This is not a vote on the abstract principle of assisted dying, nor a vote merely to continue the debate. It is a vote on this specific Bill.

Lauren Edwards' draft is virtually identical to the 2024 Leadbeater Bill, which ran out of time under scrutiny in the House of Lords in April. It retains the same safeguarding flaws, loopholes and inherent dangers.

It is unsafe, undemocratic, and could not come at a worse time for the NHS, for hospices, for social care, and for people who cannot obtain the care they need.

After huge pushback the national Digital ID proposal has been cancelled - now we must make sure related platforms cannot become a Digital ID in all but name

NET ZERO: Billionaire-backed C40 Cities works through mayors to push far-reaching Net Zero policies - including measures intended to restrict private-car use.

This allows policies never clearly presented to voters in a national manifesto to spread from city to city, often without proper public debate or parliamentary scrutiny.

As Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham signed a major C40 transport declaration.

His push to hand even more power to regional mayors must be viewed in that context.
