As a follow up message to my birthday post on the 30th of April, I want to say a very BIG THANK YOU to each and everyone of you.

I deeply appreciate your wishes and messages ❤️

To even a greater purpose, let’s pick some lessons from the birthday caption.

Quote :
- “A man who is not driven by external motivations cannot be stopped by external forces”

- “Internally-driven people get their motivation from within, which makes it hard for external forces to stop them.

Sounds Simple, but it is a psychological principle most people don’t pay attention to.

Let’s break it down.

First, what is EXTERNAL MOTIVATION?

External motivation is when your drive and th reason you do things is because of motivations from the outside:
– Praises
– Applause
– Recognition
– Fear of embarrassment
– Peer pressure
– External reinforcements/rewards e.t.c

You move because something on the outside is pushing or pulling you.

How about INTERNAL MOTIVATION?

Internal motivation comes from within you:
– Purpose
– Personal standards
– Identity (“this is who I am”)
– Discipline
– Deep curiosity or obsession
– Impact
– Legacy e.t.c

So here’s the problem:

Anything external can be removed and taken away.

No claps - you slow down
No rewards - you stop trying
No recognition - you become inconsistent and refuse to show up.

That’s why externally driven people are easy to stop.
Just remove the stimulus and reinforcement.

For internally motivated people, your drive is not because of what people expect or will give you.

You don’t act because you feel like it.
You act because it aligns with who you are (Identity, purpose)

This changes everything.

External forces lose power over you, because they didn’t get you started in the first place.

No applause? You still show up.
No immediate results? You keep going.
No recognitions or validation from the outside? It’s complimentary not a priority.

Internally-driven people are dangerous.

You can’t distract them easily.
You can’t discourage them for long.
You can’t control their consistency or how they act, they’ve built their own HABIT already.

“Build internal drivers that don’t depend on external factors like comments and likes.

Once your drive is internal, you won’t need to be constantly validated before you move .

You become very hard to stop.

Trolls will come, recognition will not always be there, engagements will drop, will you still be able to keep going?
