What is Research Design?
Research design is the framework of research methods and techniques chosen by a researcher to conduct a study. The design allows researchers to sharpen the research methods suitable for the subject matter and set up their studies for success.
Creating a research topic explains the type of research (experimental, survey researchcorrelational, semi-experimental, review) and its sub-type (experimental design, research problem, descriptive case-study).
There are three main types of designs for research:
Data collection
Measurement
Data Analysis
The research problem an organization faces will determine the design, not vice-versa. The design phase of a study determines which tools to use and how they are used.
The Process of Research Design
The research design process is a systematic and structured approach to conducting research. The process is essential to ensure that the study is valid, reliable, and produces meaningful results.
Consider your aims and approaches: Determine the research questions and objectives, and identify the theoretical framework and methodology for the study.
Choose a type of Research Design: Select the appropriate research design, such as experimental, correlational, survey, case study, or ethnographic, based on the research questions and objectives.
Identify your population and sampling method: Determine the target population and sample size, and choose the sampling method, such as random, stratified random sampling, or convenience sampling.
Choose your data collection methods: Decide on the methods, such as surveys, interviews, observations, or experiments, and select the appropriate instruments or tools for collecting data.
Plan your data collection procedures: Develop a plan for data collection, including the timeframe, location, and personnel involved, and ensure ethical considerations.
Decide on your data analysis strategies: Select the appropriate data analysis techniques, such as statistical analysis, content analysis, or discourse analysis, and plan how to interpret the results.
The process of research design is a critical step in conducting research. By following the steps of research design, researchers can ensure that their study is well-planned, ethical, and rigorous.

#7_Research_Challenges (And how to overcome them)

Whether you are a current student or a doctoral graduate, conducting research is an integral part of being a scholar-practitioner with the skills and credibility to effect social change. Fortunately, many of the research challenges you will faceโ€”from choosing a topic, to finding study participants, to staying sane throughout the process, and every step in betweenโ€”have already been addressed. Here, they share their insights on how to overcome seven top research challenges.

#Your research topic is the foundation on which everything else rests, so itโ€™s crucial to choose carefully. โ€œYou canโ€™t do anything else until you figure out the basic focus of your topic,โ€ says Dr. Susann V. Getsch โ€™08, who earned her PhD in Psychology from Walden. The topic of her dissertation, Educating Students With Pervasive Developmental Disorders: An Exploration of Government Mandates and Teachersโ€™ Perspectives, was close to her heartโ€”Getsch has a child on the autism spectrum. After first attempting to โ€œtake on the entire worldโ€ with her research, Getsch chose to focus on how special education teachers select the protocols for classrooms with students with autism in the context of No Child Left Behind and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. She shares her recommendations for choosing an effective research topic. https://t.me/Thesisworks

#Develop_a_doable_topic. Determine what resources you have availableโ€”time, money, peopleโ€”and choose a topic that you can do justice. Getsch scrapped an initial study idea of replicating another researcherโ€™s study because it would be too resource-intensive.
#Read_everything_you_can on the topic. Getsch โ€œstumbled acrossโ€ systems theory, an interdisciplinary framework for understanding systems in science and society. The topic was outside her required class reading, but ultimately provided Getschโ€™s theoretical framework.
Find a theoretical basis to support your topic. The key is having an overarching theoretical context for your results. โ€œI was really thrilled when I found these theories that fit my study like a glove,โ€ Getsch says.
#Make#sure#the#topic#will#hold#your#interest. Youโ€™ll be spending at least a year on a dissertation or any large research project, so it has to be compelling enough that youโ€™ll go the distance.
#Look for a niche in which you can make a difference โ€ฆ My view is that you really should be offering something new to the field,โ€ says Getsch.
#โ€ฆ but remember you canโ€™t change the world with one dissertation. Getschโ€™s dissertation committee chair, Dr. Stephanie Cawthon, helped her focus on the crux of what she wanted to explore. โ€œShe gently pointed out that I couldnโ€™t change the whole world with my dissertation, but I could add to the body of knowledge,โ€ says Getsch.
Let yourself shift gears. Getsch admits that the topic she started out with was โ€œin no wayโ€ what she ended up with.
Fine-tune your topic based on input from others. โ€œTake every opportunity you can to pick the brainsโ€ of experts, Getsch recommends. โ€œI went across disciplines. I drove people crazy. And each time, I would revise slightly based on what the last person taught me.โ€ https://t.me/Thesisworks

#Why_analyze_data_in_research?
Researchers rely heavily on data as they have a story to tell or research problems to solve. It starts with a question, and data is nothing but an answer to that question. But, what if there is no question to ask? Well! It is possible to explore data even without a problem โ€“ we call it โ€˜Data Miningโ€™, which often reveals some interesting patterns within the data that are worth exploring.

Irrelevant to the type of data researchers explore, their mission and audiencesโ€™ vision guide them to find the patterns to shape the story they want to tell. One of the essential things expected from researchers while analyzing data is to stay open and remain unbiased toward unexpected patterns, expressions, and results. Remember, sometimes, data analysis tells the most unforeseen yet exciting stories that were not expected when initiating data analysis. Therefore, rely on the data you have at hand and enjoy the journey of exploratory research. https://t.me/Thesisworks

#Thesis_defense. If you're about to complete, or have ever completed a graduate degree, you have most likely come across the term "thesis defense." In many countries, to finish a graduate degree, you have to write a thesis.

Definition
A thesis is a large paper, or multi-chapter work, based on a topic relating to your field of study.

