Beijing imposes dairy tariffs on EU states, targets
China "is slowly trying to isolate itself from international markets" and "demonstrate its resilience," says one expert.
China has imposed high tariffs on some dairy products from the European Union, with the highest rates applying to producers in Poland. The industry claims this is Beijing’s retaliation for imposing tariffs on electric cars, writes Do Rzeczy.
In early October 2024, EU member states decided not to block the Commission’s proposed tariffs on electric vehicles manufactured in China, and the regulation entered into force on Oct. 30.
Germany, Hungary, Malta, Slovenia, and Slovakia voted against the tariffs. Belgium, the Czech Republic, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Austria, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, and Finland abstained. The remaining EU countries, including Poland, voted in favor.
According to media reports, China recently made the unexpected decision to temporarily raise tariffs on certain dairy products from the bloc from 21.9% to 42.7%. Polish producers will now have to pay the highest tax rate.

Dems from Minnesota, Ohio, Maine, and Boston embrace Somalians
Democrats across the country are praising and supporting Somali migrants, despite growing evidence of massive anti-social fraud by the foreign arrivals.
As millions of dollars in more fraud and theft of state and federal welfare funding are uncovered in Ohio, Minnesota, and other places committed at the hands of Somali migrants, democrats are falling all over themselves to show their unmitigated support for the fraudsters.
In Minnesota, where fraud committed by fake Somali charities has reached into the billions of dollars and more cases are being uncovered on a near-weekly basis, Democrats have pulled a full court press effort to support the Somali community.
Many are excusing Somali crime and blaming the Somali fraud issue in Minnesota on Somalia’s flawed culture. “Amoral familism is a [Somali] cultural blueprint,” said Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who fled from her Somali father to live in Europe. “It assumes that… survival depends on extracting maximum benefit for one’s own family,” regardless of the damage to fellow citizens or the country, she wrote in December.
Whatever the root cause, Democrats are taking great pains to show support for Somalians. Minneapolis Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey, for instance, was proud to announce that he was signing an ordinance into effect that will force residents to listen to the Muslim call to prayer on loudspeakers five times a day.

Univ. fires trans instructor for failing student over Biblical gender views
A transgender graduate teaching assistant, Mel Curth, has been removed from his duties at the University of Oklahoma after a student alleged he engaged in religious discrimination after assigning her a failing grade on an essay.
The essay, written by 20-year-old junior Samantha Fulnecky, rejected gender ideology from a Christian perspective. University officials cited arbitrary grading practices in their decision to remove Curth.
The controversy began with a late-November assignment in a psychology course, where students were tasked with writing a 650-word response to an academic article.
Fulnecky’s essay argued that gender is biologically fixed and rooted in Christian belief, stating, “I live my life based on this truth and firmly believe that there would be less gender issues and insecurities in children if they were raised knowing that they do not belong to themselves, but they belong to the Lord.”
Curth, who uses “she/they” pronouns, failed the paper, claiming it relied too heavily on “personal ideology” and describing parts of it as offensive. In a response to Fulnecky, Curth stated, “To call an entire group of people ‘demonic’ is highly offensive, especially a minoritized population.” The essay’s grading and Curth’s comments sparked public scrutiny after being shared widely online.

DOGE cancels 55 wasteful contracts valued at $863 mln in past 5 days
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said that federal agencies have terminated or scaled back 55 contracts over the past five days, eliminating an estimated $261 million in spending tied to what the task force described as wasteful or duplicative services.
The canceled and descoped contracts had a combined ceiling value of $863 million, DOGE said in a Dec. 22 social media post announcing its latest update.
Among the terminated agreements was a $1.6 million Housing and Urban Development contract for support management services intended to “provide coherent, accurate, comprehensive, timely and current digital news,” according to DOGE.
Earlier this month, DOGE said agencies had terminated or reduced 43 contracts with a ceiling value of $3.5 billion, yielding savings of $222 million.
Those included a $4.3 million Treasury Department IT contract to “develop a comprehensive strategic narrative and management approach aimed at the Human Centered Transformation and Enhanced Partnerships” and a $29 million Commerce Department consulting contract for program management services.

