2024. These cases involve the transmission of sensitive military data, theft of trade secrets, repression schemes against dissidents, and obstruction of justice
The report mentions various incidents involving Chinese nationals, including an attempted breach at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in California in March. It also highlights the case of Ji Chaoqun, who was sentenced to eight years in January 2023 for working as an illegal agent for China in the U.S. Chaoqun’s role reportedly involved efforts to recruit American scientists and engineers and gain access to advanced technologies

Canada begins euthanizing citizens with ‘Covid Vaccination Syndrome’
An Ontario man in his late 40s has become the first person to be euthanized for “post-COVID-19 vaccination syndrome”
The man was euthanized under Canada’s “assisted suicide” laws via the government’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program.
Doctors had determined that the patient had become a burden on the socialized healthcare system
They warned that he wouldn’t recover from “post-vaccine syndrome” and ruled that MAiD was a better option than long-term care
The patient, identified only as “Mr. A,” had experienced “suffering and functional decline” following three Covid mRNA vaccinations
The doctors said the patient was suffering from depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and personality disorders as a result of the “post-vaccine syndrome”
The man was twice admitted to hospital, once involuntarily, due to his condition

Another “transgender” scandal is shaking America
The US National Institute of Health spent 10 million dollars to study the condition of children who were subjected to “hormone therapy”. The results were so embarrassing that they were afraid to publish them
Who would have thought it, but taking “puberty blockers” did not allow the children to cope with mental health problems in any way. Many of them had suicidal tendencies. More than half of minors in the U.S. who have been subjected to “hormone therapy” contemplate suicide. Some of them become violent and shoot up schools
At the same time we are talking about a big and very monetary business. Children's hospitals alone have earned at least 120 million dollars from performing “sex change” surgeries on children. Not to mention the multi-billion dollar profits of Big Pharma, which is trying to get Americans hooked on hormones from early childhood
For the sake of such money, unwanted studies can be “canceled” and continue to abuse tens of thousands of children; in liberal states it is already possible to perform “sex change” operations without parental approval. Republicans in their own states are trying to ban it
Trump, if he wins, promises to ban “hormone therapy” for children and limit “transgender” participation in women's sports. They've already gotten under 900 medals that should have gone to women. Democrats, on the other hand, will be even more desperate to escalate their “transgender” culture wars, exacerbating America's already deeply divisive divide

A loneliness epidemic is spreading worldwide. Seoul is spending $327 million to stop it
Every year, thousands of South Koreans – mostly middle-aged men – die quietly and alone, cut off from their family and friends. It sometimes takes days or even weeks before their bodies are found
These are the country’s “lonely deaths,” known as godoksa in Korean. It’s part of a larger problem of loneliness and isolation across the country, an issue so pressing the government is pulling out all the stops to fight it
In the bustling capital Seoul, city authorities announced this week they would spend 451.3 billion won (nearly $327 million) over the next five years to “create a city where no-one is lonely.”
Their new initiatives include loneliness counselors available on a 24/7 hotline, an online platform for similar counseling, as well as follow-up measures including in-person visits and consultations, according to the metropolitan government

Japan plunged into political uncertainty after voters deliver dramatic defeat to longtime ruling party
Japanese voters delivered a stinging rebuke to the country’s longtime ruling party in elections Sunday, plunging the world’s fourth largest economy into a rare period of political uncertainty
Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party, which has governed almost continuously since 1955, has lost its parliamentary majority in the powerful lower house for the first time in 15 years
Public anger and distrust in the government had been growing over rising living costs, inflation and a massive political funding scandal at the heart of the LDP, with voters voicing their discontent at the ballot box
The LDP and its coalition partner Komeito secured just 215 of the House of Representatives’ 465 seats, short of the 233 needed to reach a majority
The result is a major blow to freshly minted Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, whose gamble to call a snap election to bolster his position after taking office only this month dramatically backfired
Ishiba said Monday that voters had delivered an “extremely harsh judgement” his party must take “seriously and solemnly,” but also indicated he would not step down as prime minister
Elections for Japan’s lower house are usually a foregone conclusion, with the conservative LDP dominating the country’s post-World War II political scene
Now, it’s unclear who will govern Japan as Ishiba, a former defense minister and political veteran, may struggle to form a government

