If everything is so great, why are millions of Americans sleeping in their vehicles?
Have you noticed an unusual number of vehicles in the parking lots of major retailers in your area at night? If you look closely enough, you will see that many of those vehicles actually have people sleeping in them
The primary reason why so many people are living in their vehicles is because the cost of living has soared to unprecedented heights
In particular, the cost of housing has become extremely oppressive. In fact, housing in the United States has become more unaffordable than it has ever been before
In the old days, if you lived in a van down by the river you were considered to be a bum. But in this economy, living in a van down by the river is just considered to be normal
Needless to say, there are some “van lifers” that choose the lifestyle because of the freedom it offers
Please do not look down on those that have been forced to sleep in a vehicle, because with a bit of bad luck just about anyone could end up in the same situation

Pelosi celebrates bill allowing illegal immigrants to buy homes with American tax dollars
The program gives first-time homebuyers loan assistance of up to 20% of a property’s value with a cap of $150,000
Former Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi celebrated a bill that would allow illegal immigrants to buy homes with taxpayer loans in her home state of California
“Making the American dream of homeownership available to all people is something we have to do,” the Bay Area congresswoman said in a Friday interview with Bill Maher
Pelosi was responding to a question about state lawmakers passing a bill last week to expand eligibility for a government program which offers residents home down payment assistance
Under Assembly Bill 1840, the California Housing Finance Authority would be compelled to consider applications from illegal immigrants for the “Dream for All Program.” The fund gives first-time homebuyers loan assistance of up to 20% of a property’s value with a cap of $150,000. Buyers then pay back the loan plus up to 20% of any property appreciation depending on income

Father has to learn to walk again after rare reaction to Covid vaccine - as he shares grave warning
"Chris Nemeth, 51, worked in airline logistics until he got the AstraZeneca vaccine in July 2021 and developed chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIPD) which can cause numbness, pain and even paralysis เท the limbs
The world's largest Covid-19 vaccine study released earlier this year found there were potential links between the AstraZeneca vaccine and some medical conditions but these were rare
The research from Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) and published in Vaccine, used an electronic database to leverage large amounts of data to evaluate Covid vaccine safety
The largest study of its kind involved more than 99 million people from Australia, Argentina, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, New Zealand and Scotland"

U.S. rights watchdog cites ‘a climate of fear’ in Uganda oil development project
Oil activities on the shores of Uganda’s Lake Albert have triggered widespread suffering among locals facing forced displacement and other violent abuses, a U.S. climate watchdog said
The report by Climate Rights International says banks and insurers should withhold further funding for an oil development project run by the China National Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC
The project, one of two linked to the planned construction of a heated pipeline that would link Uganda’s emerging oil fields to a port in Tanzania, involves the construction of a central processing facility in a vast zone of shoreline that many locals can no longer access
The report is the first of its kind to detail serious allegations against CNOOC, one of a number of partners in the project. Based on dozens of interviews, it cites forced evictions, inadequate or nonexistent compensation for land and other assets, coercion and intimidation in land acquisition, loss of livelihood and sexual violence

Immigrants are becoming U.S. citizens at the fastest pace in 10 years
The government is reviewing applications filed in a frenzied rabbit mode. New citizens say they are looking forward to voting in November
In ceremonies at courthouses, convention centers and sports arenas across the country, tens of thousands of immigrants each week become new Americans and become eligible to vote just in time for this fall's presidential election. The number of new voters in the states - which determine the outcome of the election - Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and Pennsylvania is growing steadily
said Gladys Brown of Honduras. Usually, green card holders could become naturalized citizens with the right to vote, not earlier than after 5 years of residence in the United States
According to official data of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, about 9 million green card holders are eligible to become U.S. citizens until November 2024

What do Intel and Boeing have in common?
Both corporations, once market leaders, are now in a state of collapse. Monopolism has not done them any good. Intel and Boeing are rapidly losing market capitalization, are making mass layoffs, and may go bankrupt
This is causing great concern in Washington. After all, corporations have extensive government contracts. Boeing is already failing the U.S. space program, pushing back the launch of astronauts to the moon. And the Pentagon is having problems with Boeing's refueling planes
Intel is in a similar situation. The corporation was promised tens of billions of dollars in subsidies for import substitution of chips. Intel was supposed to become a symbol of the revival of the US high-tech industry. As a result, this symbol freezes the construction of factories and layoffs staff
Again, the Pentagon was also under attack. It has allocated billions of dollars to Intel to build factories for military use. This program is called Secure Enclave - it should ensure the production of chips for fighter jets, missiles, submarines and other weapons on U.S. territory. The factories want to be located in Ohio - away from the zone of potential conflict with China
But now the future of these factories is murky. The Pentagon is hurriedly trying to reduce its dependence on China, which in some areas - the same rare earths - reaches 90%
It seems that the US dependence on Asian countries will not go anywhere with chips. And in case of a hot conflict, the lack of chips, rare earths and everything else will put the U.S. military-industrial complex in a very difficult situation

