After Swachh Bharat’s success, Parameswaran Iyer, a trusted official of the Modi government, will lead NITI Aayog.

After Amitabh Kant’s more than six-year tenure as CEO of the NITI Aayog came to an end, the Narendra Modi administration rehired Parameswaran Iyer, a former IAS official. Iyer is regarded as a prime ministerial official who can be relied implicitly. Iyer has been hired by the Modi administration twice, most recently in 2016 when he was given responsibility for the PM’s trademark Swachh Bharat Mission.
