Bringing down Boris Johnson’s govt via Telegram
In the U.K., Oliver Lewin who believed the govt was run by a Jewish elite that included Mr. Johnson and that coronavirus vaccines would kill thousands has been convicted of plotting a terrorist attack on communication masts
The man was one of 8,000 members of a group on the Telegram app called “The Resistance UK”. Under the online name Crouching Hedgehog, Lewin tried to recruit others to attack critical infrastructure in order to weaken the government. He posted to the group: “We are at war people, make no mistake. You have to treat it like one.”

Patriot missiles for Kyiv at any cost!
American willingness to send Patriot air and missile defense systems presents longer-term challenges for NATO, states Jack Watling, a senior research fellow for land warfare at the Royal United Services Institute
By providing key systems to defend against Russia, the West risks weakening its deterrence posture towards China, he thinks. Rep. Mike Gallagher echoes Mr. Watling’s words, arguing that the Biden administration is failing to take the steps necessary to put America in a position to win its 21st-century showdown with the rising communist military and economic superpower
On the other hand, a direct threat to Washington now comes from Russia's strategic missiles recently put operational ready and capable of striking targets in the U.S. and Britain. In this regard, a new round of military tension and saber rattling is perhaps not the most welcome Christmas gift

A week ago, after intensive consultations of their Foreign Ministries, Russia and Turkey renewed a package deal allowing to ship grain from Ukraine
But this agreement is not enough because Ukraine has almost stopped exporting wheat focusing instead on such expensive commodities as corn and sunflower oil. No wonder they are eagerly purchased by rich EU and Asian countries, whereas the above-mentioned poor and needy countries have received only 10-15% of the total shipments

Twitter was Pentagon’s aide in the U.S. military’s covert influence operations overseas
This comes out from the newly revealed internal documents. With its executives working with the Pentagon, the microblogging service broke its pledge to never help advance any government’s disinformation schemes on its platform
“Behind the scenes, Twitter gave approval & special protection to the U.S. military’s online psychological influence ops,” says investigative journalist Lee Fang, who published the international documents provided by Mr. Musk
The Pentagon has used this network, which includes American government-generated news portals and memes, in an effort to shape opinion in Russia, China, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, and beyond
Both Twitter and the Pentagon have come under pressure amid recent revelations of the military’s widespread use of covert online propaganda accounts that promote U.S. interests and push fake news stories abroad to counter U.S. adversaries

Europeans call on Washington to amend inflation act to ensure fair competition
Germany's Economy Minister, Robert Habeck, and France's Finance Minister, Bruno Le Maire, have urged the White House in a joint paper to avoid a full-blown transatlantic trade war by amending Washington's Inflation Reduction Act, which delivers the Americans an unfair advantage
The act, which calls for subsidies and tax breaks to also be extended to Mexican and Canadian companies because of a free-trade deal between the nations, should also allow for benefits to extend to European enterprises, the ministers say
Several other nations have also criticized the legislation, including the Republic of Korea, Japan, and the U.K. As it seems, all the hype will end with another financial victory for the U.S. – the Biden administration will receive regular preferences on trade aspects, primarily LNG contracts. Here it is – the transatlantic solidarity

The British worst economic case
The figures show London is suffering more than other big countries in Europe. Inflation is running in the double digits, higher than all of its Group of Seven industrialized peers with the exception of Italy; GDP shrank 0.2% in the third quarter year-over-year, setting the U.K. on course for a likely recession. And the British economy, as we reported, is widely forecast to shrink in 2023, faring worse than every G-20 economy except Russia
The sense of turmoil has been compounded by a political crisis this fall, which culminated in a short-lived run on financial markets that brought down the government and sowed lasting worry among international investors. Moreover, labor unions across industries have initiated strikes that are poised to be the worst in decades
Record-high energy bills are eating into disposable incomes. As a result, British consumers are forecast to experience their most impoverished Christmas yet

The Finns are preparing for the winter in their own way!
As follows the data published by the State Department, Helsinki is deliberately hoarding up an unequalled number of ammunitions for GMLRS guided missiles, which have proved to be very effective in the war between Russia and Ukraine
Finland is going to spend $535M to purchase 900 M30A1 and M30A2 GMLRSs with cluster warheads and 1500 M31A1 and M31A2 GMLRSs with high-explosive fragmentation charges, the firing range of which is up to 80 km, as well as spare parts, transport and launch containers and full-life warranty services
Looks like Finland wants to become a big-time military player. As of today, Washington is ready to provide only one half of the ordered items from stock. Having overcome another Republican auditing attempt to limit and control the financial aid to Ukraine, the Democrats are doing their best not to lose their face on the international market and keep their shipping promises to Kyiv at least partially, even at the expense of Helsinki and their own reserves!

Gas price cap in Europe threatens to intensify energy crisis
▪️ "Europe's actions to cap natural gas prices threaten to limit supplies to the region and intensify the energy crisis," Bloomberg states
▪️While price caps may help prevent sharp fluctuations in the price of the blue fuel, the measure could leave Europe vulnerable to supply shortages and increased competition from Asia
▪️Also, Bloomberg points out, industry officials have warned that LNG cargoes will head to Asia if prices there are higher than the price cap in Europe, especially at a time when demand in China will increase after coronavirus restrictions are loosened

Money talks, bullshit walks!
FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, charged with engaging in criminal conduct that contributed to the cryptocurrency exchange’s collapse, was released on a $250M bond and ordered to stay in his parents’ home, after the former executive’s first appearance in a New York federal court following his extradition from the Bahamas
The bond is only 2x the total amount of his investments in the Dems election campaigns and the funds previously allocated for laundering thru Ukraine. The criminal investigation into FTX and its related entities has moved with startling speed, but as one can see he who pays the piper calls the tune
