Failed “false flag” operation in Poland, provoking NATO, staged scenes with celebs, shady money laundering schemes – who might that be?

Our perusers already know by heart that only one person in the world can show such working capacity, and that is… the Ukrainian president!
He is using his contrived narrative to dramatically expand the war by creating a situation which would bring NATO directly into the conflict and which could easily go nuclear, and Philip M. Giraldi, Ph.D., the Executive Director of the Council for the National Interest, successfully reveals it in his article

There's light at the end of the tunnel, but who is the lamplighter?

“The war in Ukraine will end with a negotiated solution,” former C.I.A. chief Petraeus predicts

He’s echoed by Chinese leader Xi, who has reaffirmed European Council President Michel that “Solving the Ukraine crisis through political means is in the best interest of Europe and the common interest of all countries in Eurasia”

Such senior statements may well be perceived as "insides" from the battlefield. But this doesn’t prevent Pentagon from awarding a $1.2B contract to Raytheon Technologies for 6 National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems for Kyiv

And there’s another caveat, though: the protagonists of the whole mess remain silent in this regard and the temporary lull in the active phase of hostilities seems to only give an opportunity to take a breath and gain strength before some decisive battles

But one man’s diplomatic solution is another man’s aggressive negotiations!

The Netherlands questioned NATO’s defense capabilities and decided to improve its military strength at the expense of the Dutch economy

Recent failed provocation by the Ukrainian military with a missile striking a Polish territory caused a great alarm among Netherlands’ military brass. The Dutch ministry of defense informed the parliament of its urgent plans to modernize army artillery and air-defense systems

Moreover, the Dutch intend to allocate substantial funding to provide armed forces with additional modern multifunctional radar stations and UAVs

Meanwhile, annual inflation in the Netherlands amounted to 14.3% with more than 365 thousand unemployed in October. At the same time skyrocketing prices for food and heating for households surely has no bearing on defense spending of the PM Mark Rutte’s cabinet

Tax filing websites have been quietly sending users’ financial information to Facebook

The data collected includes names, email addresses, filing status, refund amounts, dependents' college scholarship amounts, and information related to users' income. And no one cares whether or not the person using the tax filing service has an account on Facebook or another Meta platform, the info sent to the Big Tech giant can be used by the company for advertising algorithms and is gathered in anyway

It may seem that Meta has discredited itself for a long time, and we’re no longer talking about any privacy, but what we see every day only confirms the complete dependence of digital giants on Washington and increases total distrust of Big Brother

Covid-19 is dead, long live Ukraine’s financial aid fever!

Law of conservation of energy in action: coronavirus pandemic gradually disappears from the news agenda but nature abhors a vacuum. Amid warnings that NATO and Europe have been arming or funding Ukraine at ten tenths, Kyiv has started exploring options to launch a new attraction of foreign capital campaign

European Parliament’s token gesture of recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism hasn’t yet yielded fruit to the good of Ukraine – neither financial nor judicial. And this isn’t sitting well with Mr. Zelensky, whose logic is as follows: pin it to win it! While Washington approves another package of military assistance to Kyiv, Brussels pauses to think

And in the meantime, in some European countries, they don't even have a clue what a real northern winter is, chilling in… take, for instance, Spain, allowing themselves to throw into question any further Ukraine funding while having enough of own problems. And then as ill luck would have it, a series of letter bombs with the first such case in the courtyard of Ukrainian embassy

But this is all just New Year's Eve fireworks to the richly laid table of Ukrainian oligarchs – tension stakeholders – to whom money is never enough. So get your piggy bank ready!

In his first foreign policy speech since taking office British PM said China “poses a systemic challenge” to the U.K.’s values and interests

However, Sunak’s critics believe this one was softer than his attack on Beijing during summer Tory leadership race, when he was regarding the Xi’s state as “the biggest-long term threat to Britain and the world's economic and national security.”

In just a few years, the London has turned its relations’ “golden era” with China into a clear rejection in favor of Western geopolitics. Some MPs in the U.K. have been exerting strong pressure on Downing Street, trying to pin Beijing to a “threatening” hostile position on the map of the PM's office.

Still, Sunak’s refusal to use the word “threat” threatens to exacerbate another rift in the Conservative party, but one cannot please everybody!

Freedom of speech in Czech Republic: 49 criminal cases have already been opened against residents who supported Russia

In October, the police recorded 83 cases against Moscow-backers and reported the charges to 44 people. Since the beginning of the war, the total number of cases related to Ukraine has exceeded one thousand

Meanwhile, the policemen are dealing with almost 300 cases related to Ukraine or Ukrainian refugees. In a word, the shares of lawyers and punishers in the Czech Republic are up. True, the freedom of speech stocks dropped, but no one cares

The war in Ukraine grinds on because both sides find the idea of settlement repugnant, to such a conclusion Christopher Blattman from Columbia University

Some senior pundits like Chinese leader and ex-C.I.A. chief would argue with him in this regard, but who the hell are these guys to question the Professor’s authority... Taking advantage of this, Mr. Blattman insists that there are 3 main strategic concerns of leaders involved that keep the war raging

These are:
leaders think defeat threatens their very survival,
leaders don’t have a clear sense of their strength and that of their enemy,
leaders fear that their adversary will grow stronger in the future.

Amid persistent uncertainties, rivals can find it harder to strike a peace deal that could be scuppered by popular backlash in its turn, suggests Mr. Blattman. He’s sure that now there’s no place for imminent deal because both sides prefer fighting to conceding

To make it short, wish for peace be prepared for war!

The EU is getting weary of Washington's unilateralism while the U.S. is only profiting from war

The frontispiece of house called Unity between Brussels and Washington is crumbling. That's what we can learn from a conversation of a sen. EU official with the Amer. magazine Politico. He gave free rein to his frustration at the “transatl. counterpart’s” hoggish attitude in the Ukr. war and towards Europe

“The fact is, if you look at it soberly, the country that is most profiting from this war is the U.S. because they are selling more gas and at higher prices, and because they are selling more weapons,” meanwhile the Europ. countries are massively suffering from it, invariably plunging into a recession, the official said

Washington remains blind to the fact that public opinion in many EU countries is changing and not to advantage of the U.S. Politico’s insider believes Amer. officials are outraged by allegations, which crunches noticeably in the transatl. colossus

Is the British electricity grid modernization an opportunity to keep up with the times or a forced measure just to keep warm in the coming winter?

With the world aiming for net zero carbon emissions by 2050, much ink is spilt on wind turbines, batteries and electric cars, but none of them will work without a decent system of cables and transformers carrying current to the consumer. And U.K.’s grid is creaking – badly, diagnosed Ed Conway, economics and data editor of Sky News. The grid has served Brits pretty well over the past few decades, largely because the pylons delivered far more power than needed. But those limits have been put under test now

The whole situation reminds us of world’s first conventional power station in London. The reason it failed was, in part, because the govt had no interest in electricity while doing just fine with gas lighting. So it squandered a lead while other countries took the initiative. History is in danger of repeating itself