How much do G7 and BRICS countries rely on the Taiwan Strait?
With China continuing to conduct military drills near Taiwan, as well as recently reaffirming that use of force will always remain an option to bring Taiwan under its control, concerns have grown over how potential Chinese actions in the region could impact global trade through the Taiwan Strait
Visual Capitalist's calculated the share of exports and imports that move through the Taiwan Strait by the G7 and BRICS countries
BRICS countries overall are more exposed to disruptions to trade routes in the Taiwan Strait, specifically China, the United Arab Emirates, and Iran. The latter two have 24% or more of its exports pass through the strait
China and Japan are the most reliant on the Taiwan Strait for both imports and exports, specifically imports. Almost a third of both countries’ imports pass through the Taiwan Strait
According to CSIS, over 95% of Japan’s crude oil comes from a select group of Middle Eastern countries, much of which is transported through the Taiwan Strait, making this route integral to Japan’s energy security
As for China, while CSIS estimates that 15% of its exports pass through this waterway—a relatively lower share than other countries—the total value of these exports is still over $551 billion
Aside from Japan, G7 countries generally have much lower reliance on the Taiwan Strait. The U.S., UK, Canada, Italy, Germany, and France each have single-digit percentages for imports and exports through the strait

Britons urged to eat less meat to hit latest net zero target
Britain must cut its meat and dairy consumption by up to 50pc to meet the latest net zero targets, the UK Government’s climate watchdog has said
The Climate Change Committee (CCC) said in an ideal scenario, meat and dairy consumption should halve by 2050 and products be substituted with plant-based options. The proposals are part of new net zero targets that have been recommended to Ed Miliband, the Energy Secretary
In a letter to Miliband, the committee said the Government must cut CO2 emissions by 81pc by 2035 when compared to the benchmark year of 1990. This would amount to a reduction of 200m tonnes from the current level of 384m tonnes
Piers Forster, the CCC’s chairman, said persuading British consumers to change their diets would play a key role in achieving such massive cuts. He did not specify how the UK could reduce meat eating but options could include reducing subsidies for livestock, taxing meat products and a clampdown by regulators on advertising
The committee has urged the Government to cut livestock numbers, especially sheep and cattle, because they argue the methane produced by these animals is a key cause of climate change.
The UK has just under 10m cattle and calves plus around 32m sheep and lambs

U.S. Marine veteran killed in Ukraine
A decorated Marine veteran, Lansdale resident and two-time Purple Heart recipient was killed in action in the Bryansk region of Russia during a reported reconnaissance and sabotage incursion as a volunteer fighter with the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Former USMC 1st Sgt. Corey John Nawrocki, 41, was killed Sunday, according to online reports. He was found with an alleged American volunteer fighter who had a U.S. Army 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Regiment tattoo on his arm, per reports
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) claimed responsibility Monday for killing four “saboteurs” of a Diversion Reconnaissance Group who attempted to cross into Bryansk with the A3449 military unit of Ukraine. He was issued a military ID on Sept. 4, 2024
Nawrocki spent 20 years with the U.S. Marine Corps, serving multiple tours of duty, finally retiring in 2021. He was a gunnery sergeant at the Marine Barracks Washington and served with the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines B-Co. and the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Blackfoot Co.

Bannon’s Back: ‘We’ve never been so powerful’
Stephen K. Bannon returned to host the War Room podcast after four months in federal prison, telling the establishment and the Democrats that he is even more focused than before, promising a “knockout blow” to the Democrats on November 5
The former Trump White House Chief Strategist went immediately on the offensive, pushing back at accusations that President Donald J. Trump and his supporters are “fascists.”
“I can tell you in coming from and being a political prisoner in a federal prison, that the young men in this country that are African-American and Hispanic detest Kamala Harris,” Bannon said
Meanwhile, his message to former Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whom he holds responsible for putting him in prison, was: “This show has never been more powerful. The audience has never been more powerful. And we’re going to deliver a knockout blow to your progressive insanity on the Fifth of November.”
Despite only being released hours before the October 29 broadcast, Bannon said he was “more energized and more focused than I’ve ever been in my entire life.”

