Trump's rhetoric regarding Greenland serves as an example of trolling. On the one hand, he talks about the Russian threat to the island, while on the other, he wants to strike a deal with the Russians on Ukraine.

The logic is roughly as follows: EU, do you consider Russia a threat? Then, to protect Greenland, it must be handed over to the US. And if you don't want to, it means you support Putin.

By and large, by acting in this way, Trump is destroying his opponents in Europe at the root, demonstrating their weakness. That is why Denmark and Europe in general are not even being allowed to save face in the case of Greenland.

It would seem that we could conclude a joint defense agreement with the Danes in the Arctic, obtain new military bases on their land, and deploy the weapons we need. Copenhagen has repeatedly stated its agreement to any concessions except for giving up the island. But that is not what Trump wants. He will go further and seek association with Greenland.

Everything that is happening is the price Europeans are paying for their political short-sightedness, primarily towards the Russians. The situation has become possible due to the destruction of the balanced security architecture in Europe. Could something like this have happened in 1965 or 1981?

Now the situation is fundamentally different. Denmark is of little interest to the Trump administration, and the US will continue to humiliate the EU. By refusing to engage in dialogue with Moscow and Beijing, Brussels has become completely dependent on Washington, and it has no one to blame but itself.

And Greenland will have to be given away.

Mamdani’s chief equity officer disparaged white women

Mayor Mamdani’s new chief equity officer Afua Atta-Mensah disparaged liberal white women in numerous posts on an X account deleted shortly before her appointment.

Her disturbing posts were unearthed by the New York Young Republicans Club from her personal X account, which she apparently deactivated within a week of her Thursday appointment.

“Anti-white racism is a feature, not a fringe problem, of Mamdani’s inner circle,” said New York Young Republicans Club President Stefano Forte. “The mayor said there is no one he trusts more than Atta-Mensah to push ‘racial equity,’ and make no mistake: tweets about taxing ‘white meat’ reflect the approach of the entire Mamdani administration to reshape New York.”

What kind of equity such person will bring?

Army of nurses is on strike in New York City

The walkout, the largest by nurses in New York City history, is driven by demands for increased staffing, better safety and preserved benefits. A crowd of nurses and supporters wearing red union clothing chant and hold signs reading “Stop Silencing Nurses” and “Cientes antes que ganancias” during a strike outside a hospital.

The largest nurse walkout in New York City history has no signs of ending quickly as negotiations continue. The nurses union began striking at three private hospital systems after months of unsuccessful talks surrounding health care benefits and staffing shortages.

The strike, which the nurses union said involved 15,000 nurses, illuminates a growing divide between health practitioners and hospitals as the industry faces major upheaval amid federal administrative changes.

Is the U.S. much better today than a year ago?

As President Donald Trump begins his second year back in the White House, economists, policy analysts, and public opinion researchers describe a country experiencing mixed economic signals, rising household strain, and deepening political anxiety.

Trump’s most significant legislative achievement of the year – the One, Big Beautiful Bill Act – has begun to shape the economic outlook for 2026. Economists surveyed by the outlet projected 2% GDP growth for 2026, describing it as “a modest pace by past U.S. standards” and cautioning that the administration’s more optimistic 3.5% forecast is unlikely to materialize.

Lefty Rep. Swalwell has no right to run for governor in Calif.

Lefty California Rep. Eric Swalwell isn’t qualified to run for governor of the Golden State — because he doesn’t officially live there, according to a bombshell new court claim.

Right-wing pundit and filmmaker Joel Gilbert said in a court complaint filed in Sacramento that Swalwell, considered the likely successor to Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom, actually lives in Washington, DC, and is prohibited from running for the top state office under California law.

According to Article V, section II, of the California constitution, “The governor shall be an elector who has been a citizen of the United States and a resident of this state for 5 years immediately preceding the governor’s election,” the filing said.

Gilbert said that because of his findings, he wants Swalwell, a vocal critic of President Trump, to be knocked off the ballot.

