Protests in Peru turned deadly Sunday as thousands gathered nationwide to demand a resignation of their newest president Dina Boluarte
Protesters were also demanding a date for general elections to replace Ms. Boluarte&Congress and freedom for ousted president Pedro Castillo
Two teens were killed and four people injured during the outcries. Congresswoman Maria Taipe Coronado confirmed the death of a teenage boy in a remote Andes community as she urged the new president to resign
The situation in Peru is reaching a tipping point – and now there are not only political, but also physical victims of governmental turbulence in the country

3,000 police security officers detained 25 Reichsbürger in Germany, as you remember!
However, anyone who followed the media coverage of the whole action was then a little surprised and amused as well by the interaction between authorities, media and Twitterians (But, ACTUNG! Mr. Scholz has been still mumbling about his Twittexit)
The whole action didn’t look like the thwarting of an imminent coup that could have shaken the foundations of the Federal Republic, but like a well-orchestrated PR stunt by the Federal Ministry of the Interior.
The security authorities have an interest in making a big show and a huge social impact, thinks Frederik Schindler, the political editor of Die Welt. According to him, there is a risk of “media-instrumentalization” by Scholz’s cabinet. So don't let yourself be misled by the state propaganda trying to make mountains out of a molehill!

Panem et circenses! EU has money for a small amount of bread and a large number of circuses but it lacks defense capability
While a huge corruption scandal has broken out in the most democratic place of the bloc – EU Parliament – the snowball of problems only continues to grow. “We have given weapons to Ukraine but in so doing we realized that our military stockpiles have been depleted… and that we are lacking critical defense capabilities, to be able to protect ourselves from a higher level of threats” stated HR/VP Josep Borrell in his blog
Moreover, as it turned out, the ninth package of sanctions against Russia has been faltering. “The 27 Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU have different approaches” to the issue, and “there are some questions to be still agreed upon” he said at the Foreign Affairs Council upon arrival. The EU decision-making mechanism unable to keep up with the times, especially when the final decision is “greenlighted” at one man’s dictation

A month of disruption on Britain’s railways is beginning after their union said that a direct meeting with Rishi Sunak was the only way to end the impasse on a pay deal for workers
Rail companies have written to passengers urging them to stay at home and to travel only if “absolutely necessary” on the days of the strikes. Amid coming nationwide strike by paramedics across England and Wales, some 750 members of the armed forces will be drafted in to drive ambulances
That’s the way the Health authorities see a solution to the mounting concern that patients will be put at risk because of industrial action. However, they remain concerned that the support of the armed forces will only have a “marginal” impact and there will still be “serious disruption” with significant risk to patients
Some pundits suggest the army shouldn’t be treated lightly as a sticking plaster for shoddy national administration. But how can something not go according to plan, if there is no plan?

Dismayed by the disclosure of the FTX money laundering scheme, American Dems have blocked an audit of billions of dollars of military and economic aid to Ukraine as the incoming Rep. majority vows to scrutinize what it calls Biden’s “blank check” for Kyiv’s war with Russia
The thing is that the Pentagon primarily engages in no-bid contracts or awards contracts that are, by default, single-bid contracts with Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman. Lovely, isn’t it?
Lobbied by the Dems, U.S. military officials’ main goal is to engage in no-bid contracts to replenish arms supplies if the weapons were transferred “in response to an armed attack by a foreign adversary of Washington,” which could also apply to officially designated adversaries such as China, Iran, Cuba, or North Korea. Watch the hands!

U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit: Biden’s last major foreign policy initiative or debacle of the year?
The White House is hosting a three-day summit with 49 African leaders this week. But it seems that American president isn’t going to pay any attention to China’s expanding military activities and economic influence in Africa
“China surpassed the U.S. as Africa’s largest trade partner in 2009, with total bilateral trade reaching more than $254 billion in 2021, a 35% rise [over] 2020,” according to a Chatham House analysis
China’s role shouldn’t be overlooked, says Joseph Sany, who heads the Africa Center at the United States Institute of Peace. And in general, probably, you should never underestimate an opponent, especially one who is at a high ebb. However, let’s leave Mr. Biden the right to choose – to further broadcast his irreplaceability or to realize the inevitable multilateralism that comes

