Results of all 543 Lok Sabha seats have been declared. The BJP alone has won 240 seats. Telugu Desam has secured 16 seats and JD(U) 12.
The I.N.D.I Alliance has bagged 233 seats. Others have won 18 seats in the lower house of Parliament. The Congress secured 99 seats. Samajwadi Party got 37 seats while Trinamool Congress 29. DMK managed to win 22 seats.

In 2004, the People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) approached the Supreme Court seeking measures to protect the 'right to secrecy' of voters who choose not to vote.
In 2013, the Supreme Court directed the Election Commission of India to introduce NOTA to protect the secrecy of voters' choices. Before NOTA, voters who chose not to vote would have their names recorded, violating their right to secrecy.
But what happens if NOTA receives the highest number of votes in a constituency? Currently, the second most successful candidate wins, but a petition is pending in the Supreme Court to make elections null and void if NOTA gets the most votes.
