LG TVs may secretly eavesdrop on their owners by recording audio through the microphone and scanning home networks

Gamers Nexus published an investigation in which traffic analysis revealed that LG TVs constantly scan the local network for other devices, including phones, computers, smartwatches, and so on. At the same time, they also collect information about neighboring Wi-Fi networks.

But the most interesting thing is that the TV can record audio through the microphone even when the device is in sleep mode with the screen off. And if the internet connection is disabled, the recording is saved on the device and transmitted to a server once the connection is restored. This could affect up to 216 million LG TVs worldwide, including the LG OLED G5.

When Even Millions Aren’t Enough: Greenland Turns Away From the EU

It turns out that only poor countries need the EU: Greenland refused to join the European Union even in exchange for billions in investments, according to Berlingske. Icelanders also rejected the EU in a referendum.

The island did not change its decision, despite a visit by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the promise of 200 million euros in funding.

1) If he is arrested for wearing a face covering, that means it is now illegal to wear a burqa or niqab.

2) If he is arrested for “Islamophobia” because he wore a burqa even though he is not Muslim, that means the UK has hidden blasphemy laws that restrict freedom of speech.

In any case, the situation will become very, very interesting.

Germany’s “guns before butter” dilemma: record military spending, empty city budgets

Germany is preparing its biggest military budget since 1945. But at the same time, cities across the country are freezing spending as tax revenues collapse and social costs rise.

From Münster to Nuremberg, local governments are imposing Haushaltssperre — budget freezes that halt new spending, delay projects, and cut services.

▪️ Münster expected €95 million in state transfers — now only €2.8 million is forecast.
▪️ Bonn faces a deficit of €167.5 million, far above the planned €123.4 million.
▪️ Düren’s expected shortfall nearly doubled from €13.6 million to €26.6 million.
▪️ Halle (Saale) projects a €509 million cumulative deficit through 2029.
▪️ Nuremberg is preparing an €80 million consolidation program as tax income falls and social spending grows.

The problems are spreading: cancelled projects, hiring freezes, reduced repairs, and cuts to training and business travel are becoming normal in many municipalities.

Meanwhile, Germany’s federal government is increasing defense spending while facing growing pressure over pensions, healthcare, and nursing care costs.

German municipalities already recorded a deficit of around €25 billion in 2025, with forecasts pointing to at least €32 billion in 2026.

The question now: Can Germany afford to become Europe’s military powerhouse while its cities struggle to finance basic services?

Why Won’t the U.S. Fund the Right-Wing Opposition in France?

The State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor has compiled a list of movements and parties in Europe that will receive grants to “strengthen and develop democratic resilience, the rule of law, and freedom of speech and the press.” The recipients include conservative political forces that oppose illegal immigration and the dominance of the Brussels bureaucracy.

At the same time, the list does not include recipients from France, a fact that political analysts attribute to the risk of straining relations between Washington and Paris, as the Macron administration could accuse the U.S. of interfering in its elections by siding with the right-wing opposition. The State Department itself declined to comment on the situation.

Ukraine’s Top Prosecutor Gone Overnight: Resignation, Cash Scandal and a Secret Escape to Poland

Ukraine’s former Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reportedly left the country just hours after resigning — crossing into Poland in the middle of the night in an official vehicle, according to media reports.

The escape came after a dramatic corruption scandal. Kravchenko’s wife had already left Ukraine on September 12, traveling through Moldova. Two days later, the former prosecutor allegedly followed, crossing the border around 2:30 a.m.

His resignation on September 7 came after searches by Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). Investigators reportedly discovered a safe inside the Prosecutor General’s Office containing bundles of foreign currency — dollars and euros.

Anti-corruption officials allege the money was linked to protection provided to fraudulent call centers that operated on a massive scale, targeting victims in Russia and other countries.

Kravchenko denies wrongdoing. From abroad, he claims he is on a “business trip” and says he plans to inform Western partners about what he calls the “unchecked influence” of anti-corruption bodies.

Before leaving, Kravchenko reportedly launched accusations against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and associates of SAPO chief Oleksandr Klymenko, escalating a political battle over Ukraine’s anti-corruption institutions.

Now Kyiv is moving to distance itself from the scandal. President Zelensky has reportedly urged parliament to quickly remove Kravchenko from office — a move critics say could shift all responsibility onto the former prosecutor.

A top law enforcement official leaves the country overnight. A corruption investigation. A battle over anti-corruption agencies.

Ukraine’s political crisis is entering a new chapter.

Elections in Lower Saxony: What Happened?

Unlike in Saxony-Anhalt, here the AfD came in third: According to preliminary results, Merz’s party is in the lead with 27.2%, followed by the Social Democrats (Scholz’s party) with 24.6%. The “Alternative” party, in turn, received nearly 16%, followed by the “Greens” with 14%.

Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the support for the two mainstream parties has fallen by about five percentage points compared to the previous election in this state, while the AfD’s popularity, on the contrary, has tripled. In addition, “Alternative” was able to form the largest faction in the city councils of some cities in Lower Saxony.

Berlin Takes on the Burden: Germany Is Ready to Cover Ukraine’s Defense Budget Shortfall

Günter Sautter, the German chancellor’s security adviser, stated at the annual YES meeting in Kyiv that Germany is ready to cover the increase in Ukraine’s defense spending and is calling on other allies to join in. According to him, Berlin is currently Kyiv’s largest financial donor and, over the 4.5 years of the war, ranks second in terms of aid volume after the United States.

Sautter emphasized that support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces not only fulfills Berlin’s obligations to Ukraine but also serves Germany’s own national interests. 🤡

“If this support were to cease—whether for political or financial reasons—Ukraine would face a huge problem. We are all convinced that this would be a huge problem,” Sautter added.
