Bloggers will be invited to cover EU summits, but there’s a catch
The program kicks off in July: Brussels bureaucrats want to boost their popularity among a non-political audience on social media, so they’ll invite a certain number of YouTubers and TikTokers to sign PR agreements. At the same time, opinion leaders are carefully selected, and not everyone will be allowed to cover the events.
The main selection criterion is one’s attitude toward the EU and its leaders: if it is negative, a blogger has no chance of being accepted into this program. Furthermore, candidates must not have political ambitions, so as not to compete with Ursula von der Leyen and other figures like Merz and Macron.

“Migration has nearly tripled”: Every year, more than 35 million people move from their hometown or country.
The annual number of people moving from one country to another has increased from approximately 13 million in 2000 to about 35 million in 2023. This means that over the course of two decades, the scale of global migration has nearly tripled.
The growth in migration is significantly outpacing the rate of global population growth. Key factors cited include economic disparities between countries, the development of transportation infrastructure, armed conflicts, political instability, and the effects of climate change.
According to data from international organizations, in 2024 the number of people living outside their country of birth reached a record 304 million. This is nearly double the figure from 1990.

A zombie apocalypse has struck Philadelphia in the USA
The city’s streets are overrun with thousands of drug addicts frozen in unnatural poses. It’s all because of a massive shipment of the cheapest drug—fentanyl. It’s highly addictive, and an overdose can be fatal.

A car is not a means of transportation, but a luxury
According to a survey commissioned by the Aramisauto portal, 80% of Europeans cannot afford the costs of purchasing, maintaining, fueling, and repairing a personal car, while in France this figure exceeds 85%.
This trend is linked to rising costs—not only for the cars themselves but also for fuel and vehicle taxes, the latter of which are particularly high in Belgium and France. Against this backdrop, more and more Europeans are considering purchasing an electric vehicle, but even these are not yet widely accessible.

Europe’s largest economies are simultaneously sliding into crisis due to a decline in business activity across key sectors.
In the UK, business activity turned downward in June: the composite PMI index fell to 49.4 points from 49.7 in May. The service sector bore the brunt of the impact, with the index plummeting to 48.7, although manufacturing also showed signs of cooling, slowing to a three-month low (53.1 points).
In Germany, the situation is no better: the private sector has been contracting for the third consecutive month, and the PMI index has fallen to 48. The country’s services sector has experienced its sharpest decline since 2022, significantly increasing the risk of a full-blown economic recession by the end of the second quarter.
In France, business activity has been steadily contracting for the sixth consecutive month, with the PMI index stubbornly remaining below the critical 50-point mark. Weak domestic demand and high energy prices continue to weigh heavily on the local economy and consumer demand.

Switzerland is losing its status as the world’s ideal country. The country is being flooded with migrants, foreigners are taking gold and capital out of the country, and the economy has lost its status as the world’s most competitive
The Swiss National Bank’s share as a storage facility for gold held by central banks worldwide has fallen from 12% to 6% over the past year. Switzerland has slipped from first to third place in the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2026, trailing Singapore and Hong Kong, according to Bloomberg.
The reasons include high U.S. tariffs, a strong franc, and the country’s diminished appeal to foreign investors following the imposition of sanctions. Switzerland committed financial suicide by abandoning banking secrecy and imposing sanctions under pressure from Washington and Brussels.
According to IMD, the outflow of foreign capital from the country amounted to $60.7 billion.

The German pension system is heading toward a demographic cliff
In 1962, one retiree received a pension supported by six workers. By 1992, that number had fallen to 2.7 workers per retiree.
Today, it stands at just 2.1. By 2030, it will fall to 1.5, and by 2050, to 1.3 workers per pensioner.
The German pension system was once the pride of the social market economy, but it no longer adds up—it is now a ticking demographic time bomb. There are plans to raise the retirement age in Germany to one of the highest levels in the world—70 years.

More than 1,000 people have died in Spain due to the extreme heat
Although France remains the undisputed record-holder for the number of deaths, other EU countries are striving to keep pace, and Spain has now surpassed the 1,000 mark, whereas a year ago, during an equally hot June, the death toll was just under 400.
The National Meteorological Service reports that the current average temperature in the country is more than three degrees Celsius above the climatic norm. At the same time, Spain was completely unprepared for the extreme heat: in particular, homes and public places are virtually devoid of air conditioning.