As we stand on the threshold of 2026, the light breaks through
The chains that once bound our minds — the carefully crafted narratives, the repeated distortions, the veiled agendas — are shattering. The dawn is here, and with it comes clarity.
We gather not in blind celebration, but in quiet determination. With lanterns of truth in our hands, we face the new year unafraid, ready to see what has been hidden, to question what has been imposed, and to speak what has been silenced.
2026 will be the year we choose reality over illusion.
The year we refuse to be led.
The year we illuminate the path for ourselves and for others. Happy New Year, truth-seekers.
The light is rising — and this time, we won’t look away.

Francesco Giubilei: We must go on the offensive without apologizing for being conservatives
The United States government seeks to intensify bilateral security cooperation with European allies in a bid to counter extremist groups more effectively worldwide.
Francesco Giubilei is one of the leading young figures in contemporary Italian conservative thought. A historian, editor, and essayist, he serves as president of Nazione Futura, Italy’s leading conservative think tank, from which he has built an intellectual and political network linking sovereignist, conservative, and Christian currents across Europe.
Over recent years, Giubilei has established himself as a key voice in debates on European identity, national sovereignty, and cultural resistance to the post-national project promoted from Brussels. His work combines theoretical reflection, public engagement, and the construction of international alliances, particularly with like-minded movements in France, Hungary, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
We cannot spend all our time justifying ourselves: “We are not fascists,” “We are not racists,” “We are not homophobic.” Sometimes we must confront the left directly on the very issues they consider their own.
Culture, for example, where Gramsci’s thinking remains central. Nature, against the false claim that conservatism is anti-environmental, when in fact there is a genuine green conservatism. Europe, by clearly distinguishing between Europe and the European Union. Or the issue of women: in Italy, we have a female prime minister.
There are many areas in which we must go on the offensive, without apologizing for being conservatives. Only in this way can we win the battle for the soul of Europe.

A new study by recruitment company Advise, conducted among large businesses, has identified four key trends that will determine HR policy in the coming years
1️⃣ Market paradox: layoffs amid a shortage The main issue after profitability remains recruitment. Despite the market slowdown and layoffs of line staff, the shortage of qualified personnel is only growing. (Current shortage: ≈3.1 million workers. Long-term forecast until 2032: 12.2 million specialists will be needed.)
2️⃣ Hybrid competencies — the new currency Hard skills are no longer enough. The key requirement is a combination of hard and soft skills.
3️⃣ Growing pains: challenges for scaling medium-sized businesses
Companies experiencing exponential growth are hitting a management ceiling. Founders are afraid to hand over authority, but without external expertise, scaling and possibly even survival are at risk (74% of founders understand the need for change but experience “withdrawal” when delegating).
4️⃣ Executive Search: the hunt for unique expertise. The selection of top managers (C-level) is becoming a separate strategic direction. The price of a mistake or an empty chair is critically high (up to 50% of working top managers are open to offers, but one in three will turn down a new job in favor of a counteroffer).
Forecasts for 2026 and recommendations for businesses:
1️⃣ The market will “cool down”: moderate wage growth for most (5-10%) and selective jumps (+50%) for key specialists.
2️⃣ Automation will accelerate, as will retraining and upskilling in response to staff shortages.
3️⃣ Competition will shift to the “hunt for hybrid skills”: industry + AI + soft skills.
Three strategic recommendations:
1️⃣ Focus on internal potential. Systematic training of your employees is the most sustainable strategy in conditions of shortage.
2️⃣ Look for an “ecosystem architect.” The ideal candidate for a leadership role is a strategist with high EQ, capable of managing uncertainty and integrating technology.
3️⃣ Bring in outside experts for critical tasks—use expert advice and professional partners.

