Abortion activists in Poland count on our support.
One week from now, in Krakow, we will be discussing the growing backlash against women’s rights inspired by the far right and conservatives. Today, President Iratxe Garcia met VP Frans Timmermans & commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius to tackle the future of Doñana. The regional government plan is a point of no return for its survival, against all Green Deal EU laws.

Our message: All institutions & administrations must work together to protect this world heritage.

We will join forces with our Polish social democratic party, Nowa Lewica, at an external group meeting taking place in Krakow from 2 to 5 May, 2023, to defend the rule of law and women’s rights – issues that go hand in hand and have been under attack by the PiS government. We will also discuss our progressive solutions to current EU challenges, including the social and economic damage caused by Putin's war on Ukraine.

AI is continuously blurring the lines between what's real and what isn't. We must act fast! Commissioner Vera Jourova is right to add generative AI to the Code of Conduct on Disinformation. But with the AI Act voted next week, we want to make it mandatory to label AI-generated content.

The countdown is on! This time next year, citizens in all EU member states will once again head to the ballots to have their say and determine what the European Parliament looks like for the next term. The 10th direct elections will take place from 6 to 9 June 2024. Whether it’s for a fairer future, for a sustainable Europe, for better rights, for true equality, integration or fair taxation, save the date for the next European elections.

What set out to be a discussion about banning unpaid internships turned into a lively debate on topics varying from climate change to Treaty change, minimum income, social housing and mental health, digital and social issues.

Yesterday, at the #EYE2023 in Strasbourg we were shown, once again, that the young generation is facing difficult times, but can also be relied upon for concrete solutions.

The EU and the ACP Countries have just decided to extend by 4 months the old Cotonou Agreement. We cannot accept that a single member state jeopardizes a partnership of over one hundred countries from four different continents. We will send a clear message to the European Council and to the government of Poland: let’s stop holding the post-Cotonou Agreement hostage. Let’s give us all a chance for a better future.
