The Israeli military is expanding the separation wall around the village of Sinjil, north of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, cutting off Palestinian homes and farmland. The wall isolates approximately 8,000 dunams (80 hectares) of privately owned agricultural land, threatening to separate residents from their property.

On April 23, Israeli forces began constructing an iron wall around Sinjil. The barrier, stretching 1,500 meters in length and standing 4.5 meters high, is designed to separate the town from Route 60โ€”a major highway running north to south and connecting six key Palestinian cities.

Kan 11โ€™s investigative programme Zman Emet aired a report on Monday that included surveillance footage from the Sde Teiman Israeli detention facility, detailing an abuse incident that took place in July 2024.

The investigation revealed that several soldiers from Force 100 โ€” the unit responsible for guarding Palestinian detainees โ€” were arrested by military police on suspicion of sexually assaulting a Palestinian prisoner.

In February, the Military Advocate General filed indictments against five soldiers for serious assault and abuse.

According to Channel 12 News, the indictment submitted to the military court describes a series of violent acts against the detainee, including stabbing him near the anus with a sharp object, as well as repeated beatings that led to broken ribs, a punctured lung, and an internal tear in his rectum.
