Read 💼 Haggai 1: I must be about my Father’s business

Our list of daily “To-Dos” never ends.

Each day welcomes its own assortment of worries, each worry seemingly more pressing than the previous.

The most worrisome of them is having worried and worked in vain, winding up still in want.

God’s sovereign will for us to work for Him first is the only way we will gain what we need in this world.

Join us in our study of Haggai 2 (Monday), Zechariah 1 (Wednesday), and Zechariah 2 (Friday) in the coming week.
Read 🌅 Haggai 2: A Greater Glory

Sometimes, God puts us through hardship and suffering, lets us learn the hard way, to remind us to return to Him and His holy way.

Because our God is righteous, almighty, sovereign, His ultimate will and promise to restore all creation, to even better than before, is sealed.

Until then, God requires no more than perseverance in our faithfulness and hope in His unshakable commands and promises.

Join us in our study of Zechariah 1 (Wednesday) and Zechariah 2 (Friday) this week.
“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”” - Hebrews 13:5

These days, readily accessible and pervasive media has normalised the act of peering through windows of someone else’s life.

Even if not intentionally, subconsciously, we quickly identify our lack in stark contrast to others’ abundance.

But, when we keep our wandering eyes fixed on God, in living for His will, we will see in full view, that God alone is all we need seek.

Read on for more on lifelong treasures we should endeavour to acquire.

Be guided by:

- Discussion questions
- Student/Child(ren)-led prayer
Read 🏰 Zechariah 1: A Kingdom in Wait

No matter how distant, scattered, and divided God’s chosen people have grown over the course of history, the intensity of God’s mercy and zeal for them has never once been altered.

All things, including the superficially counterproductive separation of His people, will work together for His good.

Join us in our study of Zechariah 2 on Friday.
“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” - Proverbs 15:3

Too much escapes human eyes, too many unseen by naked eyes, too little accurately discerned by our mind’s eyes.

How can we ever trust our own filtered point of view?

Instead of searching high and low for ways to live right, have we first turned our hearts and eyes to God, sought after His guiding light?

Read this to learn how.
Read 🔥 Zechariah 2: God’s Immeasurable Might and Glory

When God returns to renew all creation, no man can withstand and behold the fullness of God.

Until His great coming, let us worship and esteem God in this same awe and reverence, lest we become shaken from God’s presence.

Join us in our study of Zechariah 3 (Monday), Zechariah 4 (Wednesday), and Zechariah 5 (Friday) in the coming week.
Read 👕👚 Zechariah 3: Sin No More

Hard as it is to imagine the reality of a world without sin, a world reordered and made anew, such is the faith and hope God requires of us.

When we have been judged and counted worthy, in robes cleansed, we will be reunited with God in His promised land.

Join us in our study of Zechariah 4 (Wednesday) and Zechariah 5 (Friday) this week.
Read this reflection on education.

No stronger emphasis placed on good academic standing than what has been maintained in Singapore for decades.

Many of us study hard to increase our probabilities and prospects of securing stable jobs, mostly driven by selfish ambition, lofty aspirations and/or the pressure to meet socially applaudable self-preservation standards.

In the multitude of our anxieties and preoccupations, have we any realisations about all our getting in relation to God?

Do we strive for better for God and with God as our center?
Read 🕯️🫒 Zechariah 4: Spirit out of Slumber

How reliant on the power of God’s unrelenting Holy Spirit are we in every aspect of our lives?

When God returns, will we be found sound asleep or wide awake, vigilant, and faithful witnesses of everything God has already foretold?

Join us in our study of Zechariah 5 on Friday.
Read this to learn - The Bible does not cover up this reality - Life is short and miserable.

Although some days seem long, years pass as quickly as they come.

Time drags on especially long while we're stumbling through suffering and struggles, the end or a breakthrough not even remotely in sight.

Walking into the second quarter of the year, perhaps there is much we have yet to accomplish, perhaps we have already been met with one too many setbacks, perhaps we simply can't wait for the year to end.

