started the sopranos, was saving it for the right moment, and it came. i like it so far, good stuff
"It seems that the more places I see, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I have still to go, how much more there is to learn. Maybe that's enlightenment enough, to know that there is no final resting place of the mind, no moment of smug clairty. Perhaps wisdom, at least for me, means realizing how small I am, and unwise, and how far I have yet to go."

i had a long period of not reading anything that didn’t relate to my studies, i read many articles for text analysis (so, no time for classical literature), but recently i accidentally picked up a book that i’m reading day and night. the language in the book is quite easy, the pacing is good, the message is extremely relevant for me right now. a must-read for sure, maybe not in summer, because it’s a gothic decadent novel (you need to be in a specific mood for such thing for sure)

i remember reading somewhere that “changes never happen overnight”. i disagree, because all it took for me was one night. one night when all decisions were made in my head. the main thing is that it’s one particular moment in time when you truly understand what you need, and what doesn’t suit you anymore. it’s this one fleeting moment.
you read something which you thought only happened to you, and you discover that it happened 100 years ago to Dostoyevsky. this is a very great liberation for the suffering, struggling person, who always thinks that he is alone. this is why art is important. art would not be important if life were not important, and life is important.

there are 3 stages of watching this film:
1. enjoying beautiful shots
2. loving actor’s play
3. finding out stuff about vincent gallo..
nevertheless, a well-directed film

all aesthetics are dead ends to your individuality. imperfection is where true art was born. the weirder the better