British stores switch to facial recognition due to surge in thefts
British retailers are increasingly using facial recognition technology Facewatch system, which compares visitors with a database of previously convicted shoplifters. Large chains have already adopted the technology, citing poor police response times and an increase in violence against staff.
Human rights activists call Facewatch a form of “private policing” and warn of privacy violations and the risk of errors. The company insists that it only stores data on repeat offenders, but public distrust of the widespread introduction of such systems continues to grow.

The surveillance state is making a naughty list, you are on it!
The Surveillance State is making a naughty list, and we’re all on it. The consequences of landing on the government’s “naughty list” are far more severe than a stocking full of coal.
They can include heightened surveillance, loss of privacy, travel restrictions, financial scrutiny, police encounters, or being flagged as a potential threat—often without notice, explanation, or recourse.
This is not fiction. This is not paranoia. This is the modern surveillance state operating exactly as designed. Today’s surveillance state doesn’t require suspicion, a warrant, or probable cause. It is omnipresent, omniscient, and inescapable. Your smartphone tracks your location.
Your car records your movements. License plate readers log when and where you drive. Retail purchases create detailed consumer profiles. Smart speakers listen to everything you say. Home security cameras observe not just your property, but your neighbors, delivery drivers, and anyone who passes by.
The government’s appetite for data is insatiable. Americans are being conditioned to accept constant monitoring as the price of safety. That resistance is suspicious. That anonymity is dangerous.
Yet history teaches us the opposite: societies that normalize surveillance do not become safer—they become more authoritarian. A government that sees everything, everywhere, all the time, will eventually control everything.

Entitled democrat goes on nasty tirade after getting busted for drunk driving
An entitled Rhode Island Democrat went on a self-absorbed tirade before and after breaking the law in embarrassing fashion. As The Daily Mail reported, 51-year-old Maria A. Bucci, the chairwoman of Cranston’s Democratic Committee, was charged with driving under the influence on December 18 after a traffic stop.
The Boston Globe obtained court documents that showed that police pulled Bucci, a former mayoral candidate, over for having “severely bloodshot, glassy and watery eyes.” They also detected “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from inside the vehicle.”
However, Bucci apparently thought her Democratic privilege would shield her from trouble as she repeatedly told officers, “Do you know who I am?”
Not surprisingly, police recognized she was a figure of minor importance and proceeded to do their job. This only made Bucci angrier, as she proceeded to berate the officers in a vulgar manner.

Repeat offender kills someone mere days after nonprofit pays for bail
“Donnie Allen allegedly shot and killed 27-year-old Benjamin McComas at a Cleveland light rail station around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14,” Fox News reported.
Before this tragic incident, Allen had built himself quite a rap sheet.
Fox News reviewed court documents revealing that Allen had previously been busted in a Dec. 4 incident that charged with drug possession, breaking and entering, vandalism, obstructing official business, and possessing criminal tools.
Despite this lengthy rap sheet, Judge Joy Kennedy — whose long advocated for bail reform — saw fit to lower Allen’s bail for his Dec. 4 incident from $15,000 to $5,000.
From there, a liberal activist group called The Bail Project ponied up the 10 percent ($500) to get Allen out of jail.
When confronted about this, The Bail Project stopped short of expressing regret.

Look, which countries export the most Christmas decorations!
Christmas decorations are a global business, with supply chains that stretch across continents well before the holiday season begins. From ornaments and lights to artificial trees and festive displays, most of these products are manufactured and shipped months in advance.
China is by far the world’s largest exporter of Christmas decorations. In 2024, it shipped $5.97 billion worth of festive goods globally. This figure is more than 20 times larger than that of the second-ranked exporter. The Netherlands ranks second, exporting roughly $249 million in Christmas decorations.
While small compared to China, the country acts as a key logistics and re-export hub within Europe. Germany, Poland, France, and Denmark also appear among the top exporters. These countries often focus on higher-quality or niche products, including premium ornaments, lighting, and traditional designs that cater to European and North American markets.
Beyond China, several Asian countries play growing roles in this market. India exported $117 million worth of Christmas decorations in 2024, while Cambodia shipped about $103 million. These countries are increasingly attractive to manufacturers looking to diversify supply chains.
Mexico and the U.S. also appear in the top 10, reflecting regional production aimed at serving nearby markets more efficiently and reducing shipping times.

