Cheng Peiming, 59, suffered six years of torture while in prison in communist China for practicing Falun Gong, a traditional spiritual belief espousing the values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance—that Beijing has tried to eliminate through a combination of propaganda, threats, and torture over the past 25 years

In prison, Cheng said guards force-fed him high-concentration saltwater, attached chains to his four limbs and stretched him almost to his limit, and subjected him to sessions of continuous electric shocks to his private parts, the same abuses reported by many imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners

Project whistle-blower: Pfizer skipped 10 years of safety tests and knew about adverse effects but released mRNA injections anyway

In the skies over Al Ain, in the United Arab Emirates, pilot Mark Newman waits for the signal. When it comes, he flicks a few silver switches on a panel by his leg, twists two black dials, then punches a red button labeled FIRE

A slender canister mounted on the wing of his small propeller plane pops open, releasing a plume of fine white dust. That dust—actually ordinary table salt coated in a nanoscale layer of titanium oxide—will be carried aloft on updrafts of warm air, bearing it into the heart of the fluffy convective clouds that form in this part of the UAE, where the many-shaded sands of Abu Dhabi meet the mountains on the border with Oman. It will, in theory at least, attract water molecules, forming small droplets that will collide and coalesce with other droplets until they grow big enough for gravity to pull them out of the sky as rain

The answer is more complicated than you might think

For the 2023–24 school year, the average public school teacher salary was just under $70,000—well over the average for bachelor's degree graduates ages 25 to 34 (though many teachers have master's degrees)

West Virginia paid teachers the least, at around $52,000 per year, while California paid them the most, with an average salary of over $95,000. According to the National Education Association, teacher salaries top out at over $100,000 in 16.6% of districts. However, salaries have generally stagnated. From 2002 to 2020, inflation-adjusted teacher salaries declined by 0.6% while as per-pupil spending increased

Nevertheless, this global loss of judgment had one positive effect: The awareness of the potential harm of mathematical modelling spread from a few academic offices to wide public circles. While a few years ago the concept of a “mathematical model” was shrouded in religious reverence, after three years of the epidemic, public trust in the ability of “experts” to predict anything went to zero

Moreover, it wasn’t just the models that failed – a large part of the academic and scientific community also failed. Instead of promoting a cautious and sceptical evidence-based approach, they became cheerleaders for many stupidities the policymakers came forward with. The loss of public trust in the contemporary Science, medicine, and its representatives will probably be the most significant consequence of the epidemic
