In a letter to the deputy speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly, Narhari Zirwal, the 37 dissident MLAs camp in Guwahati on June 23 designated Eknath Shinde to be their group leader in the assembly as the division within the Shiv Sena widens. This occurs after the Deputy Speaker appointed Ajay Chaudhary as the Shiv Sena legislative party’s new group leader, succeeding rebel minister Eknath Shinde.