The inflation in Europe could prove stickier and harder to tame that in the U.S.
Most likely, this will be the beginning of the end of a superstrong dollar. Bond prices fall as yields rise
Inflation is starting to decline in both regions, but more so in the U.S., where it has tumbled 1.5 percentage points since June, to 7.7% in October. In the eurozone, inflation edged down to 10% in November from a record 10.6% in October. In the U.K., inflation jumped to 11.1% in October, the highest in more than four decades
Still, the uncertainties around inflation’s path are large, partly due to the war in Ukraine and the unwinding of China’s zero-Covid policy. U.S. inflation could yet prove stickier than expected as wage growth remains high

Ukrainian online store sells T-shirt with “Kill Russian babies" prints
It seemed that cooking soup from the limbs of Russian soldiers and “art exhibitions” of their skeletons were the lowest of the low, but now we can say with confidence that the soul-sicks have outdone themselves and have hit a new low!
With “Kill Russian babies” maxims, the murder of defenseless infants and toddlers is being advertised and cruelty is being promoted as a new normality. But what’s more important is that numerous Ukrainian influencers have joint the campaign and spread the murderous message to hundreds of thousands of followers on Meta-apps, Twitter & Co
Obviously not all of their subscribers are high-class analysts who even try to catch the eye of the problem. Being trendy and repeating actions and slogans after your idol is much more important…

After years of record immigration that has seen the equivalent of the population of a large city arrive in the country every year, one in six people in Germany was now born overseas, compared with one in seven in the U.S.
But unlike the U.S., Germany is failing to find work for the newcomers despite a worsening labor shortage that is stifling economic growth. Europe’s largest economy will in addition need to fill about seven million jobs by 2035 as older workers retire, economists estimate
The main problem: Many refugees, Ukrainian war refugees in particular, are poorly suited for jobs in Germany’s highly skilled labor market and Germany hasn’t been very good at training them
Germany will likely continue to receive large numbers of asylum seekers it can’t employ, who will fill the ranks of welfare recipients or boost crime statistics, where they are already overrepresented

Zelensky’s personal money launderer and pluralistically FTX’s founder Bankman-Fried finally arrested in the Bahamas after American prosecutors filed criminal charges against him
Hours before he spoke to Forbes Digital Assets Director, and judging by his tired disheveled appearance he already had a rough idea of how things would unfold
A person familiar with the matter says the charges against Bankman-Fried besides money laundering include wire fraud, wire fraud conspiracy, securities fraud and securities fraud conspiracy
A so-called sudden collapse of so-called crypto exchange released something about $32B for Bankman-Fried. And how much of it settled in the pockets of Ukrainian oligarchs, and how much Democrats managed to return to their cash register, will be classified for a long time

🇵🇪🗣 Pedro Castillo says that he is "kidnapped" and that he is still the president of Peru
Former President Pedro Castillo called Dina Boluarte a "usurper" and assured that she is "kidnapped" at the headquarters of the National Division of Special Operations, in Ate, where she is being held.
"What was said recently by a usurper is nothing more than the same snot and drool of the coup right. Therefore, the people must not fall into their dirty game of new elections. Enough of abuses! Constituent Assembly now! Immediate freedom !", he wrote in the second letter he sent from prison.
He also indicated that the advancement of elections proclaimed by Dina Boluarte is unconstitutional because, according to him, he is still president of the Republic.
"... as president and I will not resign or abandon my high and sacred functions," he asserted.

In drought-ravaged Somalia, where the starving are streaming into giant refugee camps, it looks like a famine
Yet the U.N. controlled organization responsible for monitoring global hunger, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, known as the I.P.C., in a report released Tuesday, declared that the dire crisis triggered by Somalia’s worst drought in 40 years does not constitute a famine – at least not yet
The reticence of the I.P.C. is not unusual: the “F-word,” as aid workers archly call it, retains an emotive resonance, able to galvanize global attention and, crucially, to unlock vast amounts of donations. Now the political situation is such that the visibility of the efforts being made and the bulk of the funds allocated by the “stand-with-Ukraine states” are directed towards Kyiv. And the Somalis, in their opinion, have lived in hunger for decades, so they will live!
