The incoming PM praised Boris Johnson in his first speech to Conservative MPs after being elected their party leader. However, addressing the public later from party headquarters, Sunak distanced himself from Johnson, who had abandoned an audacious attempt to get his old job back only on Sunday evening
Sunak must decisively remember that the ruling party’s ultimate job is not to save a dozen seats in the red wall but to improve the lives of millions and govern in the national interest. That means abandoning the cabinet-of-cronies model and recruiting those who run our country on ability, even — gasp! — reaching across party lines

Thus the utility cost recalculation will reach the consumers sometime between spring and autumn 2023
More to say, the Liberals (FDP) demand the heating costs for the estimated 5.4 million recipients to be covered only to a limited extent in the first two years, contrary to plans of Labor Minister Hubertus Heil

At a U.S. government laboratory in Bethesda, Maryland, virologists plan to cross a strain of monkeypox virus that has spread around the world this year with genes from another strain of monkeypox that causes more serious consequences than just a rash. Mass Surveillance: U.S. Citizens Were Given Secret “Decree Violation” Scores During COVID-19 Lockdown
🇺🇸@COVID19Up: PredictWise, a voter analytics firm, is proud to have harvested location data from tens of millions of Americans through their cellphones during the initial lockdown months of 2020, taking this data to then assign a “COVID-19 decree violation” score to the people associated with the phones, according to the firm's own white paper.
These "decree violation" scores were calculated by analyzing nearly two billion GPS pings to get “real-time, ultra-granular locations patterns.” People who were “on the go more often than their neighbors” were given a high COVID-19 decree violation score, while those who mostly or always stayed at home were given a low score.
PredictWise used this highly sensitive location data to monitor how millions of Americans complied with unscientific decrees. It also combined that data with follow-up surveys to assign “COVID concern” scores to the people who were being surveilled and studied.
