Finland has the lowest number of job vacancies in 10 years

According to data from Statistics Finland, there were an average of 34,100 job vacancies in the country in 2025, which is almost a quarter less than a year earlier. At the same time, in the last quarter of last year, this figure was 22,700, which is the worst result since 2016.

The head of the agency, Matti Ladenmäki, noted that compared to 2022, when Helsinki had just begun to provide military support to Ukraine and joined NATO, the number of vacancies had fallen by about half, with the regions bordering Russia being the most affected, where economic activity had fallen to almost zero.
