Salaam everyone 💛
I hope you’re not getting annoyed that I’m back here often now 🥲.
But, just going off yesterday’s check-in, I thought I’d share some posts/duas that have been helping me when I’ve hit rock bottom. I’m not expecting this to help everyone but we’re entering the last 10 nights (inshaAllah may Allah allow us to increase in our ibaadah during these nights 🌙) and this is such a perfect opportunity to ask the One who Gives and Provides.
so please….take what you need 💌.
My telegram inbox and my email is always open for anyone who wants to talk and let go of what has been bothering you. If you need a friend to talk to, do not hesitate because I’m here to help inshaAllah 🫶🏻

hey champs!
it’s been awhile since we’ve done anything interactive, but i just want to check-in and see how yall are travelling so far!
yesterday, i did my 1/2 mental health training because i’m volunteering at an organisation in my community as a peer support worker!
when I was reflecting on my intentions last night, i realised that a huge part of why i am investing myself into this is because I AM your “talking buddy” aka support friend here on TrainTalks (if you’ve reached out to me via email and DM, you would know). and i guess i just want to better support all of you with handy tools at the back of my pocket🫶🏻.
If you have anything that you want us to do on TrainTalks, please don’t be shy to send a message and we’ll look at it before we can get things running for you!
I cannot wait to touch base again with all of you, but for now….i want yall to tell me where you at using this check-in tree ♥️

zs

a message that i keep telling myself time and time again because i always forget.
i’m leaving this here because i know i’m not alone in this 🤍
i hope you will find comfort in knowing that i struggle with lowering my expectations and setting healthy boundaries too. no matter how good your intentions are and how observant you can be about someone’s wellbeing, it is NOT your job to fix them. sometimes, their unwillingness to adjust their own internal damages can easily become damage to you because you are trying to fulfil a role in which you are incapable of fulfilling. as a result, you become very disappointed and frustrated.
learn to take their silence and their no message as a message and closure that you need.
take that as a message that sometimes people don’t care the way that you do and that’s okay.
know when to lean in and attend,
know when to pull back and walk away
good night x

Hey TT Champs!
I’m just following up with the previous poll in this video! I have some ideas about how we can take the email approach (where you email me with your concerns and i’ll be your buddy to navigate through it) to another step 💌
Let me know if this is something you think you would benefit from or if we should figure something else in terms of support that TrainTalks can provide you all with.

Sofea’s random late night reflection 🌙
Key messages:
• sometimes, your courage to show up will be exactly what someone else needs to see
• when you’re feeling unsure, focus in the importance of your message or what you’re trying to achieve. trust that the significance of your goals can help you move forward, even if you’re not fully confident yet.
• don’t wait for the perfect moment or until you feel fully ready - start where you are.

Sofea’s random late night thoughts - Special Edition 🌍🩺
Happy World Mental Health Day 💙
Key messages:
- Take some time today to reflect on your growth
- Emotions, ideally, need to be processed throughout the day. Suppressing them can lead to restlessness or disrupts sleep quality at night
- Express your emotions in a way that works for you (e.g., men uses emotional language that relates to their physicality)
- Prioritise your mental health
A challenge for YOU and I to try!
1️⃣ take at least one hour away from technological devices before bed
2️⃣ pick a day and do something unproductive (stop worrying, just relax)
3️⃣ connection to God, art and nature
4️⃣ spend time in solitude to recharge
5️⃣ take a break from responsibility (say NO, instead of YES when necessary — its not about running away, its about setting boundaries)
6️⃣ enjoy some time alone at home
*sometimes the most productive thing we can do is rest — i think we all owe that to ourselves 🩷

Sofea’s reflections
Ever feel like you’re not doing enough to help the world? 🌍 That was me a few nights ago, but I realised that we’re all capable of making a difference — even if we’re unsure at first!
Right now, my focus is on raising awareness on Sudan as much as I am doing it for Palestine and Lebanon. That’s why I’ve joined Project Blackseed, an incredible initiative aiming to raise $1 million globally in just one week for Sudan 🙌🏻.
You don’t need to be an expert or have all the answers — just the heart to help!
Follow @project.blackseed on Instagram to be a part of the change 💙