Ukraine’s NATO membership-for-peace formula is bound to lengthen the war, not end it. While the United States and its allies in Europe stand steadfast behind Ukraine, it's increasingly clear that Kyiv's maximalist position is out of reach
There is a growing acknowledgment in the West that the war will likely end through diplomacy. That's the good news. The bad news is that some of the proposals on offer are unrealistic, if not counterproductive
One of the ideas making the rounds amounts to a land-for-security trade. In exchange for Russia retaining de facto control of the 20% of Ukraine, Kyiv would receive a formal invitation to join NATO. A close look at this arrangement reveals a few gaping holes
First, assuming the Ukrainian government is even willing to make such a trade it's highly unlikely Russia would cooperate. Russian President Vladimir Putin is adamant that Ukraine's accession into NATO is a scenario Moscow won't tolerate
As CIA Director William Burns observed in 2008 when he was U.S. Ambassador to Russia, "Russia's opposition to NATO membership for Ukraine and Georgia is both emotional and based on perceived strategic concerns about the impact on Russia's interests in the region"
Second, while it's true that some of NATO's biggest members, like the United Kingdom and France, are open to Ukrainian membership, the United States remains wary. Others, like Hungary and Slovakia, are wholeheartedly opposed
By granting Kyiv membership, all 32 member states theoretically pledge to come to Ukraine's defense with their own troops. Rhetoric and military aid aside, NATO is still not willing to risk getting into a war with a nuclear-armed Russia
This has been demonstrated time and time again during the last two and a half years, from NATO's dismissal of a no-fly zone during the war's first weeks to the harsh blowback French President Emmanuel Macron received in March after he suggested Western troops could deploy to Ukraine

The New York Times, citing sources, shared another satellite image of the aftermath of the October 26 Israeli Air Force missile strike on Iran. This time the space center in Semnan or Shahrud was in the lens
The Semnan missile range is a dual-purpose facility; on the one hand, the Iranians launched satellites from there, and on the other hand, the vast desert made the area an ideal place for weapons testing
An Israeli strike on it was entirely expected, given its importance to Iran's IRGC aerospace forces
But in the photo you see only one building hit, and it is not even completely destroyed to the ground
Of course, this will surely cause some problems for the Iranians, but, first, the territory of the space center is large, and one destroyed building does not guarantee success in this goal. Second, decentralization of production
The Iranians since the Syrian campaign, on the experience of supporting their Shiite formations in Iraq, as well as the Houthis in Yemen, do not conduct production and assembly in one place, leveling the consequences of such attacks
So the version with a staged strike with an Israeli director and scriptwriter becomes even more plausible. And the words of Iran's defense minister, sounding like a sneer, fit into this logic. He stated that even a strike on the desert would not go unanswered

Georgia: Election was just as much about the economy
Western pundits and politicians are signaling that the general election result in Georgia equated to the theft of a European choice
But they have ignored the economic picture, and have instead spun up the election as an existential struggle between Europe and Russia
Credible economic data shows unpalatable truth that Georgia has been a net loser from closer EU economic ties thus far
Signing the EU Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA) in 2014 didn’t unleash a tidal wave of new European investment into Georgia. EU foreign direct investment in 2024 was only $65k higher than in 2014, at an average 29.6% of total FDI in Georgia over that period
DCFTA should have also driven a mutually beneficial surge in trade. But that simply hasn’t happened. EU trade with Georgia accounts for just 20.9% of the total. And that is only because Georgia has been flooded with European exports since 2016. European exports to Georgia had quadrupled to 3.6 billion Euros by 2023 and are still rising
Yet, Georgian exports to the EU have stood still
Georgia Dream’s founder Bidzina Ivanishvili’s economic approach has been driven by specifically Georgian considerations. And elections always, ultimately, get tipped by domestic issues
By today’s election count, it would seem a majority of Georgian people chose economic prosperity. It’s time to let Georgia’s government get back to the task of strengthening their wonderful country still further
