On Saturday, the 29th of November, we celebrated the Divine Liturgy in English at the Temple of St. Nicholas. The service was jointly officiated by Frs. Valentin and Igor, and we were glad to welcome our rector, Fr. Antoniy! Fr. Deacon Georgiy assisted.
The service was also attended by a group of trainees from the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, and a crew from Spas TV.
Fr. Antoniy offered a sermon commenting on the Gospel reading of the day, on the many lessons we can draw from Jesus calling the Holy Apostle Matthew, previously a hated tax collector, to the discipleship. Please see that sermon, available in English and Russian, in the preceding post!
Afterwards, we gathered for our traditional breakfast meal, where, among many other activities, we congratulated our parishioner Mark on his birthday!
