در زدند. سگ‌ها توی حیاط پشتی پارس کردند. گرسنه بودند.
لرد آرتور داد زد: "خفه! هنوز وقت شام نشده!"
سگ‌ها بلند‌تر پارس کردند. آرتور رفت دم در و در را باز کرد. نگاه کرد. بچه‌ای را توی سبد گذاشته بودند. هیچ یادداشتی هم همراه آن نبود.
آرتور گفت: "اسم نداری بچه؟ خوب بگذار ببینم می‌توانم اسمی برایت پیدا کنم."
سبد را با خود به حیاط پشتی برد. بچه را پرت کرد جلوی سگ‌های گرسنه: "اسم تو را می‌گذارم شام"
سبد را هم برد و توی دستشویی گذاشت تا در آن مجله باطله بگذارد.
