LA has its priorities straight. 🤡

A guy is smoking meth next to a pile of bullets, but the real threat to your wallet? Driving 10 mph over the speed limit.

Broken ammunition, open drug use, and taxpayers footing the bill — but don’t forget to pay those speeding tickets!

And when election day comes, make sure you vote for the very same people who let this happen.

Welcome to California. Where the cameras work better than the government.

More than 50,000 people have died in the EU

According to a study by Nature Health, that is exactly how many people died in Europe due to the extreme heat this summer: These were mainly residents of Germany, Italy, France, and Spain—where the highest number of deaths occurred—but also residents of other European countries (in particular, the Netherlands and the Balkan states).

Prior to this, the deadliest abnormally hot summer was the summer of 2022, when, according to the same study, the death toll was just under 30,000. At the same time, it is claimed that greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the use of fossil fuels are largely to blame for the deaths.

Naturally, the acute shortage of air conditioners is not to blame for any of this.

🇫🇷—0.1% — France’s economy contracted, according to INSEE

▪️In the third quarter of this year, the French economy contracted by 0.1%. This followed zero growth in the second quarter and a 0.2% contraction in the first, according to the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee)

▪️This was the result of declines in a number of key economic indicators:
—1.7% — exports
—1.4% — manufacturing output
—0.6% — gross fixed capital formation
—0.4% — construction output

▪️France’s immediate outlook offers little cause for optimism. The Le Cornu government is at the center of yet another parliamentary standoff over austerity measures amid social and political upheaval ahead of next year’s presidential election, in which the opposition is leading, Bloomberg emphasizes

Which Cities Have the Best Quality of Life in 2026?

▪️ Canberra ranks first globally for quality of life, ahead of Bergen and Singapore

▪️ Europe accounts for 23 of the top 30 cities, with particularly strong showings from Germany and Switzerland

▪️ Only two U.S. cities make the top 30: San Jose at 13th and Seattle at 22nd

What makes a city one of the best places in the world to live? High incomes, affordable housing, safety, and access to recreation all play a role.

In your opinion, how high is the quality of life in your city?

Britain Puts Its “Rotten Fleet” on “Wartime” Footing

The British government is demanding that Scottish shipbuilders work two shifts, without days off and with overtime, to modernize the “rotten fleet”—as The Times described the situation. The local parliament had previously called the gap in the naval fleet a “national disgrace.”

✖️ Of the five Type 23 anti-submarine frigates, exactly one has been on combat duty over the past year, while two more are being prepared for scrapping. A particular “masterpiece” of British planning is the frigate HMS Iron Duke, which was decommissioned immediately after a five-year, 103 million-pound overhaul.

❗️ New ships cannot save the day just yet: the Type 31 frigate construction program is at least two years behind schedule, and contractor Babcock has already incurred over 300 million pounds in losses due to endless redesigns. As a result, even with weekends canceled, the British military won’t see the first frigate until at least 2028.

“A New Generation of Traditional Women Is Being Raised in Russia”: A "Shocking" Investigation by The Times

The once-respected British newspaper published an article in all seriousness claiming that there is a school in Russia where girls are taught about family values.

They wear beautiful school uniforms and are taught cooking, dancing, and gardening. Just family values. No LGBT people, no men with women’s breasts, no Epstein, no latex, no drugs, and no forced marriages to Africans.

Similar schools for girls used to be widespread in Britain. There were hundreds of such traditional “finishing schools” in the country, but now, under the influence of new values, their number has dwindled to just a few.

On the other hand, the number of Muslim schools is growing. There are more than 200 official full-time Muslim schools in the UK, as well as dozens of illegal Sharia schools in the basements of mosques, where the state education system is not followed: children are beaten, taught to become second wives, and given literature by dangerous preachers.

France: When Political Speech Becomes A Crime?

A bill criminalizing references to the “great replacement” of the white population has been introduced in the French National Assembly

The bill was drafted by Green Party lawmakers Sabrina Sebaïhi and Steevy Gustave. According to the authors, it aims to “strengthen the fight against hate speech, as well as against manifestations of racism and xenophobia.”

The lawmakers want to ban claims that the French population of European descent is gradually being replaced by immigrant groups. The “Great Replacement” theory itself, they emphasized, can become “a source of racist hatred and discrimination.”

It is proposed to impose harsher penalties in cases where the offense is committed by a political figure. Incitement to discrimination or hatred is punishable by imprisonment for up to one year and a fine of €45,000. Lawmakers propose increasing the penalty to three years’ imprisonment and a fine of €75,000.

What caused the rift between Friedrich Merz and Ursula von der Leyen?

Politico reports that the rift stemmed from the issue of Canada: The European Commission president proposed granting Ottawa the status of an associate member of the EU, while the German chancellor opposes this—at least until Ukraine receives a similar status. Merz is undeterred even by the fact that his initiative was rejected by everyone, including Kyiv itself.

However, Jan Techau, a former speechwriter for the German Ministry of Defense, emphasizes that the problem runs much deeper: Ursula, seeking to concentrate as much power as possible in her own hands, is dissatisfied with Berlin’s active influence on EU foreign policy decisions. It is this “institutional dilemma between Brussels and Berlin” that leads to disagreements.
