Some things to reflect on…

🚪 Micah 6: God's Narrow Way

All too often, we take God's grace for granted. Sometimes, we belittle His grace, other times, we disregard, ignore or completely gloss over it.

Just as God pines after us, is in pain when we stray, may these lyrics melt and move our hearts to remember His will and way, lest it is too late to be saved.

I gave My life for thee, what hast thou giv'n for Me?

Join us in our study of Micah 7 (Wednesday) and Nahum 1 (Friday) this week.
“… if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”- Matthew 17:20

Perhaps because faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, most times, the outward appearance of our lives is no indicator of the size of our faith.

Regardless of how big or small your blessings seem, look up God, hold close to your heart that a life in God is in and of itself the greatest of them all.

With what faith do you live by? Let’s ponder more here.

Read 🌄 Micah 7: Sin and Sorrow Remembered No More

Who is like the Lord our God,
Who dwells on high,
Who humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?

Indeed, there is none.

Who can speak of another god,
Who does not retain anger forever, delights in mercy,
Who desires but broken spirits and contrite hearts,
That salvation grace might be freely given them?

Join us in our study of Nahum 1 on Friday.
“If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honour.” - John 12:26

The reasons why we serve vary - of duty, of obligation, reputation, guilt, the list goes on.

Regardless of our motivations and intentions, before, during and after our service, let us mindfully mull over - are our deeds in tandem with our closeness to God?

How inextricably linked is our life of service to true faithfulness to God?

Read on here to learn more about what serving means to God.
Read 🪨 Nahum 1: Slow to Anger, Great in Power

Nothing and no one can contain or describe the full measure of God. All of creation is under HIs grace and at His mercy.

When God returns for His final judgement, will we be firmly planted as His faithful remnant, or will we be as the wicked, utterly cut off?

Join us in our study of Nahum 2 (Monday), Nahum 3 (Wednesday), and Habakkuk 1 (Friday) in the coming week.
Read 💨 Nahum 2: Returned to Dust

Amidst the violent destruction of Nineveh, we clearly see God's relentless hand in keeping His promise of an excellently restored Israelite nation.

As our God takes away just as easily as He blesses, let us fortify our hearts and minds with the fear of the LORD, that we might win every battle against the ruin of sin.

Join us in our study of Nahum 3 (Wednesday) and Habakkuk 1 (Friday) this week.
“Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!” - Luke 15:6

A single line of thought to ponder on - as Jesus never wavers in faithfulness and diligence to shepherd, are we likewise, faithful and diligent to Him and His chosen fold?

Graze on grace from our good Shepherd here.

Read 🔚 Nahum 3: The Final Straws

The depravity of sin that man is capable of testing God with is graphically spelled out in this chapter.

Such is a window through which we learn what a nation ripe for God's judgement looks like.

Bearing witness to the end of wickedness, today, as the state of the world continues to deteriorate, what have we done/are we doing to ameliorate before its too late?

Join us in our study of Habakkuk 1 on Friday.

“… I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”- John 14:6

Why are we given life if none of us is exempt from its end?

At such a time when information and knowledge are in excess, what should we believe?

Is there an everlasting unbreakable promise upon which our hopes can take root and bear fruit?
“For the Lord will not cast off forever. Though He causes grief, yet He will show compassion according to the multitude of His mercies.” - Lamentations 3:31-32

Our life stories are the sum of strung up series of choices.

What both unites and separates our stories from the rest is our relentlessness and humility, especially when we’ve stumbled, in choosing God’s choice over and again.

Fix your sights on God and His truth here.

Surely, even the most good-natured of us flinches at the sight of injustice.

Often, we are met with seemingly unfair treatment; the wicked store up for themselves the best portions, the good pick up crumbs scattered.

But, let us take heart, keep the faith, and hold on to the hope in God's wondrous ways -

"... God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the
base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are ..."

“…the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” - Isaiah 59:1

But, how much longer will the Lord tarry with the wicked, withhold His wrath from those who sin against their very own souls?

Not long now will God’s appointed time come, His righteous vengeance exacted, and all be made aright, filled only with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.

Join us in our study of Habakkuk 3 (Wednesday) and Zephaniah 1 (Friday) this week.
“He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly.” - Proverbs 13:24

If truths are the stitches that hold together the fabric of existence, love is the needle and thread.

Love does not cower in fear of the truth; love compels us to abide by and in truth, whatever the context and circumstance.

The next time we correct or are corrected, carefully consider the truth in such love - accept or further assess in humility.

Read 🌈 Habakkuk 3: Faith in God’s Faithfulness

God’s absolute rule prevails over and above all.

There is nothing too grand, nothing too daunting, nothing too formidable that God alone cannot overcome.

Although presently stuck in consequences of sin, God will descend, utterly destroy and deliver, as long as we, in return, never cease to fear, obey and keep the faith.

Join us in our study of Zephaniah 1 on Friday.
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” - Proverbs 4:23

Are we good keepers of our own hearts; masters of our own thoughts, emotions, speech and actions?

How easily controlled and overcome are we by all other input?

As man’s hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked, devote them to God to make straight our paths, in rightful fulfilment of His will.

Read 🌋 Zephaniah 1: God’s Righteous Reckoning

Only one ending remains for those who choose to stay complacent in sin - utter annihilation.

Absolutely nothing man has made is any match against God.

So, better sooner than too late, let us be certain of where we stand - when our God returns to rescue His faithful remnant from His wrath, where will we be found?

Join us in our study of Zephaniah 2 (Monday), Zephaniah 3 (Wednesday), and Haggai 1 (Friday) in the coming week.

“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” - Matthew 24:30

Many hope for better tomorrows, both for themselves and for loved ones.

Our lives are then lived in pursuit of these hopes.

Once fulfilled, what’s next? What is a hope that withstands and surpasses even the test of time?

Truly, what do we seek from this life?

Do we really seek God and everything He stands for?

Or do we really seek riches and honour of the earth?

If the latter, do we see the error of our ways, turn to pine after God?

Or do we remain relentlessly ambivalent and indifferent, unmoved by God’s sure sentences?

Join us in our study of Zephaniah 3 (Wednesday) and Haggai 1 (Friday) this week.
“I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:20

Especially when it seems no one sees, cares and understands, Jesus stands with His eyes, ears and arms open wide.

Often, it may be that the greatest struggle in our faith is fully trusting in a Saviour we cannot see, hear and feel.

Even so, may God’s Holy Spirit bring to remembrance His faithfulness to His promises to us and lead us where He wills.

Soon, God will return and fill every corner with His holiness. Soon, sin will separate us no more. Soon, we will eternally be raised and reunited with God.

Now, we live for God in the joy of this hope.
