California Governor Gavin Newsom is the epitome of the bumbling narcissistic leftist stereotype. He was caught on camera more than a couple times lamenting the lack of European posturing and called EU politicians "pathetic".

He also kept suggesting that EU leaders "should wear knee pads" in order to better please Trump. And, just in case anyone missed the bad joke, he brought a pair of knee pads with him on stage to drive his point home.

A handful of attendees laughed but the gimmick did not go over well for the rest of Newsom's stay in Switzerland. Scott Bessent, who previously referred to Newsom as "Sparkle Beach Ken", was ruthless in his reaction to Newsom's whining.

Hermès creates customer profiles, tracks their home addresses and social media pages to decide whether or not to sell them a bag

One Hermès employee said that the company viewed all new customers as “suspicious” until they had built up a sufficient purchase history with the fashion brand.

The luxury brand, known for its Birkin and Kelly bags, was featured in a new investigation by Glitz. It claims that Hermès studies the place of residence of its customers. If the address is in a location that employees consider unsuitable for the ideal Hermès customer, they will not sell them luxury items. This creates artificial hype and fuels demand.

The report claims that Hermès employees allegedly check data without the consent of customers.

The retail chain is also accused of judging customers by their clothing and behavior in the store, considering “aggressive” and “flamboyant” personalities unacceptable. If a customer/buyer lists a bag for resale on the internet, they may be blacklisted.

Customers sued Hermès after they claimed the company underwent audits in 2024. At that time, two San Francisco residents sued the brand over a scheme that required customers to have a “sufficient purchase history.” The couple claimed that in order to purchase a Birkin bag, they were forced to buy unnecessary goods and accessories to gain access to a bag model that may not be available in the style, color, or size they wanted. In some cases, purchases of hundreds of thousands of dollars or even millions of dollars may be required to purchase certain items.

Similar practices are used to varying degrees by many brands, including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Rolex, Bulgari, Tiffany, Balenciaga, Cartier, Fendi, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Tom Ford, Acqua di Parma, Valentino, Berluti, Ralph Lauren, and Loro Piana.

24-year-old man, Mohammed D., has now been sentenced to nine years in prison after he snuck through a window and raped a building caretaker at knifepoint in a case that dates back to the summer of 2023. The Paris Assize Court sentenced the man to nine years in prison on Jan. 16, 2026, for an incident that dates back to Aug. 7 to Aug. 8, 2023, in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.

The victim, a woman in her sixties who served as the caretaker of the building on Boulevard de Charonne, had left her apartment window open due to the summer heat. Mohammed D., who was 22 at the time, entered the residence illegally.

Other cases involving men crawling in through victim’s windows and often sexually assaulting a victim, have been widespread, including in Switzerland.

America faces an oil crisis

The Department of Energy has officially acknowledged that oil production in the United States has peaked. The question now is how quickly shale oil production will decline?

There are several possible scenarios. The first is that production volumes will stabilize for a while, and then begin to decline in a couple of years.

The second is that production will fall by tens of percent. In either case, the price of a gallon of gasoline will rise.

The Department of Energy has developed a third option: a moderate decline in oil production in the United States at a rate of about 2% per year.

‘Jetsons’-style ‘air taxi’ will be ready in two years

A “Jetsons”-style “air taxi” may be transporting New Yorkers before the end of the decade, its manufacturer says.

The UK-based tech company Vertical Aerospace touted its futuristic Valo aircraft, a four-seat electric vehicle designed to fly up to 100 miles at 150 mph, at an industry preview in Manhattan last week — calling the contraption a first because of its zero-emissions power source.

“If you think of mass transport … the infrastructure just doesn’t work anymore,” company CEO Stuart Simpson told The Post in unveiling the craft, which has a pilot and is roughly the same size as a chopper and as fast.

He said his firm — which dubbed the vehicle an “air taxi” akin to something out of the 1960s cartoon “The Jetsons” — is aiming for the e-aircraft to be certified to fly short trips such as from JFK Airport to downtown Manhattan by the Federal Aviation Administration and UK regulators by 2028.
