The State Department released documents Wednesday proving that would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh was under investigation for violating arms trafficking rules--likely related to his efforts to recruit foreign fighters to Ukraine.
The State Department documents released Wednesday include a Nov. 7, 2023, email from its Political-Military Unit Chief in the Kyiv Embassy, asking a research librarian for a copy of a March 2023 New York Times article detailing Routh’s efforts. The librarian responded the same day with a copy of the article, in which Routh reportedly told the Times that he “planned to move [Afghan soldiers], in some cases illegally, from Pakistan and Iran to Ukraine.”
It’s not clear what the Political-Military Unit Chief did with that article. The next State Department email related to the Routh investigation didn’t come until more than nine months later, when another department official asked for a “Clearance Request: Directed Disclosure letter for Ryan Routh” on Aug. 27, 2024. That email is entirely redacted, again making it unclear what exactly the department was investigating.
When Routh tried killing Trump less than three weeks later—a Secret Service agent spotted him in the bushes with a rifle at Trump’s Palm Beach golf course—an apparent State Department security contractor expressed what many online observers were thinking: Was Routh a government asset?
“Nothing says ‘groomed by the Feds’ as a nut that is repeatedly ‘not jailed’ for serious crimes and is an avid ‘ActBlue’ donor,” said a State Department Worldwide Protective Service security specialist, whose name is redacted—referring to Routh’s criminal history and his donations to the pro-Democrat Political Action Committee. “I wonder if Vegas has odds on him committing Arkancide in jail?”

We’ve obtained a video that would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh surreptitiously recorded in Ukraine in early 2022.
The footage shows volunteer fighters complaining about how badly the warfighting efforts were going against Russia.
“I was like, ‘What’s the grid coordinates?’ They’re like, ‘We don’t know.’ I was like, ‘How the fuck do you not know?’” one volunteer recounted
Two volunteers even said the Ukrainians were stealing from them.
“They stole one of my bags … At least they just got old clothes and shoes, but it’s still a few hundred dollars worth of equipment,” one volunteer, who had an American accent, can be heard saying.
“I had 6,000 pounds of gear stolen outside of the battalion HQ,” another volunteer with a British accent said.

Tucker Carlson asked Joe Kent why the Thomas Crooks surveillance tapes haven’t been released.
Kent’s answer blew him away.
He explained the government deliberately withholds information to create noise with conspiracy theories, so the “actual question never gets answered.”
TUCKER: “The current president was the subject of a near-successful assassination attempt.”
“And we’re just not going to look into very obviously or divulge information that everyone knows they have.”
“For example, the surveillance tape from the shooting range at which Thomas Crooks trained, because it would answer the question, was he training with somebody?”
“And if so, who? They have that footage, and they won’t release it. What could possibly be the explanation for that?”
KENT: “I know what the result is. The result is people come to their own conclusions. And this is where crazy conspiracy theories come from.”
“And then those conspiracy theories usually are easy to ‘debunk’ or make the people saying them sound crazy. So then the actual question never gets answered.”
[Tucker laughs in awe]
TUCKER: “Sorry. Can you say that for people who haven’t lived in Washington?”
“I try to explain this to people all the time because this has been ongoing since at least the Kennedy assassination.”
“But this is a very serious and recurring thing. It’s a tactic. And you just explained it better than anyone I’ve ever heard. Can you just do that again?”
KENT: “So basically, you give no information whatsoever on something that’s obvious, that there should be information.”
“You outlined there’s potentially footage of Crooks at the shooting range. Again, police, 101, go get the tapes. Let’s figure it out.”
“If you don’t want to address that question, then you just go silent. You say, ‘you can’t ask that question,’ which then creates people who come out of kind of nowhere, and they start drawing their own conclusions.”
“Knowing the way the internet works, half of them, if not more, are probably going to be so far off in left field... that then you can just be like, Oh, these people asking these questions about that tape at the video range. Crazy conspiracy theorists.’”
“And so then you’ve just diverted all attention away from the thing that you’re trying to conceal. And now everyone’s focused on the crazies.”

During the “Weekend Update” segment, co-host Michael Che joked about Trump attending a performance at the Kennedy Center, before making a remark that alluded to the 1865 assassination of Abraham Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth.
"President Trump attended the opening night of Chicago at the Kennedy Center, and I think that's cool that the president is going to the theatre. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen?” Che said.

The Secret Service demonstrably failed to protect him on more than one occasion. A perfect set of circumstances for a “lone gunman” to climb a roof to take an easy shot occurred.

The FBI released more Thomas Crooks records in response to the JudicialWatch lawsuit A few interesting ones, but far more noteworthy imo is what the FBI withheld, and why. Some records are sealed, while others cite b7D--the exemption used to protect the identity of informants
