You can pretend HBD is just "politically neutral" science but the implications and natural conclusions are obvious, hence leftists attacking it relentlessly for 100+ years. HBD-esque science has been a major theoretical foundation of nationalism for a long time.
HBD doesn't take long to learn and can often be simplified for the less intelligent. Many people reach the same conclusions intuitively without reading a single study, but you need an empirical basis for your worldview, policy proposals, etc. or you end up with nonsense riddled with wishful magical thinking, like Marxism.
