✅ Cross-Border Train Service After 77 Years

👉 The cross-border train service between Rajshahi, Bangladesh and Kolkata, India is set to resume after a 77-year hiatus.
👉 This will be the 4th international train between India and Bangladesh, joining the Kolkata-Dhaka 'Maitree Express', Kolkata-Khulna 'Bandhan Express', and New Jalpaiguri-Dhaka 'Mitali Express'.
👉 The new train service will facilitate travel and create a new communication link with India, enhancing Rajshahi's importance in communications with India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
👉 Rajshahi-Kolkata train service was functional before the India-Pakistan Partition in 1947.

✅ UK boy receives world's 1st epilepsy device in skull

👉 13-year-old Oran Knowlson from England has become the 1st person in the world to trial a new device fitted in his skull to control seizures, reducing his daytime seizures by 80%.
👉 Oran has Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a treatment-resistant form of epilepsy that he developed at the age of three.
👉 The neurostimulator, called Picostim, sends electrical signals deep into the brain to block or disrupt abnormal signals that trigger epilepsy seizures.
👉 The 8-hour surgery was part of a trial at Great Ormond Street Hospital in partnership with University College London, King's College Hospital, and the University of Oxford.
👉 Oran is part of the CADET (Children's Adaptive Deep brain stimulation for epilepsy trial) project, which will recruit three additional patients with
👉 Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, with a view to 22 patients being recruited for a full trial.

👉 South Korea, the US and Japan began their first trilateral multi-domain exercise. The three-day exercise, named Freedom Edge, got underway in South Korea’s southern island of Jeju.
👉 The exercise comes amid efforts to deepen security cooperation against threats from North Korea by its deepening ties with Russia.
👉 The exercise will focus on ballistic missile defence, air defence, antisubmarine warfare, search and rescue, maritime interdiction and defensive cyber training.

👉 Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a summit in Pyongyang, where they signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty that calls for military assistance if one of them is attacked

👉 The United Nations produces an audio Hindi news bulletin every week on matters relating to the world organisation.
👉 The global body also maintains X, Instagram and Facebook social media accounts in Hindi, in addition to a news website.
👉 There has been a push to add to the UN’s range of multilingualism, but the main constraint is finance, and that is why India is paying for the Hindi initiative.

👉 The Yashasvini campaign is a series of mass awareness campaigns for formalizing women-owned informal micro enterprises and providing capacity building, training, handholding, and mentorship.

👉 Six pillars have been identified to support MSMEs:-
formalization and access to credit, increased access to market and e-commerce adoption, increased productivity through modern technology, enhanced skill levels and digitalization in the service sector, support to Khadi, Village, and Coir industry to globalize them, and empowerment of women, artisans, through enterprise creation.

China: 1st country to gather samples from the far side of the moon

🚀 The Chang’e-6 mission, named after the Chinese moon goddess, blasted off from Hainan province in south China on 3 May and touched down on 2 June on the side of the moon that is never seen from Earth.
🚀 The mission’s lander spent two days collecting rock and soil from one of the oldest and largest craters on the moon.
🚀 Chang'e-6 mission, which returned this week from the far side of the Moon, has brought back nearly 2 kg (1,935.3 g) of samples for research.

🚀 The US, China and the former Soviet Union have gathered samples from the near side of the moon.
