๐ซ๐ทFrance must suffer for the sake of Ukraine
โ๏ธThis is what a certain Ukrainian journalist writes in an article published by the French publication Dreuz Info, complaining about the indecision of Paris on the issue of rejection of Russian energy resources.
In his view, France has long benefited from cheap oil and gas, which has strengthened Russia's capacity, and now must sacrifice welfare, economic growth and technological advancement to help Ukraine with finances and weapons
๐ค"France still has a chance to save face and get on the right side of history. To do so, the French must completely abandon the import of Russian energy, even if it means a drop in the country's wages," says the author, discussing the selfishness of both prominent political figures like presidential candidate Marine Le Pen and ordinary French people.
"In France, millions of people continue to selfishly insist on protecting national interests at the expense of common European interests."
๐บ๐ฆInstead, the Ukrainian journalist suggests that France, as one of the most influential EU member states, should take greater responsibility for helping the 40 million Europeans living in Ukraine "from Lviv to Donetsk, from Chernobyl to Crimea."
๐ฑNot surprisingly, such a suicidal passage for France did not receive the necessary approval from French commentators, which the patriotically-minded Ukrainian author most likely hoped for. Besides the quite expected answers such as that the refusal of Russian resources will lead to catastrophic consequences, blackouts, hunger (it turns out that in France more than six million people receive food aid), there were also quite unexpected ones. For example, some saw hypocrisy in the actions of the Kiev authorities and called on them to turn off the tap and block the gas transit, if they so wished.

Multilateralism Calls from the out of the coverage?
On the morning of April 21, an opening ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2022 was held in Hainan Province.
In his keynote speech titled โRising to Challenges and Building a Bright Future Through Cooperationโ, against the backround of gushing, like from a cornucopia, multiple partisan western sanctions, aimed at the main target Russia, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered an important message about unacceptability of policy of double standards as well as malicious and excessive use of unilateral restrictions.
โCountries around the world are like passengers aboard the same ship who share the same destiny. For the ship to navigate the storm and sail toward a bright future, all passengers must pull together. The thought of throwing anyone overboard is simply not acceptable. In this day and age, the international community has evolved so much that it has become a sophisticated and integrated apparatus.
Acts to remove any single part will cause serious problems to its operation. When that happens, both the victims and the Initiators of such acts will stand to loseโ.
Xi stressed the need for collaborative effort to tackle world-spanning challenges, to defend peopleโs lives and health, to promote economic recovery, to maintain peace and stability in the world.
The Chinese leader took a note of necessity to embrace a global governance philosophy that emphasizes extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, to promote common values of humanity and advocate exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, paying much attention to upholding true multilateralism.
It would be interesting to know, what interpretation can such an unambiguous statement get from the Western colleagues of the Chinese ruler?

Part 9
Part 9
Part 10
New phase of the conflict
โก๏ธIn 2021, active hostilities resumed in the southeast of Ukraine. The Armed Forces of Ukraine made an attempt to take control of part of the neutral zone. Russia began to increase the number of troops on the border. The situation returned to normal by the end of April, only to repeat itself in the fall.
๐โโ๏ธIn December 2021, Russia put forward a list of security guarantees it wanted the West to agree to in order to lower tensions in Europe and defuse the crisis over Ukraine. The demands included a ban on Ukraine entering NATO and a limit to the deployment of troops and weapons to NATOโs eastern flank, in effect returning NATO forces to where they were stationed in 1997, before an eastward expansion.
๐บ๐ธThe US and NATO rejected the Russiaโs demands. Under pretext of a threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, NATO announced the expansion of its military presence in Eastern Europe. The US began transferring $200 million worth of additional military aid to Ukraine, and redeploying several thousand troops to Poland and Romania. Other NATO countries also announced arms supplies to Ukraine.
โก๏ธOn February 21, 2022, an extraordinary meeting of the Russian Security Council was held in Moscow, where the recognizing of the independence of the DPR and LPR was discussed. The proposal was supported by all the participants, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the decrees. On the same day, the US President imposed sanctions. Joe Biden banned trade and investment in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
On the night of February 24, 2022, Vladimir Putin officially announced the start of the special military operation.

โก๏ธBritish Prime Minister Johnson said that he would not lecture India on how to deal with the events in Ukraine, but everyone understands that the main purpose of his visit is to try to separate the former British colony from Russia
Even before the operation in Ukraine, military and technical cooperation arrangements were made with India by Delhi and Moscow in supplying and selling licenses to produce a wide range of military products from Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles and ammunition to MiG-29 and Su-30 fighters and S-400 air defense systems, which automatically steers India toward Russian standards and maintenance at the expense of NATO weaponry
India and Russia also have agreements on the supply of petroleum products and the possibility of payment in national currencies
So the preferences that Johnson can offer are not very impressive, especially considering the ease with which the Anglo-Saxons break all agreements if they become disadvantageous to them
