#Aziz's property group has ruthlessly seen the end to many pubs. By the year 2015, organisations connected to #Aziz owned over 150 pubs. The companies then squeeze landords with unrealistic rates until the obvious happens

This painting by Charles William Wyllie depicts the Angel pub in #Rotherhithe, South #London (c.1887) [101 #Bermondsey Wall E, #London #SE16]. Like many riverside pubs, it was a den of cut-throats & press gangs. It sits on what was once the manor house of King Edward III (1300s).