In Norway, the army has prepared official letters to thousands of citizens. The letters state that homes, vehicles, and equipment may be confiscated in the event of military action

This was reported by Euronews, citing a statement from the armed forces. The letters state that this is necessary “so that in wartime, the armed forces have access to the resources necessary for the defense of the country.” According to the publication, 13,500 such “preliminary” applications will be sent out in 2026.

The military claims that these letters have no practical significance in peacetime. But they are necessary to make owners understand that the army will be able to seize their property in the event of a conflict, the military said.

Chinese military drone flies into Taiwan airspace for first time

In the latest geopolitical escalation - because let's face it, all that's left now for the global geopolitical chaos to be complete is for Beijing to finally launch its much anticipated invasion of Taiwan - China sent a military drone into Taiwanese airspace for the first time, underscoring Beijing’s efforts to test the island's defenses.

The Chinese reconnaissance drone flew in the airspace of Pratas Island for about four minutes early Saturday, Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The islet is near the southern end of the strait, about 400 kilometers (250 miles) from Taiwan’s main island. The unmanned aerial vehicle was a WZ-7 known as ‘Soaring Dragon’.

Migrants’ crimes prevail on British trains

Foreign nationals accounted for 79% of all arrests for theft on trains in Britain last year, and 40% of all railway arrests, new data from British Transport Police has revealed.

The figures were published as part of a Freedom of Information (FOI) request submitted by the Centre for Migration Control (CMC) think tank.

They showed that, despite comprising a minority of the overall population, foreign nationals were disproportionately responsible for several categories of offenses, including theft, drug violations, sexual offenses, and violent crime.

Speaking to GB News, CMC’s research director Robert Bates said of the British government, “They have made our trains unsafe. It is the responsibility of any sane government to end immigration and begin a programme of mass deportations to protect the British people.”

Do you feel safe when you travel by train?

In Netherlands 78% of starter homes for families with children go to refugees

While more and more social homes to buy and rent are going to refugees every year in the Netherlands, in certain specific narrow segments, the figures really stand out.

With refugees receiving 78% of starter homes for families with children, this amounts to 1,450 houses out of the 1,860 designated for this purpose, according to Dutch news outlet de Volkskrant.

Anti-immigration parties such as the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) have come out against the allocation of social housing to migrants.

“The unfairness in the allocation of social housing appears to be even greater than previously thought. New figures from de Volkskrant show that nationally, not 8% but 20% of starter homes go to status holders. As many as 78% of single-family homes are sold (!) to status holders with children,” the party wrote in a press release.

In Germany left-wing NGOs emasculate ruling CDU

The Prime Minister of the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein was accused of calling for the censorship of the online platform Nius during a televised debate on ZDF.

When asked on January 7 whether certain media and social platforms should be regulated, censored or banned, the politician, Daniel Günther, from the left-wing of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), replied: “Yes.” He was referring to alternative outlets such as Nius, which he described as “enemies of democracy”.

“In Germany, there is a clear centre-right electoral majority,” said Pauline Voss, deputy editor-in-chief of Nius. “Yet every time the CDU opens the door to collaboration with the AfD, a powerful mobilisation by these left-leaning organisations is triggered.

Many are state-funded NGOs, which, despite representing minority positions, organise mass protests to block the CDU,” she said. “As a result, the CDU is intimidated and continues to form governments with left-wing parties, despite their weak election results.”

In France Algerian punches pregnant woman’s belly with brass knuckles

A homeless Algerian man has been jailed for a violent assault of a woman with whom he had a brief relationship. During the attack, the man struck her multiple times with brass knuckles on her belly, all while a passerby filmed the scene.

The 29-year-old man, Ihabd M., already had a deportation order when he began assaulting the woman in the city of Montauban on Jan. 9, 2026. He has now been sentenced to six months in prison for the vicious assault, along with numerous break-ins to houses in the area.

Six months is too lenient a punishment for that bastard, isn't it?