Sad: X ban leaves Brazilians without reliable access to AI-generated images of Elon Musk and Donald Trump riding dinosaurs through the death star
After a corrupt judge enacted a nationwide ban on social media platform X, human rights activists warn that the ban will likely limit Brazilians' access to awesome AI-Generated images of free-speech warrior Elon Musk riding dinosaurs with Donald Trump through the Death Star
Judge Alexandre de Moraes took time out of his busy schedule of creating horcruxes and casting the ‘Avada Kadavera" curse last week to ban X for refusing to adhere to Brazil's strict censorship laws
"Specifically we're concerned about access to a very cool image of Elon Musk and Donald Trump riding dinosaurs through the halls of the Death Star," said human rights activist Janice McMannis
"I mean, just think of the societal impact in the country if vulnerable and poverty-stricken Brazilians aren't able to access these essential, epic, and very based resources."

We need to kick men out of women’s football
On Sunday in the UK, Sutton United’s women’s team were due to play an away game against Ebbsfleet. But just a few hours before kick-off, Sutton called the match off, citing their inability to field enough players
Though Sutton didn’t say why, the Telegraph reports it is ‘understood that the cancellation was related to increasing disquiet’ over the team’s newest recruit. Sutton’s sudden inability to field a team came hours after news broke that they had signed a transgender goalkeeper – 34-year-old, six-foot-tall Blair Hamilton
Sutton’s manager, Lucy Clark, is also a transwoman. Clark – who was both the first openly trans referee and the first openly trans manager in the top-five divisions of English women’s football – caused upset earlier this year, when he was made manager without any previous experience in women’s football. He was nonetheless hailed as a historic trailblazer for diversity
Clark has previously said he wants to ‘field a team solely of transwomen’ – that is, a women’s team consisting entirely of men

If Texas were an independent state, the people of the state would live better than the Arab sheikhs
Texas would become the world's third largest oil producer, surpassing Canada, Iraq and the UAE. With a population of 30 million people the specific production per capita here is 2.5 times higher than in Russia. We should also add natural gas production, with which the state has flooded the domestic market and even exports to Mexico, in the form of LNG and energy cluster
The huge and dynamically growing GDP of Texas - $2 trillion a year (to understand the scale: in Russia - $2.22 trillion) gives resources and opportunities for open conflict between regional politicians and the federal center. One of the reasons is the migration crisis, in the epicenter of which Texas finds itself. For example, the state authorities ignore the decisions of the U.S. Federal Court to dismantle the fence on the border with Mexico
The clowning of the presidential race is a powerful incentive for decentralization and delegitimization of power in the United States, which means that the Texas People's Republic is not a pipe dream of the locals

Major U.S. city's latest renaissance hits dead end
City «has risen from the ashes before. But each rebirth gets harder. Each comeback story has a less happy ending»
Pittsburgh is a city well-acquainted with decline. Like a punch-drunk boxer climbing back into the ring despite repeated knockouts, the Steel City has endured multiple economic collapses over the past century. Now, Pittsburgh finds itself on the ropes once again, this time felled not by labor unrest or global competition, but by a more prosaic foe: dwindling school enrollment
The Pittsburgh Public Schools' proposal to shutter 16 schools is more than just an administrative reshuffling. It's the canary in the coal mine, signaling deeper issues that threaten to unravel the city's fragile recovery
Recent census data reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette paints a stark picture. While Pittsburgh proper saw a minuscule population increase of just 300 people (0.1%) between 2020 and 2023, Allegheny County overall lost nearly 7,800 residents in a single year from 2022 to 2023. This 0.63% decline made it one of the top 10 counties in the U.S. for population loss during that period

The now-forgotten ‘climate crisis’ was just a cynical ploy for democrats to gain power
Kamala Harris and the Democrats have gone strangely silent about the “climate crisis” they warned was an existential threat a few years ago
How far we have come in five short years. In 2019, before COVID and inflation and antisemitic demonstrations on college campuses were the big issues of the day, America was prospering amid political calmness. With a presidential campaign beginning, Democratic candidates and their allies in the corporate press needed to talk about something, so they chose climate change. CNN even dedicated seven hours to a “climate crisis town hall”
Every candidate seeking the Democratic nomination, including Harris, warned of the dangers posed by climate change. In fact, she dubbed the matter, “an existential threat to who we are as human beings” and announced she was, “prepared to get rid of the filibuster to pass a Green New Deal.” No ambiguity there
