🎬 Just opened an Upwork account, shelled out $15 (𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝟏𝟕𝟓𝟓 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐫!), and got 150 connects. Applied to four jobs and was chatting with a client when—BAM!—Upwork withdrew my proposals, taking 70 connects. They asked for verification. 📸 So, I took a selfie with my passport. Verified!

Back in action, right? Wrong. Applied to two more jobs, got an interview, and then... 𝑏𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑘𝑒𝑑! 😱


Turns out, I had an 𝚘̶𝚕̶𝚍̶ ̶𝚊̶𝚌̶𝚌̶𝚘̶𝚞̶𝚗̶𝚝̶ linked to a domain email I no longer had access to. Upwork asked for my primary school name to recover it (thanks for nothing, memory!). Tried to log in but needed a recovery code sent to my old email.
But here’s the kicker: the old domain was hosted by Yegara Host, and I hadn't renewed it. Talked to yegara HOST, paid for hosting again, recreated the email, got the code, and logged into the old Upwork account just to close it. 🤦‍♂️

After a chat with friends and an appeal, Upwork reopened my account. Yay? Not so fast—they withdrew all my proposals again, costing me 110 connects. 😩

Now, I have 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞-𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭. Oh, and no Rising Talent badge for 90 days even if I verify.

In one of our project management courses, we discussed success metrics and criteria.One principle that especially caught my attention was known as 𝐺𝑜𝑜𝑑ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑡's Law: "𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭, 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞."

Our discussions often revealed a common trend: we become so focused on achieving specific metrics that we sometimes lose sight of the overarching goals.

For instance, imagine a school that measures success by the number of students passing standardized tests. Teachers might prioritize test taking strategies over actual learning, leading to a generation skilled in exams but lacking deeper understanding.

Similarly, consider someone aiming to lose weight. If the sole metric of success is a lower number on the scale, they might resort to unhealthy methods like crash diets or even surgery, rather than adopting sustainable, healthy habits.

This got me thinking: How do we measure success in our own lives? Do we focus on the metrics or the meaningful progress towards our goals?

Hey folks! I know this might seem like an odd post, but I was inspired by the "3 Body Problem" series and wanted to share something interesting.

In classical mechanics, predicting the position of an object in a gravitational system can get really tricky. It’s not just about applying Newton's laws of gravitation based on distance and current velocity. The real challenge comes from the fact that our measurements aren’t perfect they’re just approximations.

Because of these inaccuracies, even small changes can lead to wildly different results, making the system appear random and chaotic. This phenomenon is known as the "N-body problem."

just a curious thought assume being dead is like moving in the x direction, and being alive is moving in the y direction.

So, if we're moving along the x-axis, we're dead; if we're moving along the y-axis, we're alive. Simple, right? Just an assumption.

But here's the twist: what if we're moving in a direction that's 45 degrees from the x-axis? Wait, what? We're moving in both the x and y directions at the same time, so are we alive or dead?

It’s like we’re both dead and alive simultaneously kind of like superposition in quantum physics. But I’ll just call it life. That’s how I feel sometimes dead and alive at the same time. 😁 Just kidding! But seriously, superposition is a tough concept to understand and explain. I might not even be talking about it 😂

but if so am still talking about it. what does that mean? Either way, I’m talking about it. 🤔 This is weird.
