In this Training we want to explore how movement and perception are connected. What kind of movement appears, when we close our eyes and dive deep into our body perception? How can our surrounding inspire our movement? And how can we open our perception for the others in the room? Take Impulses, relate to each other, become one moving ensemble?
We will use different techniques inbetween movement/dance improvisation, inspired by authentic movement, and physical theatre. Exploring different principles like sensation, relation, time and design. Following impulses from inside and outside. Acting and reacting. We aim to expearience connection with ourselfs, our surrounding and people. And meanwhile surprise ourselves.

🌬️OPEN CALL Winterwerft Art Gallery #TurnTheTide
This year Winterwerft Art Gallery presents artistic and documentary perspectives in connection to our theme: Turn the Tide. A flood is coming. For some of us, the water is still lapping at our ankles, while for others it is already up to our necks. What we want to do about that? How we will react? How we will take responsibility for that?
The open call is open to visual and video artists as well as artists who work with mixed techniques and photography and are focused on the topics of ecological crisis and social inequality. Priority will be given to local artists and applications coming to the region to support small and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Results: The selected artists will be communicated at the beginning of December per email.

About The Winterwerft gallery in Protagon cultural space
The gallery invites the visitor to open the eyes to new perspectives, to take an individual path that, contrary to the standard historical narrative, doesn’t follow a straight – “Institutional” – line; it is an invitation to look beyond the expected and the obvious, imagining new ways to experience and share art and culture with us. For these reasons we display the artworks in a space “in between” that reflects such dimensions, putting them physically, and metaphorically, in dialogue with the performance space of the festival as well as to the “passage ways” and other unconventional corners.

During the event, we will:
• Present an overview of the TREES project and its results
• Showcase the performances created within the project (trailers + introductions)
• Host three thematic discussion panels with scientists, environmental organisations, and artists
• Explore the future of environmentally conscious performance-making

Our senses are a portal into the external world, and a connection to our innerself. Through scents, textures and sounds we can evoke old memories and emotions. How can we translate them through our body? How can we reach a deeper understanding using performance language?
During these sessions we will explore the possibilities of dance and choreographic movement for acting in connection with our senses. We will smell materials, touch and compose with our body using principles of physical theater and dance-theater improvisation, and we will develop short choreographic and personalized movement sequences.
The work starts with a warm-up using combined techniques from yoga and dance, and continues with body work based on self-perception using our senses. We will focus each time on a specific sense: smell/olfaction; touch; hearing; we will explore reaction to specific movements, fluidity, separation and disconnection of body-parts, floor work, and it progresses with exercise, improvisation and composition.
