1 million Muslim pilgrims were converging on Saudi Arabia’s holy city of Mecca on Wednesday for the largest Hajj, after the pandemic hit. Saudi had decided to allow 850,000 pilgrims from abroad to make this annual pilgrimage, which begins on Thursday.