A promise God will never fail to keep - "weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5). God is faithful, knows the limit to the burdens we can bear and escape from.

So, regardless of circumstance, now and later, let us take heart and keep our faith firmly planted in God's absolute truth - all things will work together for good to those who love Him, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Read 📜🧺 Zechariah 5: The Ruin of The Wicked

Wretchedness abounds and flourishes in this world. What we think is already bad today will only continue to worsen with time.

Carefully consider - where will God find us when He rolls out His final judgements? Will we be thrown down and consumed or called out and rescued?

Join us in our study of Zechariah 6 (Monday), Zechariah 7 (Wednesday), and Zechariah 8 (Friday) in the coming week.
Read 🍃👑 Zechariah 6: The Spirit that has Found Rest upon HIs Throne

Such is the authority and power of the Holy Spirit of God -

Upon which God's holy temple bearing the glory of God is built and perpetuated; His Holy Spirit dwells, rules, ministers, and mediates between God and man.

This is the Peace found in God alone.

Join us in our study of Zechariah 7 on Wednesday and Zechariah 8 on Friday.
Read this reflection on growth firmly rooted in God’s truth.

With time, the world will only grow messier, more crowded, become less kind.

Herein lies what God needs us to learn: maintain a Christ-like image through every twist and turn.

As we immerse ourselves into our newfound identity as educated young adults, endeavouring to excel (or for some, simply get by), is our commitment and devotion to God in prayer, searching His word, and service just as, if not, even more all-encompassing?
Read🍴🫗 Zechariah 7: Obedience better than any Sacrifice

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” - Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Our God has never delighted more in mere outward expressions of faith than true and complete obedience to Him and His Word.

Let us reflect - what are regular hindrances and stumbling blocks in an obedient and submissive Christian life? Is what we do self-seeking or God-seeking?

Join us in our study of Zechariah 8 on Friday.
Read this for an insight into God’s perspective on perfect eyesight.

What our eyes land on, whether intentionally or otherwise, inform our mind’s perception of the world around us.

Yet, do not the blind sometimes see more clearly than those who see in full view?

How willing are we, and how much do we desire for God to correct our untrained, misguided eyes, uncloud our vision?
Read 🌈 Zechariah 8: The Lord does not keep His Anger Forever

As determined as God is to punish those who oppose and provoke Him, His anger is but for a moment.

God is not unjust to forget. Sooner than we realise, God will make good His promises, especially to His true and faithful remnant.

Join us in our study of Zechariah 9 (Monday), Zechariah 10 (Wednesday), and Zechariah 11 (Friday) in the coming week.
Read 🛡️ 🛟 Zechariah 9: Permanent Defence and Deliverance from Evil

“But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” - 2 Thessalonians 3:3

God is as just as He is merciful. His anger and vengeance are for a moment, but His favour endures for a lifetime.

In this, we know to worship God, never mindlessly receive or look lightly upon His unrivalled might and authority.

Join us in our study of Zechariah 10 on Wednesday and Zechariah 11 on Friday.
Read this to understand some of life’s right answers.

“whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” - James 4:14

Why is there life?

Why are we all here?

What are we desperately striving for?

Why are we alive if we have to die?

What makes life worthwhile?

Indeed, this life can be likened to a labyrinth of unanswerable questions.

But, why then, do we still search everywhere else, pursue everything else, even when we have been freely revealed the Book of Life?
Read 👂🏻💭 Zechariah 10: He Has Heard so We Must Remember

Though we are led astray from God’s chosen flock, God hears and knows our vain struggle when we are apart from Him.

In His faithful time, God will gather the lost back to Him, and we will forget Him no more.

Join us in our study of Zechariah 11 on Friday.
Such is a victor's battle cry.

"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." - James 4:7-8

God promises that our diligence and perserverence against all odds will be worth our while; God never promised an easy fight for the crown of eternal life.

Temptations to sin, stumble and be led astray will press us hard on every side, but, through the incontestible power of God's Holy Spirit, and by guarding and strengthening our hearts and minds at every remembrance of God's word, we have already won.