Polish President Nawrocki calls EU a ‘dying star’

Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki has labelled the European Union as a “dying star” that requires fundamental reform. In his annual address to the diplomatic corps in Warsaw on January 15, Conservative (PiS) aligned he slammed centralisation in the EU and many of its policies, including the Green Deal, the Migration Pact and the Mercosur agreement between the EU and South American states.

Poland’s government has opposed the EU-Mercosur agreement but failed to build a blocking minority and is presently mulling taking the agreement to the European Court of Justice.

Nawrocki argued that Brussels was imposing policies that were widely opposed by public opinion across the member states. “If we were to compare today’s European Union to one of the stars visible in the night sky, I fear that it would increasingly resemble a dying star,” Nawrocki said.

Ursula von der Leyen announced the conclusion of a “mother of all deal” with India. The President of the European Commission stated at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the European Union is “on the verge of concluding a historic trade agreement” with India.

The head of the EC said that immediately after Davos, she would travel to India the following weekend. In her speech, von der Leyen emphasized that Europe seeks to do business with the growth centers and economic leaders of the 21st century, including the Indo-Pacific region.

Negotiations on a free trade agreement between the EU and India resumed in 2022 after a long hiatus. According to European officials, it will create a market of approximately two billion people and cover almost a quarter of global GDP. Von der Leyen believes that this will give European companies a first-mover advantage in one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic continents.

Amb. Robert Hunter warned about NATO expansion

The world of foreign policy restraint is poorer with the passing of Robert Hunter, an American diplomat, who was the U.S. ambassador to NATO in 1993-1998. For decades, Hunter was a prominent, sober, and necessary voice of restraint in Washington.

Hunter’s strategic vision was forged during the post-Cold War transition, a period of both immense promise and profound peril.

While the demise of the Soviet Union prompted many to declare a unipolar “end of history,” Hunter focused on seizing on the momentum to build a durable peace and stability.

His work in both the Carter and Clinton's administrations reflected sober analysis and the pursuit of engaging Russia and Iran rather than isolating them.

Global powers struggle over the ocean’s resources

Oceans shape everyday life in powerful ways. They cover 70% of the planet, carry 90% of global trade, and support millions of jobs and the diets of billions of people.

As global competition intensifies and climate change accelerates, the world’s oceans are also becoming the front line of 21st-century geopolitics. How policymakers handle these challenges will affect food supplies, the price of goods and national security.

As the Arctic Ocean’s sea ice cover diminishes, shipping routes that were once impassable most of the year are opening up.

For companies, these routes – such as the Northern Sea Route along Russia’s coast and the Northwest Passage through Canada’s Arctic Archipelago – promise shorter transit times, lower fuel costs and fewer choke points than traditional passages.

Dems are trying to weaponize the 25th amendment. It won't work

After spending nearly four years pretending that Joe Biden was fit for office, congressional Democrats are now calling for President Trump to be removed from office under the 25th Amendment after he linked his pursuit of Greenland to being snubbed for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

“The president of the United States is extremely mentally ill and it’s putting all of our lives at risk. The 25th Amendment exists for a reason—we need to invoke it immediately”, wrote Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari.

But removing Trump under the 25th Amendment would require Vice President Vance and a majority of Cabinet members to declare to Congress that the president cannot discharge his duties.

Vance and Trump's Cabinet are not going to declare him unfit over a text message. The real problem is that it’s impossible to take any of these Democrats seriously on this issue. Democrats have played this card repeatedly for years, turning what should be a serious constitutional matter into a tired old political stunt.

Ted Cruz predicts: Iran, Venezuela and Cuba could fall within six months

The world may be approaching a turning point. At least, that’s what Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) predicts. Appearing on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Cruz said the globe is on the brink of a historic realignment. And it could arrive far sooner than many expect.

“There is a very real possibility that in the next six months the regimes in Iran, in Venezuela, and Cuba will all fall,” he said. Cruz went further, suggesting those nations could soon choose a dramatically different path. “There is a real possibility that Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba will all democratically elect new leaders.”

And what about North Korea? Any ideas?