Once you hand in your thesis, you will be assigned a date to defend your work. Your thesis defense meeting usually consists of you and a committee of two or more professors working in your program. It may also include other people, like professionals from other colleges or those who are working in your field.

During your thesis defense, you will be asked questions about your work. The main purpose of your thesis defense is for the committee to make sure that you actually understand your field and focus area. https://t.me/Thesisworks
๐Ÿ‘4
๐Ÿ‘‰The questions are usually open-ended and require the student to think critically about their work. By the time of your thesis defense, your paper has already been evaluated. The questions asked are not designed so that you actually have to aggressively "defend" your work; often, your thesis defense is more of a formality required so that you can get your degree.

๐Ÿ‘‰How to prepare for a thesis defense quick guide
Check with your department about requirements and timing.
Re-read your thesis.
Anticipate questions and prepare for them.
Create a back-up plan to deal with technology hiccups.
Plan de-stressing activities both before, and after, your defense. https://t.me/Thesisworks

Introduction: Describe the large problem to be solved.
Introduction answers the question: Which problem area this thesis is about to address?

๐Ÿ‘‰Literature Overview: Review the existing research in this problem area.
Answers the question: How did the previous researchers deal with this problem?

๐Ÿ‘‰Thesis Problem: Define your intended contribution to solving this problem and make the promise of the thesis.
Answers the question: What will be your contribution to the current work on solving this issue?

๐Ÿ‘‰Method Section: Describe the protocol youโ€™ve followed to obtain the results.
Answers the question: What methods have you chosen for the research and why are they suitable for this study?

๐Ÿ‘‰Results: Present your findings.
Answers the question: What are the outcomes of this research?https://t.me/Thesisworks

#What_are_statistics?๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡
๐Ÿ‘‰Statistics โ€“ the math and science of data collection, analysis, visualization, and interpretation. Typically paired with the study of probability, the study of likelihoods for a particular event, statistics can also be described as the study of events given a series of probabilities. A statistic on the other hand, is the result that is yielded after data is analysed. A statistic can be described as descriptive or inferential. Descriptive statistics provide general summaries such as the distribution, spread and centre of a dataset. Inferential statistics involves data analysis on just a sample of the population to make inferences on the larger population as a whole.

๐Ÿ‘‰Statistical thinking will one day be as necessary a qualification for efficient citizenship as the ability to read and write.

#Why_should_you_master_statistics?๐Ÿ‘‡
๐Ÿ‘‰Every organization is striving to become data-driven. This is why we are witnessing such an increase in demand for data scientists and analysts.

๐Ÿ‘‰From Data to Knowledge๐Ÿ‘Œ
In isolation, raw observations are just data. We use descriptive statistics to transform these observations into insights that make sense.

๐Ÿ‘‰Then we can use inferential statistics to study small samples of data and extrapolate our findings to the entire population.

Statistics helps answer questions like...
๐Ÿ‘‰What features are the most important?
๐Ÿ‘‰How should we design the experiment to develop our product strategy?
๐Ÿ‘‰What performance metrics should we measure?
๐Ÿ‘‰What is the most common and expected outcome?
๐Ÿ‘‰How do we differentiate between noise and valid data?
๐Ÿ‘‰All these are common and important questions that data teams have to answer on a daily basis. https://t.me/Thesisworks

๐Ÿ‘ŒCitations are an essential part of academic and research writing, as they give credit to the sources of information you used and allow readers to locate those sources for further information. The type of citation style you use depends on the academic or professional field and the specific guidelines you are following. Here are some common citation styles:

๐Ÿ‘‰APA (American Psychological Association):

APA style is commonly used in the social sciences.
In-text citations typically include the author's last name and the publication year (Smith, 2020).
A corresponding reference list provides full details of the sources.
๐Ÿ‘‰MLA (Modern Language Association):

MLA style is often used in the humanities.
In-text citations include the author's last name and page number (Smith 45).
A works cited page lists the complete source information.
Chicago (Chicago Manual of Style):

๐Ÿ‘‰Chicago style has two main variations: notes and bibliography, and author-date.
Notes and bibliography use footnotes or endnotes for citations and include a bibliography.
Author-date uses parenthetical citations in the text and a reference list.
๐Ÿ‘‰IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers):

IEEE style is commonly used in engineering and computer science.
In-text citations use square brackets and numerical references [1].
A corresponding reference list provides source details.
AMA (American Medical Association):

๐Ÿ‘‰AMA style is used in the field of medicine and related disciplines.
In-text citations use superscript numbers[^1^].
A numbered reference list provides source information.
Harvard:

๐Ÿ‘‰Harvard style is a generic name for various citation styles that use author-date in-text citations.
The reference list provides full source details in alphabetical order.
CSE (Council of Science Editors):

๐Ÿ‘‰CSE style is common in the natural sciences.
In-text citations use a numerical system [1].
A numbered reference list gives full citations.
ACS (American Chemical Society):

๐Ÿ‘‰ACS style is used in chemistry.
In-text citations use superscript numbers[^1^].
A reference list provides full source information.
Bluebook (Legal Citation):

๐Ÿ‘‰The Bluebook is used in legal writing and citation.
It includes rules for citing court cases, statutes, and legal documents.
Vancouver (Biomedical and Health Sciences):

๐Ÿ‘‰Vancouver style is common in biomedical and health sciences.
In-text citations use numerical references in square brackets [1].
A numbered reference list provides source details. ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿ‘†https://t.me/Thesisworks