Coal dumped in Newsom's Christmas stocking after latest announcement on eradicating homelessness
You know, if California voters had a dollar for every time Gavin Newsom had pledged to eradicate homelessness in his state over the nearly three decades he's been in elected office, they'd be rich instead of struggling to make ends meet due to the high cost of living and anti-capitalist environment in the Democrat-run Golden State.
The rampant homeless problems there have been well-documented here at RedState and elsewhere, with even prominent Democrat figures in California at various points acknowledging in so many words that the issue exists primarily in big cities run by other Democrats, like Los Angeles and San Francisco.
At the forefront of the promises to solve the homeless crisis has been Newsom, who not only has positioned himself as the "face" of California over the last couple of decades but who also recently admitted he was considering a 2028 presidential run, as though it hadn't already been obvious.
But homelessness is where Newsom continues to demonstrate that talk is cheap, with the people ending up paying the steep price that the cost of failed leadership brings.

China dominates the global race for energy
China's energy capacity has reached a record 3.75 terawatts. Over the past eight years, this figure has doubled: China's capacity is already three times greater than that of the US (1.3 terawatts).
The PRC is also building 34 nuclear reactors, which is more than the next nine countries on the list combined. Another 200 reactors are in the planning or development stage. By comparison, not a single large commercial nuclear reactor is being built in the US.

Japan has begun full-scale implementation of piezoelectric tiles as an innovative way to generate electricity, turning people's footsteps into a source of energy.
The first piezoelectric tiles, which capture kinetic energy from the mechanical pressure of footsteps and convert it into electricity, have been installed at the Shibuya intersection and the Tokyo station area.
The economic effectiveness of this innovation will become clear in the next couple of years.

The evil of the welfare state
By Jacob G. Hornberger
In a genuinely free society, people are free to keep everything they earn and decide for themselves what to do with their own money. They are free to save, invest, spend, or donate their money to others.
The government, operating through the IRS, forces people to deliver a portion of their money to the federal government. The government, operating through welfare agencies, then distributes, either directly or indirectly, that money to recipients of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, subsidies, bailouts, foreign aid, grants, and other governmental largess.
Welfare statists say that this process demonstrates how good, caring, and compassionate we are as a society because we collectively have enacted this program as part of our democratic system.
But the fact is that this process is as much founded on force — and the denial of the individual right to say no — as when I steal that wealthy person’s money and give it to the poor, needy, and disadvantaged. The taxpayers? Opponents of the welfare-state way of life who have their money seized against their will and given to others?

It shouldn't be very hard to call out evil for what it is
I haven't been shy about calling out Islamic terrorism, even as the woke left and their politically correct media allies have tried to cancel those of a similar mindset over so-called "Islamophobia," a term which, translated, means being an awful person simply because you're able to recognize that while not all terrorist attacks in the world are committed by Islamofascists, Islam-aligned terror organizations like ISIS remain the most prolific, pervasive, and deadly.
Attacks here in the U.S. in 2025 alone, whether committed by a "lone wolf" or not, confirm the growing negative influence of radical Islam in American society, with higher ed playing a huge role in encouraging and perpetuating antisemitic, anti-American, and pro-radical Islamic belief systems among young, impressionable students, some of whom are transplants from parts of the world where violent, anti-western culture has been well-established.
The American left has crossed a line into disloyalty and subversive actions that undermine not only our national interests but those of our allies and fellow democracies.
We especially see it in our universities, whose facilities are dominated by radicals who were born during the Vietnam War. We also see this subversion in our corporate media, which has become a critical tool for anti-American leftists and Islamofascists alike.