Salaam my beautiful friends,
I thought I’d just share what I recently posted on my Instagram page — I don’t know who needs to hear it other than myself.
But, if you’re on the same boat as me, I hope that you find comfort in knowing that whatever Allah has taken away from you, is only to replace with something far better 🩷
I’m always here for a chat lovelies — reach out to people you trust as you take your time to heal.
🤍,
ZS

Salaam my lovely friends,
Welcome to another reflection with me — inshaAllah I want to be able to document my reflections on TrainTalks this year whenever I have the space and time to do it!
I love looking back at my life and see what lessons I have gained from them in hopes that I can change and be better in all aspects of life!
As we journey through the sacred months - Rajab and towards Ramadan (may Allah allow us to meet these months), I pray Allah replaces what was lost with something far better, fills your heart with tranquility, and strengthens your trust in His divine plan. May this new year be a better year for all of us inshaAllah!
Love,
ZS ♡

Salaam beautiful friends,
Hope you’ve been well ❤️ I wanna quickly pop in and recommend a new must-listen podcast for anyone grappling with ADHD or supporting someone who is. It dives deep into the difficulties of managing people’s perceptions and judgments when revealing a mental health diagnosis—something so many of us struggle with in our communities.
The hosts, who are also my friends, interviewed Muntasser Al Habsi and got some practical tips and strategies for maintaining spirituality while dealing with ADHD, as well as the emotional journey of coming to terms with a diagnosis and treatment.
What makes this conversation so powerful is its Islamic perspective—something often missing from mainstream self-help books and Western psychology.
As Muslims, we need more resources like this that address mental health through the lens of our faith. This episode is not only insightful but also deeply relatable and empowering.
Hope yall can benefit from it as much as I did 🩷
talk soon, ZS

Episode 1: Beginnings
This raw, unedited episode of a series (yet to be named, one we will come out with together inshaallah) is a safe space where I talk about my healing process and growth from what had weighed me down lately. no editing, no filters - just real talk about love, loss and finding purpose in the messiness of it all.
Join me as we reflect on the power of sisterhood, the beauty of aligning our intentions for Allah’s pleasure, and the reminders we all need to keep going, even when it feels hard.
Because sometimes, the most powerful conversations are the ones that aren’t perfect — they’re just real.
love,

Episode 2: Intention and Timing
A late Sunday Reflection
Sometimes, letting go feels like the hardest thing to do — until you do it for the sake of Allah. And then, life starts unfolding in ways you never imagined.
In this episode, I shared my reflection on ‘intention’ and trusting in God’s timing. Healing, growth and unexpected blessings are already written for you — all you have to do is align your heart and surrender. ❤️

Episode 3: Walking Dakwah - How My Hijab Opened Hearts and Minds
This week, I’m sharing a deeply personal reflection that moved me to tears — a moment at work where a student’s curiosity about Islam turned into a beautiful connection. It reminded me of the power of representation, the importance of embodying our faith, and how small acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact.
I also dive into a recent lecture on Islamic Psychology and how building good habits strengthens our character and emotional wellbeing.
Whether you’re Muslim or not, I hope this episode inspires you to reflect on the beauty of faith and the moments that shape who we are ❤️

🌙✨ Salaam, friends! ✨
With Ramadan being around the corner,....what’s everyone listening to or reading this Ramadan?
In this post, you will find some of the things I’ve enjoyed listening to and reading (inshaAllah I’ll make an effort to complete it this month!)
I find that having a plan or different spiritual activities help me stay intentional with my time, especially during moments when we’re given a "break" or are not able to fast.
Sometimes, we focus so much on physical acts of worship that we forget spiritual growth can take many forms—whether it’s reading a beneficial book, listening to an inspiring lecture, or simply taking time to reflect and connect with Allah in different ways.
I’d love to hear what you’re engaging with this Ramadan! What are you reading or listening to that’s bringing you closer to Allah? ❤️
